Especially when they are rivals like UF and FSU. That was an experience in itself. I got to see the lively college party scene and game scene. I was mesmerized. Fast forward to Oct 17-18, 2025 and we got to bring our kids here so they could see where their dad went to college. Hubby was so proud and gave them a tour of where he lived, his frat house, the campus, the hangouts and of course THE SWAMP!!!! We arrived on Fri 10/17 for the Gator Growl which is their Pep Rally the day before the game. We got tickets to a Florida Blue Key Event as he was part of this organization when he went to school here. They held the event in the building where the basketball games and gymnastics take place. The event was cool as we had food & drinks included and a cute Photo Booth area to take photos. Afterwards, we went into the basketball stadium to find our seats to watch the Gator Growl. They brought out the dancers, cheerleaders, National Championship Basketball team, homecoming court and played several videos of celebrities, important peeps and influencers hyping up Gator Growl. The big performer of the night was Steve Aoki and he definitely brought the energy! We had a BLAST!!! We walked around the campus after the show and stopped into Reitz Union to look around but also grab some late night eats. The only spot open late was Sonic. Good enough. Game day was on Sat 10/18. UF vs Mississippi. We arrived around 2pm to tailgate. Stopped by hubby's old stomping grounds at his frat house. That was overwhelming but a fun tailgating scene. Afterwards, we walked around and checked out all the tailgaters around the stadium, got some food from the food trucks and then headed into the game around 4pm. We got some super sized High Noon canned drinks and damn they were expensive at $22 each can. Ouch! We got Gatorade for the kids, naturally. We had BOMB seats 2nd row back by the 50 yard line on the visitors side, fortunately for us there were still mainly UF fans on this side too. Ha. Fabulous game with tons of hyped up energy!!! Gators ended up winning 23-21 so it was AWESOME!!! What a super fun weekend! So happy we got to bring the kids here to give them a glimpse into the college experience. My husband called this the "College Promo Tour"!!! Lol. UF is a stunning campus and widely spread out. Gainesville is a good time indeed. We would love for the kids to go to college here but honestly, almost all of the Florida colleges are stellar choices! UF is KING for obvious reasons! GO GATORS!!!

Student dentist- Grace and team gave me an excellent cracked tooth repair right after i broke my tooth in half down to the gum line. Excellent work and very courteous. God-AWFUL place. They did good veneers on me in 2015, but…read moresince then this place has been a NIGHTMARE. I got 3 root canals done here, & each one has given me so much pain for 4 years...12 years of pain just from this place. & I paid for it. Better than nothing, I suppose. My gum is eaten down to my gum-line around each root canal they did. Every single time I floss it hurts & is tender & raw for literally the rest of the night until I go to bed & wake up. I H8 them for it! & go to bed every night wishing them to SUFFER the rest of their lives, as well as their families!! They are so unprofessional. The last one I had done, the blonde Russian/Ukranian lady was supposedly a teacher there! WTAF!!! I tried to be empathetic bc of the war going on between Russia & Ukraine, but what she did is completely immoral & unprofessional, & she had NO good reason to do that to me! I also had to borrow a car every time I went up there, as well, bc I had no vehicle at the time for years. She sent me home 5 Xs in total, after only working on my tooth for maybe 20 mins-MAYBE!! & I live an hour away one way!! I have 3 herniated & slipped discs in my spine (2 in neck & 1 in lower back), & 2 annular cracks in my spine, & it REALLY HURTS me to drive that far & that often! & I had. child at home to take care of, & an abusive husband to deal with, while living just above the poverty line! It's UNBELIEVABLE how they treated me, & I will NEVER go back if I don't have to! It's a sliding scale payment, but it's still EXPENSIVE AF-& only a few hundred less than somewhere like Haile Plantation. Save a few hundred extra & go to Gainesville Family Dentistry & go to Haile for your root canals & crowns, & be treated like royalty, & not have your tooth bother you or give you problems for one day, like the root canal/crown I had done there. The dentist there could NOT BELIEVE the shotty work UF dental did on me, by leaving the dead roots in there! He was HORRIFIED!!! & I am, too! I H8 this place! Stay far FAR FAR AWAY, if you can! I warned you.

