They got right to work setting up, and worked without stopping until finished in late afternoon. I hired him back a week later to do some more repair. Again, he was prompt and had a very competent helper with him. Work was completed in a couple of hours. Martin took time to touch up every finish detail. In desperation I called a big box store to get a replacement laptop hoping their repair personnel would take my back-up and load it on the laptop. No way. Then, while eating lunch, I saw an ad for 4Leet. I called them, told them my problem and they said come right in and said they would first: see if my PC could be fixed and, if not, second: load my laptop. Well, that afternoon they saw I needed a new hard drive on my PC, put one in and loaded my backup onto the newly installed hard drive. I returned my new laptop. When two of the employees/owner eventually came out, they looked at me rather confused, then looked at each other, then back at me as if I was an idiot or something. They asked what I wanted and then informed me that they do not work on everyday computers. They only do work for businesses. Took in my 2019 iMac for a free diagnosis. I'm a techie and had an idea what was wrong, but they checked other possibilities, backed up the account on the machine to avoid accidental loss, and spent literally hours pursuing the problem, which turned out to be a hardware failure. 2) They gave me a quote for the repair, but it was too high for my budget. In fact this was going to be a spare Mac, since I just got the new Mac Studio, so I don't really need it and wasn't ready to spend that much. I could understand why the price was high: iMacs from that year aren't made to be repaired. I dislike Apple's closed architecture (literally closed in this case), but that's the way they are. 3) I declined the repair and took the iMac home. No charge, no hard feelings.
