You know those cans of mixed vegetables with green beans, carrots, and corn? That is what they put on top of the chicken teriyaki bowl! Luckily, I saw it in the picture on the menu and asked him some questions. I was able to save myself from gross mushy vegetables by requesting to keep them off my food. I asked for broccoli and they told me it was a $3 up charge. The teriyaki bowl was a decent size and there was plenty of chicken. The chicken was tender and the sauce was good. The rice was cooked well. This restaurant is in the United terminal of the airport. Conveniently located. There is a small dining area off to the side. I have had the sushi before and it was OK fresh. read more

This is so bad... they have the same food as the one at terminal 2, but I had a terrible night after I had a bowl of Chicken noodle! The chicken tasted so bad and my stomach hurt till midnight, went to restroom more than 3 times! read more

Although they had plenty of salmon she refused to let me buy salmon sashimi. However I was able to purchase salmon nigiri. Makes zero sense. I'd eat here if the theatre of TSA survives (which it likely will despite 10 billion in annual cost with poor quality.) and I'm a captive customer. read more

My dinner at SFO as I didn't get a chance to eat yet. Sankaku is very close to where my gate was which was convenient. I still have lots time though before my plane departs close to midnight. I am taking my time eating my dinner. Lots people passing by going in and out. Service was fine. I got my order pretty fast. The chicken was nice and hot and tender. Overall, I would get this again for a meal. read more

I was a lil disappointed they didnt have the bento but the beef bowl was just as good! This has to be one of the few places that DOES NOT overcharge at the airport. The beef bowl was a good amount of food! Lots of rice and beef ! Service was great and they are a pretty lowkey area. You wont miss with this. The canned drink was 4.50 (4.88 with tax) but when you have this much food and good at that and its a small business you cant complain read more

Surprisingly decent airport food. One stall over is a Burger King whopper meal for $17. I prefer the tonkotsu ramen served with tons of chasu pork slices for about the same price. Did they mistakenly put too much? I'm not complaining. The beef curry doesn't look appealing but actually taste pretty good. They're also generous with their beef slices. There's a good amount of rice where you probably share one meal if you're on a budget or diet. My oldest daughter loved the soba but she wasn't a fan of their beef slices. I tasted her broth and it had a nice beefy flavor. There is no ambiance here as you could be eating your sushi next to someone having a whopper. I wish I can comment on the service because it's really just a cashier and you grab your food to eat at an open table. Also they prepare it very quickly which is great when you're catching a flight to Disney world. read more

Maybe it's because I was there late at night, and the sushi had been sitting out for a while, but it was just not good. I paid $20 for their deluxe sushi plate, which came with a spicy california cut roll and 5 pieces of nigiri. The rice was super hard, the fish was poor quality. I kind of wish I walked a little bit further and grabbed Burger King instead. Service is okay here. The person at the front was transactional. It looks like by a certain time, they stop making fresh sushi and you can only get what's available in their shelves. The food is probably better fresh, but if that's the case, maybe discount the food that's been out for a while so the price matches the quality. read more

This was the worst food I ever had in an airport, but possibly anywhere. It is so disappointing and frustrating to be at the airport early in the morning, about to get on a six hour flight, & already starving. Due to my dietary restrictions I was elated to see gluten-free option right away. I'm not used to restaurants serving lunch and dinner foods at 7 AM, I wish they didn't either so I wouldn't have been sucked in. The seaweed salad was horrible. It's about $6 for this tiny amount. At first, I was annoyed that they charge so much for such a small portion, but the joke is on me because I can't even finish it. It's all sugar and nothing else. You're just eating candy seaweed. No acid, no salt, no sesame oil flavor, nothing. It's so gross. I got the beef curry, also absolutely disgusting. First of all the beef was poor grade cheesesteak meat. I took a picture of a bite that I had to pull out of my mouth because I couldn't chew it. It's all gristle/fat/tendon/it makes me wanna throw up. The curry sauce as zero curry flavor. It tastes like beef stew on top of rice. And it's a huge heavy portion. $24 plus tip almost $28 for complete trash. I would go back to complain and ask for something else, if I thought they would actually care. (I'm thinking something simple like the grilled chicken on top of rice ) Also, it was a little bit of a walk from my gate we're gonna board in 30 minutes... maybe I will go back there even if they won't make me something different, at least I can tell them how disgusting it was. The person who takes the orders is a little bit on the rude side so I don't know if she'll care. But this is just abysmal. They need to be ashamed of themselves for serving such poor quality food. If I could give this place a zero star with a side of racism, I would. The lady in front of me asked for healthy tofu udon which is in the vegetable dish list. The server said it's not vegetarian. And the lady moved away, who happened to be Indian too. So being next in line, I asked her again if it's really not vegetarian, and I got a 'what did I just say?!' I snapped back with a 'I am a different Indian person' and told her how stupid the menu list was. That was incredibly mean and rude. read more

