The burger place and Mi Apa is really good also they're relatively cheap but I wish they had a chick fil a at reitz. I also recently tried their halal place which is pictured here and I really enjoyed it. The reitz is also a nice place to study, either inside our outside. I personally like the outside area because there are lots of different spaces and it is peaceful

I regret not spending more time here as a student. There are so many things to do here. You kind of forget you have homework priorities if you linger here too long. But as I think of it now, I did spend my fair share of time there. Gallery - http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/l_HwWyvULpD2HXSZCSW0OQ/l this small gallery still features talented student artists. I really enjoyed the exhibit they currently have. My favorite pieces are the photo series with the girl who is sleeping among her things, which signify her surroundings (i.e., in the kitchen, she is sleeping on the floor with pots and pans and cooking stuff around her). I also enjoyed the short excerpts of literature displayed at the very front. When I went to school here, one of the pieces featured in this gallery was a painting of Dragonball characters and raw steak. ::shrug:: KamehameYUM? Lol Colonade - This is one of the most trafficked areas. I don't know if they still do the poster sales, but I remember buying a lot of cheap posters here. One of them was a Dali reproduction - The Hallucinogenic Toreador. Food court - My favorite restaurants were Subway and Wendy's and they didn't have the Starbucks yet. Probably why I found myself at the coffee vending machines on campus a lot. This area has expanded immensely since my days. So much more to eat! And so much more coffee to pull all-nighters. You all are so lucky! Restaurant outside near the colonade - When I was there, it was a Tex-Mex restaurant. I didn't really catch what it is now. Auditorium - where I went with roomie Diana to see a guy lecture about 80's music. I also saw a foreign movie here with my friend Johnny. It looks like they still feature lectures and movies here. Rion Ballroom - where I attended a Pinay concert and got their autograph and pics (you Cali people might know who I'm talking about). Also, where Devotion (another Cali R&B group) performed and a friend from ASU had asked me to model an outfit for a fashion segment for Asian Awareness month. Games - I vaguely remember a bowling alley where you couldn't smoke indoors, and it seems that they still have the DDR game like they did the last time I saw a glimpse of the Reitz many long years ago. I remember being able to buy glow stick jewelry from the gameroom back then, too. 2nd Floor - where the Hip Hop Collective used to breakdance every week (when they first started) and I'd go home sore for 2 days afterward. Hahaha. Art Underground - http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/xb90UXIPjGpSEuhYPwlNSg/l an arts studio in the basement where I attended once and I threw (made) a pottery bowl and forgot all about it a week later. That throwing wheel was awesome, though. Btw, to all you former UF students, the student bookstore is now at the Reitz, and no longer at the Hub. But that's if you ever decide to go back to UF, or maybe just go there to check out the Reitz.

This was my first trip back to G'ville in over 30 years and what a change! I was looking for the bookstore to stock-up on new Gator gear. What I found was a new Reitz Union with a bookstore to rival many department stores. This was quite a surprise first with the parking garage, second with the bright, modern appearance and third with everything I was looking for. To top it off, I heard on the news this morning that the Union had actually won an award for its energy efficiency. Go Gators!

This was my second time here and this time I liked it even More, Thanks to my son's complete tour where we got to see it all. With a food court on the second floor and vendors like; subway, Starbucks, Wendy's, Panda Express, pollo tropical and more, the students will never go hungry. In this building you can find the MCDA, Ground Center for Leadership, Student Activities and Involvement offices. Also, there's the Grand Ballroom on the second floor and every Friday on a separate auditorium UF offers Gator Night, showing movies and more events at no cost.

My office is located here in the Reitz Union so it's only right that I review the facility. The architecture is absolutely beautiful and the artwork displayed on the inside is even better. The Reitz Union is home to a multidisciplinary of different resources that do a great job of helping students. Student Activities & Involvement, Multicultural & Diversity Affairs, Sorority & Fraternity Involvment, Student Government and so much more are all great resources for students to use. Also, if you're looking to relax, the Reitz Union is a great place! They offer the Arts & Crafts Center, Bowling Alley, Game room and a multitude of lounge options. The Reitz Union housekeeping staff does a great job with keeping the facility pristine every single day. If you haven't seen the three story facility, you should come take a look and enjoy it's many resources for students.