And Mrs. Emily Matthews was my go-to gal for keeping me on the path to graduate. :) ~ The University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), founded in 1964, is a college of the University of Florida. The programs offered specialize in agriculture, natural resources, and life sciences. CALS has two schools with it: Griffin-Floyd Hall Home of CALS the School of Forest Resources and Conservation (forestry and conservation) and the School of Natural Resources and Environment (natural resources and environmental science). The Florida Department of Citrus has its department of economic research at 2125 McCarty Hall. CALS administers the degree programs of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). IFAS is a federal, state, and local government partnership dedicated to develop knowledge in agriculture, human and natural resources, and the life sciences and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life. With 24 undergraduate majors, more than 50 areas of specialization and 20 graduate programs, CALS is an educational leader in the areas of food, agriculture, natural resources and life sciences. ~[Courtesy of Wikipedia] I spent my formative years in this college and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development. They have great and caring staff offering exceptional programs here. I do recommend applying or attending UF CALS for higher education and growth.

IFAS is the largest independent unit of the state university system of Florida and while a part of the University of Florida at Gainesville, IFAS is allowed its own funding lines and maintains extension and research centers throughout Florida. Moreover, it also supervises 4-H Clubs and all state-level agricultural extension services in Florida. IFAS is administered from McCarty Hall-A by a top official of the rank of an academic senior vice president at UF--only two such positions exist at UF, with the other being over the Health Science Center. In theory, if the state was to close UF tomorrow, IFAS could continue to exist on its own merits and funding. McCarty Hall itself is a prime example of 1950s institutional architecture, built in 1956 and designed by architect Guy C. Fulton. Approaching the main north-facing entrance, note the liberal use of clear glass brick and sea-foam green coated tile inside. Aside from the IFAS administration, the sprawling McCarty complex houses faculty offices, classrooms, and research labs. While it's been renovated numerous times, McCarty still retains its distinctive 1950s charms--and problems, including a recessed faucet for filling janitorial buckets on the third floor which cannot be used as it leaks into a display case on the second floor. The original science library of UF, the Hume Library, was inside McCarty also prior to the Marston Science Library being constructed. As a building McCarty Hall is a perfect example of college architecture in the 1950s and while to some perhaps not as majestic as older buildings on UF's campus, is essential to our understanding of UF's physical culture.

UF provides one of the best higher educations in the country. Unlike when I went to school, if you signed your name on the application you pretty much got in. Now admission is tough. Only the top 2% of a high school graduating class are admitted. Every year on the last Friday in February, anxious students pray that email opens with floating gators! The school has so much to offer. Outside of education there are nationally ranked sports teams. Just experience a football weekend and you will see the school spirit and you will see where the term "Saturdays are for the Gators" came from. So many top athletes have come from UF, football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, swimming and more. Not into sports, there are plenty of other clubs and activities available. The Reitz Union is where students gather. There's a great rec center inside with a bowling alley, pool tables, foosball and plenty of food choices. There's so much offered on campus. Ok, I'm a but partial, I'm a gator through and through and my sons a gator. When ever I drive up and get close to the school, I think how much it's grown since I was there and how great it is to be a Gator and now a Gator mom!!!

I used to wake up 4-5 times throughout the night every night for several years, I now wake up once a night or sometimes I sleep completely through the night. I used to have a bowel movement once per week, but only after taking a laxative. Now I have a bowel movement at least 5 days a week. I had also suffered with shoulder pain for the last 15 years due to a motorcycle accident. After just 5 treatments, my shoulder pain is gone. I can't express enough how thankful I am for Lori Pallais and Dragon Rises for taking the time to work on all of my physical issues that were majorly affecting my sleep and everyday life. Thanks again Lori Pallais.
