I have a brick wall and he cut my quarts stone to fit, some would just grout fill. His quote was itemized and the most reasonable "no gouge" quote. Plus he answered my questions as I am inquisitive, with explanation and patience. As a single woman who has been searching for talented trustworthy, knowledgeable professionals to help with my 1957 home I was blessed to find Sal and Desert Stoneworks! You "Better Call Sal." I did and I'm so happy with my countertops, Sal's integrity and that he's just a great guy!

He clearly knows his craft inside and out, and he took the time to walk me through all my options - including the pros and cons of prefab vs. slabs. I ended up going with slabs based on his insight, and I'm really glad I did. He was also flexible and easy to work with. I needed help with material pickup, and he was willing to handle that (for a reasonable fee), which took a huge weight off my shoulders. My flooring isn't perfectly even, and he went above and beyond to make sure everything was reinforced, level, and solid so the finished product would hold up over time. What really stood out to me was that Sal didn't disappear after he got paid. He checked in and made sure I was truly happy with the final result. That says a lot about his pride in his work and his character. The countertops look fantastic, the craftsmanship is top-notch, and the whole experience felt smooth and professional. Sal is a true master of his craft and a stand-up guy. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for quality countertop work and someone they can trust in their home.

The granite installers were friendly, hardworking, and meticulous. We are thrilled with how our countertop turned out--it's beautiful. We highly recommend J & G Santa Rosa Marble & Granite.

Our kitchen remodel with Javier was a nightmare. We hired him to do granite counter…read moretops/backsplash and paint our cabinets. Counter tops had to be done twice. First attempt the sink was off center by 4 3/4 of an inch and he was trying to get us to just accept it as is. He knew it was off center and wasn't going to say anything. He had cut my cabinet underneath to try and get it where it needed to be but couldn't get it over enough. After my husband made it clear that it was no acceptable he agreed to buy another slab and fix it. Lied about buying another slab and he used what he had left of the original material. We had to point out flaws in his work numerous times and be constantly babysitting the job. He asked for a deposit of $2000 on day 2 for a $5600 job which is illegal. Plus we had to buy our own granite....that he messed up. Granite job came out only OK. Seams are kind of big and visible and spots where he missed filling with epoxy. Painting.....absolutely atrocious! DO NOT LET HIM PAINT. He only caulked half of what he needed to, there's paint runs, not enough paint on the cabinets. He painted with a tiny roller and an art brush. Never even used a real paint brush. After 3 days of painting, when he left I found my drawers painted shut. He damaged my dishwasher with his grinder and left spilled paint on my driveway. He also cracked 2 of my cabinet doors. When I brought this to his attention he had nothing to say and didn't deny it either. Anytime you point something out to him he has excuses. After he got done with the granite and had 1 more day of work (touching up paint) he was asking for more money. Once the granite was done, we fired him and didn't pay him for paint. The cabinets literally need to be completely redone. I pointed out the caulking that he didn't do and he said, "that's alot of work". I explained that is part of painting and reminded him that he looked at the job in person before he gave me a price. He insisted that he could just touch them up. They are way past that. They need to be resanded and repainted. He is not capable of paint and granite is questionable. Javier is licensed for counter tops/stone work. Javier looked at the job in person to give me an estimate on counter tops. He mentioned numerous times that he is licensed, bonded and insured. Javier asked what I was doing with the cabinets and I told him I was getting prices for paint. He said, "I paint too, I can do it, it will be beautiful. I paint cabinets all the time." I was under the impression that he was a general contractor. He should not be offering other services that he is not capable of doing. I told him that when he was fired and he said, "ya paint is easy, paint is whatever". He told me the job would take 5 days. 2 for paint, 1 day to fabricate the granite and 2 days for install. Job took 2 weeks.

Our most recent projects include new kitchen cabinet doors and installation of drawers on the bottom cabinets. We had them remove a dated entertainment center and install sleek modern cabinets and shelving. They also installed tambour wood on the wall behind what will be the place for the tv. A huge difference for our family room. And they found 6" behind the original cabinets, so now our room looks larger. They've also built a new larger kitchen island, shelving unit in our casita and done work on other properties for us. They show up when they say they will, and clean up daily. The prices are very fair.
