Finding the right person to care for your child is one of the biggest decisions a parent can make,…read moreand we feel incredibly blessed that we found this daycare and, most importantly, Ms. Erika. The convenient location and hours have been such a tremendous help for our family, especially with my demanding schedule as a healthcare worker. Having diapers, wipes, meals, and snacks provided is an incredible support and takes away so much stress from the daily routine. It allows me to go to work knowing that my son is not only cared for, but truly being loved and nurtured while I am away. But the true reason this place is so special is Ms. Erika. She is absolutely amazing and has been such a blessing to our family. She does far more than simply care for my son -- she loves him, encourages him, comforts him, teaches him, and makes him feel like he is part of her family. She treats him like her own, and as a parent, there is no greater comfort than knowing your child is spending their day with someone who genuinely loves them. Ms. Erika goes above and beyond in ways that are hard to fully express. She takes the time to understand his personality, recognize his needs, celebrate his milestones, and provide him with the patience, attention, and affection he deserves. She has played such an important role in his growth and development, and I am so thankful for the positive impact she has had on his life. It is clear that caring for children is not just a job for her -- it is something she does with her whole heart. As a parent, leaving your child in someone else's care can be difficult, but Ms. Erika has given me something priceless: peace of mind. I never have to wonder if my son is safe, happy, or loved because I know he is. Knowing that he has someone who looks after him, comforts him, and celebrates him while I am away means more than I could ever put into words. The entire staff has also been incredible. Everyone is kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in the children they care for. They create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued. The communication with families is wonderful, and I truly appreciate how open, responsive, and attentive they are. They make an effort to keep parents informed, listen to concerns, and work together to ensure each child's needs are being met. It is clear that this is more than just a daycare -- it is a place where children are cared for with love, patience, and respect. Ms. Erika and the entire daycare team have become such an important part of our family's support system. Thank you, Ms. Erika, for loving my son so well, for making him feel special, and for giving him a place where he can learn, grow, and thrive. The impact you have had on his life and on our family is something we will always be grateful for. XOXO, Bubba

My little girl has been…read moreattending KidWorks for almost two years, since she was one and a half, and it truly feels like a home away from home. Ms. Rose is a godsend and has gone above and beyond to ensure that my daughter felt safe and welcomed at the school from day one. All of the teachers at KidWorks genuinely care about and are deeply invested in the development of each child. They provide parents with daily check-ins, updates, and photos of the child's progress, as well as the activities they participated in that day. The daycare is cozy, cheerful, and impeccably clean, offering complimentary breakfast, lunch, and snacks to the children. The teachers go out of their way to include fun and educational activities in each day, such as outdoor play, bike time, painting, arts and crafts, music and dance, reading, and exploring topics like animals, plants, and the solar system. They even assist with potty training--my daughter became potty-trained largely thanks to the dedication of Ms. Rose and the other teachers. KidWorks also offers complimentary Parents' Nights Off, where the staff cares for the children on weekend evenings to give parents a much-needed break. During the holidays, the school truly goes above and beyond, organizing festive, holiday-themed activities and parties for the little ones to enjoy. I couldn't recommend this wonderful school enough!

Best area summer camp!…read more Camp Crystal, run by the Alachua County School Board, gives Alachua County kids the opportunity to attend a semi local sleep away camp. Area parents will love the shortness of the sessions (Sunday- Friday for one week campers, or Sunday- the following Friday for two week campers.), the short drive there (30-55 minutes depending where you live in Gainesville), and the lower cost (under $600 a child.) Kids will love the beautiful grounds, fun atmosphere, and the awesome classes (kayaking, paddle boarding, water sports, wake boarding, art, frisbee, newspaper, soccer, lacrosse, yoga, and so much more!) Because it is such a desirable summer camp, registration is not easy. Those who have attended a session can continue attending that session without much effort (with just a commitment and later payment) vs others (first time registrants or those looking to change sessions) who must be online at a precise moment and move quickly to try and snag the few available spots. Registering for the first time can be a stressful hassle, but it's absolutely worth it! Once your kids have attended this camp, you 100% understand why everyone is so desperate to have their kids attend. My daughter just completed her fifth year, while my son just completed his second year. Both absolutely loved it! My husband and I enjoyed the short week of no kids life, but loved being able to see and hear how they are doing through the Camp Minder email system, and the photos published nightly. Camp Crystal is truly the perfect taste of sleep away camp for us lucky enough to live in Alachua County!
