There are several campuses so make sure you register for the correct campus! Some people work full time and this is a great option as well. I had a 1 star experience and left the school as a result. Now, I'm trying to obtain my transcript has been next to impossible and of course cost more money. These "higher education" institutions are nothing more than businesses that take a financial chunk out of the taxpayers and possibly the students, their parents and anyone else that they can get money out of. read more

Totally horrible! I have been at it for days trying to get registered and access courses. I have spoken with several people and they don't seem to know what they are doing. The website has many bugs and just runs me around in circles. The music on their phone service is the worst. The email they gave me is worthless and won't receive or send or do anything. This is the worst school ever!!! My husband went to this school in fall and spring of 2025. He did not receive his financial aid for spring of 2025 which caused him not to be able to come to school cuz we have no gas money our electric bills were due our rent was due and we were depending on the financial aid well spring of 2025 classes are over now and he still has not got his financial aid he went to talk to the owns budman and she's saying that it's not the college's fault that he filled his classes well it is to colleges fault that he failed his classes because if he would have had his financial aid to put gas in the car rent to get to have a roof over his head internet paid cuz one of the classes were online he couldn't do any of his classes couldn't get couldn't get there and the internet got shut off cuz he couldn't pay for it now he's saying that he owes the government so much money and it's not the school's fault because he didn't get his financial aid when it clearly is cuz they've been in the news which is our next step we're contacting the news Be very careful in rolling in this college if you rely on financial aid cuz you will be stuck and you will fail your classes if you can't get there and they don't care just a heads up read more

Santa fe is honestly such a terrible school. Not because of the Professors but because of the staff ESPECIALLY Financial Aid. We are 3 months into the semester and I still haven't received my loan or my grant. No one in that office knows what they are doing or how to do their job. They can never give you a straight Yes or No answer and 99% of the time you will be told "i'm sorry, i don't know" THEN WHO KNOWS!!! it's your job to know these things. No one at that office has ever been remotely helpful and if you need to get in contact with the supervisor... FORGET ABOUT IT!!! I've been told maybe 5 times that I would be contacted by the supervisor and it's never happened. I've even sent emails and they have never responded. So if you can find a better option for schools i would 100% recommend you look elsewhere because this school is literally a waste of time. read more

Definitely do NOT recommend. ESPECIALLY if you use financial aid. Santa Fe is terrible some of the teachers here are wonderful but they do not get paid enough. Every professor I have encountered has to work a secondary job in addition unless they have retired from another field and are receiving some sort of pension or additional income. If you are expecting to receive financial aid don't count on it. Santa Fe is completely incompetent and the way they handle financial aid is absolutely unacceptable. We are currently in the spring semester and there are still students who haven't received their financial aid from the prior semester that was supposed to be released the end of august. I received mine OVER TWO MONTHS late. Santa Fe did not bother to contact or take any responsibility for their lack of competence until many weeks after the initial disbursement date. In addition when they did finally send out a notice there was no responsibility taken they brushed it off as if it was someone else's problem or that it was a national FASFA issue which is also not true because friends at other schools have not had this problem. People in the financial aid office are rude and are no help they only show you how to navigate the financial aid page which is common sense knowledge. Fast forward to early December a message was sent out oops another error spring financial aid "may" be delayed and then nothing else in addition. No information, no expectation of when or if it will be fixed just silence again for weeks. If you are still living at home this may not be an issue for you but PLEASE if you have children do not trust or count on financial aid to help you. read more

absolutely terrible. nobody in the entire place can answer even the most basic questions about literally anything. if you call expect to wait atleast 45 minutes & if you leave a callback number don't expect a person to call back just a literal automated voicemail, if they even bother to call back. they responded to ONE email and decided to never reply to me again. now that i have relocated i need my transcripts to start a new school and it has been back and forth for TWO WEEKS just to get my transcripts and the final result is... me driving 3 hours to pick them up in person because they refuse to answer me over the phone or email. if i could give negative 10 stars i would. i can't imagine how many people drop out or give up just trying to apply or get one single transcript transferred because of how ridiculously hard it is to get into communication with anyone who knows what they are doing. do not waste your time at all. -100 stars read more

I came here post-bac with St. Leo University for my second degree in education. It's a great campus that's relatively easy to navigate and they offer small classes for more individualized attention. Most students go here and transfer to UF at some point, but you can also graduate from one of the many programs offered at this institution. Easy parking if you're taking night classes and a pretty safe campus overall. I liked it. :) read more