The Reitz has just been renovated and it is absolutely stunning! It has been under construction for around 2 years and has finally been opened the beginning of this year. Every student has been to the Reitz because it's the central place for so many things. There is a game room with bowling and billiards (discounted rates for students with their Gator 1), a food court with fast food places like Wendy's, Pollo Tropical and Panda Express and a printing lab (where students can get up to 250 prints for free). Now, when you walk into the Reitz, you are blown away by a huge main area that has floating stairs and glass elevators where you can see everything. There are so many chairs and the one thing every UF student wants...OUTLETS!! I love that the Reitz has so much glass windows which allows natural sunlight to shine through! The Reitz also has a bus stop which pretty much all buses stop at before going to their destinations whether on or off campus. I also can't forget to mention the UF Bookstore that is located on the 1st floor where you can stock up on Gator gear or textbooks. If you're looking to stay on the campus itself, the Reitz has some hotel rooms on the top floors of the building, but be prepared to pay a heftier price than choosing an off campus hotel. A convenient part about the Reitz is having a Wells Fargo ATM and banking station there, so I can deposit items or make change pretty easily. Overall, the Reitz was pretty old when I started as a student but it is amazing now with so many new amenities.

The new renovations have made this place great. It's a new study spot for many, a new hangout spot for many. The expanded atrium is amazing along with the club rooms. It's great to have a room to call your own. Having been here at UF for the past 3 years Ive enjoyed the welcome change and improvements done. I occasionally study here from time to time and absolutely adore it. It's packed with people eating, socializing, dancing, etc. it's almost like the epicenter of student activity. I believe it actually is but it's nice to say it as well ;). Either way, UF did a good job and #GoGators

Two levels of everything you can imagine for UF and preparing for school in general. They have the normal things you would expect: books for the classes they offer, office supplies, and gifts. What I did not expect, was an Apple section to test drive laptops! They have the store set up for guests that are not students as well. They offer a small book section that reminds me of Books - A Million that even has baby books and TVs so sit and relax. When you walk upstairs you will find all the apparel. The have sports, game, casual and dress clothes. I was amazed at the selection. I'll be there quite a bit so I'm sure they'll get more of my money!

I'm a UCF student, so coming from our student union to this Waldorf Astoria of union was a bit of a culture shock. This union is less of a student facility and more of a pinnacle of information and resources for the UF campus. There is a welcome center with smiling faces ready to answer any questions and guide you, which is helpful to a college foreigner like me, who previously spent 30 minutes walking in circles because the campus is so large. There is a variety of food options available including a wing place, pollo tropical and starbucks. The UF bookstore is incredible- too bad everything is Gator themed (just kidding!). There is more than enough seating available on every floor, bathrooms and electrical outlets. There was probably way more available than what I'm listing, but it's such a large building, I really didn't explore it all. Kudos to UF for putting together such an awesome resource for their students and visitors.

Especially when they are rivals like UF and FSU. That was an experience in itself. I got to see the lively college party scene and game scene. I was mesmerized. Fast forward to Oct 17-18, 2025 and we got to bring our kids here so they could see where their dad went to college. Hubby was so proud and gave them a tour of where he lived, his frat house, the campus, the hangouts and of course THE SWAMP!!!! We arrived on Fri 10/17 for the Gator Growl which is their Pep Rally the day before the game. We got tickets to a Florida Blue Key Event as he was part of this organization when he went to school here. They held the event in the building where the basketball games and gymnastics take place. The event was cool as we had food & drinks included and a cute Photo Booth area to take photos. Afterwards, we went into the basketball stadium to find our seats to watch the Gator Growl. They brought out the dancers, cheerleaders, National Championship Basketball team, homecoming court and played several videos of celebrities, important peeps and influencers hyping up Gator Growl. The big performer of the night was Steve Aoki and he definitely brought the energy! We had a BLAST!!! We walked around the campus after the show and stopped into Reitz Union to look around but also grab some late night eats. The only spot open late was Sonic. Good enough. Game day was on Sat 10/18. UF vs Mississippi. We arrived around 2pm to tailgate. Stopped by hubby's old stomping grounds at his frat house. That was overwhelming but a fun tailgating scene. Afterwards, we walked around and checked out all the tailgaters around the stadium, got some food from the food trucks and then headed into the game around 4pm. We got some super sized High Noon canned drinks and damn they were expensive at $22 each can. Ouch! We got Gatorade for the kids, naturally. We had BOMB seats 2nd row back by the 50 yard line on the visitors side, fortunately for us there were still mainly UF fans on this side too. Ha. Fabulous game with tons of hyped up energy!!! Gators ended up winning 23-21 so it was AWESOME!!! What a super fun weekend! So happy we got to bring the kids here to give them a glimpse into the college experience. My husband called this the "College Promo Tour"!!! Lol. UF is a stunning campus and widely spread out. Gainesville is a good time indeed. We would love for the kids to go to college here but honestly, almost all of the Florida colleges are stellar choices! UF is KING for obvious reasons! GO GATORS!!!

I H8 them for it! & go to bed every night wishing them to SUFFER the rest of their lives, as well as their families!! They are so unprofessional. The last one I had done, the blonde Russian/Ukranian lady was supposedly a teacher there! WTAF!!! I tried to be empathetic bc of the war going on between Russia & Ukraine, but what she did is completely immoral & unprofessional, & she had NO good reason to do that to me! I also had to borrow a car every time I went up there, as well, bc I had no vehicle at the time for years. She sent me home 5 Xs in total, after only working on my tooth for maybe 20 mins-MAYBE!! & I live an hour away one way!! I have 3 herniated & slipped discs in my spine (2 in neck & 1 in lower back), & 2 annular cracks in my spine, & it REALLY HURTS me to drive that far & that often! & I had. child at home to take care of, & an abusive husband to deal with, while living just above the poverty line! It's UNBELIEVABLE how they treated me, & I will NEVER go back if I don't have to! It's a sliding scale payment, but it's still EXPENSIVE AF-& only a few hundred less than somewhere like Haile Plantation. Save a few hundred extra & go to Gainesville Family Dentistry & go to Haile for your root canals & crowns, & be treated like royalty, & not have your tooth bother you or give you problems for one day, like the root canal/crown I had done there. The dentist there could NOT BELIEVE the shotty work UF dental did on me, by leaving the dead roots in there! He was HORRIFIED!!! & I am, too! I H8 this place! Stay far FAR FAR AWAY, if you can! I warned you.

Moreover, it also supervises 4-H Clubs and all state-level agricultural extension services in Florida. IFAS is administered from McCarty Hall-A by a top official of the rank of an academic senior vice president at UF--only two such positions exist at UF, with the other being over the Health Science Center. In theory, if the state was to close UF tomorrow, IFAS could continue to exist on its own merits and funding. McCarty Hall itself is a prime example of 1950s institutional architecture, built in 1956 and designed by architect Guy C. Fulton. Approaching the main north-facing entrance, note the liberal use of clear glass brick and sea-foam green coated tile inside. Aside from the IFAS administration, the sprawling McCarty complex houses faculty offices, classrooms, and research labs. While it's been renovated numerous times, McCarty still retains its distinctive 1950s charms--and problems, including a recessed faucet for filling janitorial buckets on the third floor which cannot be used as it leaks into a display case on the second floor. The original science library of UF, the Hume Library, was inside McCarty also prior to the Marston Science Library being constructed. As a building McCarty Hall is a perfect example of college architecture in the 1950s and while to some perhaps not as majestic as older buildings on UF's campus, is essential to our understanding of UF's physical culture.