If you think about what a community college is designed for and how well Santa Fe succeeds at that. Then this school deserves a good rating. It services a surprisingly large student body at around 20 thousand. It recently received the title of #1 college in the Nation and it is well deserved. It has granted many AAs to students and transferred them into whatever college they want to go too. Typically being the University of Florida. It encompasses multiple programs of duel enrollment, AAs, BAs, BSs, even higher level degrees specifically from my knowledge, nursing. Many of those who don't want to pursue higher level education and want technical degrees also have the ability to learn quite a lot here with the variety of classes they offer. The campus is quite large and has many facilities, many of which are currently being renovated and some newly built. For students at UF, it provides an opportunity to take a step back and take some classes here to offer a different environment and perspective. Many of the professors here are sometimes professors at UF or graduate students at UF. Comparatively, classes are smaller and more focused which gives students the ability to be more involved and better succeed. Santa Fe gives you many tools to succeed and I applaud them for it. It succeeds as a community college and provides opportunities for not only students in undergrad but the greater Gainesville area as well. It is an asset and continues to service those who want to return to school. read more

There are also a lot of great resources on campus such as free tutoring and an awesome library. They claim to be #1 community college but for what? Better read the fine print. Very nice teaching zoo. We live nearby and visit often. Crazy traffic in the morning and when classes get out. On paper Santa Fe would appear to be an excellent school, graduating an astounding number of students each year, and sending many of them to the University of Florida. In reality, the school is the epitome of ineptitude. First and foremost, almost nobody you will encounter at Santa Fe will be able to answer your questions. They will tell you that you must see someone else, who, in turn, will tell you you must speak to someone else who will send you back to the first person. When they do take the initiative to answer a direct question you will find their response is decidedly incorrect. You may, for example, ask someone in the financial aid office where to pick up your check. 'The cashier's office', they will answer. 'What are their hours', you will ask. 'They're open till 4:30'. When you arrive at the cashier's office a quarter after four you will find they have been closed for fifteen minutes. When you return the next day during their actual hours they will tell you that they mailed your check, in spite of the fact that you looked on eSanta Fe, and it specifically told you your check was waiting to be picked up. Do not attempt to reason with the staff at Santa Fe. They are programmed to dismiss your concerns with the following: 'I don't know who told you that, but they were wrong'. Sadly, when you consider how frustratingly difficult it is to navigate the maze of misinformation and apathy offered by the staff, you begin to wonder how many students simply drop out when incorrectly told they cannot do this or that. The value of a degree from Santa Fe Community College comes not from the quality of the education their students have received. Diana, I loved your review(: My experience w/ SantaFe College: I am an out-of-state transfer from California. Compared to my previous college, SantaFe does not come close. In California, if you made a request to do all you school work at home instead of going to class on a regular basis is called "independent studies". A woman at my boyfriend's work had mentioned how SantaFe offered a similar program. I thought it'd be a good idea since I would have to pay out of state fees for the first year until I est. residency. My boyfriend and I went to SantaFe the following Wed. to ask how I could sign up for the program. We would explain it to a staff member, they'd send us to another room in the building. I went upstairs, downstairs, and back again numerous times. I grew very agitated that the staff was so uninformed and unorganized. FINALLY, the help outside the counseling office phoned the VP and she rudely stated, "You mean INDIVIDUAL studies?" So the entire SantaFe staff that attempted to help us could not catch the difference between individual and independent when both studies had the same concept?! I decided since I was already there to see a counselor for acedemic advisement. Pretty much to sum up the conversation the counselor told me to use the internet for my questions. Hmph! Then when I asked him when the fees were due, he told me he wasnt sure. "You cant tell me when your school fees are due, but your job description entitles you to help me make life-choices that would affect my future?" Disgraceful staff, try to ignore them. read more

Working the College system can be very frustrating. I get how angry that can make a person. Unfortunately, many Colleges/Universities are the same in that way. Dealing with financial aid at Santa Fe is awful. After some time you can figure out how to get someone to help you. Go talk to your PERSONAL financial aid counselor. Yes you have one. Given out by your last name. The financial aid people on the phone (not in person) are the best when it comes to help. They aren't being rushed to get 500 students out the door. On the positive side, I have attended three small colleges (SF being my third.) I have two, two-year degrees and am working on my BAS at SF. The teachers are some of the best I have ever had. The program I am in is challenging. I am taking the equivalent of pre-med courses (Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry to name a few) and they are tough but do-able. The small class sizes help. My fellow classmates feel like my family away from home. read more

Went to the production of West Side story there tonight. At the Santa Fe College Fine Arts center Very well done and presented. The rudest staff I have ever encountered outside of the night shift at sketchy quick marts. I had misinterpreted the seating chart and so instead of sitting with my wife, I was sitting in the row directly behind her. I went to the theatre manager and he made two things very clear immediately: It was my fault and he did not care. When I commented on his rudeness his response was "Your the one that bought the wrong tickets, it's not my fault." One jerk ruins an otherwise great evening. Thus far my impression of Santa Fe College administration is dismal. read more