SEP2024 We were in need considering how early and this was the first we stumbled on. Grabbed the veggie udon and a salmon bowl. We also got the seaweed salad, vegetable roll, and inari for good measure. I think the only thing we liked was the seaweed salad. The inari were decent, the vegetable roll just fell apart picking up pieces. The salmon was way overcooked and dry. The veggie udon was bland. Alot of the sauces are repurposed for other things I'm assuming to save time. The sauce used for the bowl tastes like the broth except extremely watered down. Will skip as an option next time we roll through. read more

I had an 11am flight time, with a flight length of 3.5 hours. Definitely didn't want to get anything on the plane, and so I wanted to make sure I brought some food on the flight. I've always seen this place right after the security check, decided to give it a try. They have a lot of options here, including sushi rolls (smaller maki, larger special rolls, nigiri), donburi, noodles, bento boxes, and beer and sake. Took me a while to decide, but I ended up going with the Bento Box, which was $18. This was not bad a price at all, for the huge portion they gave me. There's only one choice for the bento box though - chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, rice, and 3 pieces of California roll. They gave me a LOT of chicken! I can't believe how full I was. The quality was definitely not the best, but I feel like okay for airport quality food. Salmon was a little dry but still good, chicken they used thighs which were a little dry but also still good, and the California roll was imitation crab but also good. Food came out super fast, within 5 mins of me ordering, impressive since there were quite a few people ahead of me. They all got their food too! Depending on flight time and duration, maybe next time I would get the sushi deluxe so I won't be as full. The special rolls & nigiri looked pretty good. read more

Simple but if you're just looking for salmon rice and cucumber, here you go. Salmon tasted great and ingredients fresh. Can add soy sauce for added flavor but sometimes you don't need a lot while traveling, and this was a nice option from a sandwich or cheeseburger. Order at the counter and it will be ready quickly. The ultimate udon was flavorful and had everything I wanted it to be. It came with tofu, a crispy shrimp tempura, chicken and what looked like marinated beef. Broth was flavorful and came hot. I think the other reviews need to give the udon soups a try This was one of the better options of SFO airport and sushi looked fresh. For airport food this wasn't bad. We couldn't bring ourselves to trust the sushi so we got soba noodles and a salmon rice bowl. The portions are pretty big so they're definitely shareable. Quick service but I could definitely tell the cashier who had a thick Asian accent was struggling to communicate with the next customer who had a thick German accent but the thought was there. He really didn't want anything with soup but all the noodles they had included soup and it probably wouldn't make much sense to serve it without soup which has all the flavor in it. read more

This little place in the airport looks like it would be yummy but unfortunately for as expensive as it is you might not get your money's worth! The fresh made sushi was fine, not great but not awful. The spicy chicken bowl was adequate for flavor but the chicken was way overcooked & super dry! When asked about some sauce to help with the dry chicken & woman at the counter was a bit rude & abrasive and said for purchase only. She just had a demeanor of being bothered with questions. one younger girl was super friendly & sweet but the older woman hovering was rude I'd say with many other food options when stuck at SFO I'd give this establishment a pass! Airport food is already so overpriced might as well get your grub at a place that's happier to have your business. read more

This is my first time I try Sankaku. The food is average. It is airport food. You can't expect too much. But what made me angry is the 5% 'Employee Benefit Surcharge'. I'm a customer, not the employer. Why should I pay for your employee's benefit. Worse of all, they don't even let you know so you can opt out until you paid. This type of culture needed to be stopped. read more

Ok, first off this is the Sankaku "in the airport" United terminal. Ordered the Ramen noodle bowl. Absolutely the worst I've ever had. Why, *The pork was mostly fat *The noodle were hard, almost like eating noodles out of a Raman package. * Way too much seaweed in the bowl. Seriously? Way too much. * very salty broth. Would never eat here again. Plus, the fish used in the sushi is cut incredibly thin making your meal mostly white rice. Well... that $14 I'll regret spending today. read more

I frequently stop here during layovers and when I'm craving sushi, teriyaki or curry chicken. The bowls are great and probably a good value for money and tasty to boot. Service is really fast and there's never a long line at this restaurant. Plenty of seating right outside and I did see a sign that food from this restaurant is not allowed on any aircraft. read more

Like any airport food, this was overpriced and not the best quality. But going in expecting that, I thought my dinner wasn't all that bad. Cost was $28 total for 1 seaweed salad and 1 "deluxe" (8 spicy tuna rolls, 4 pieces nigiri). I was shocked how much it cost. The seaweed wrap on the rolls were a bit stale. If you are in a hurry this is your spot! All the sushi rolls are premade for quick pick up. The soup base entree came out in under 5 mins. The tempura soba tasted great! I was able to order and eat in under 30 mins before I rushed to my flight. For airport food, it was delicious! Beats the fast food options around and didn't have enough time for a full seat down meal. read more

So when we visit a sushi restaurant, we tend to evaluate everything as a whole -- price, quality, service, and of course the flavors. For dinner we ordered the Mango Tuna Roll (which was our first time trying a mango-style sushi roll), the 8-piece Omakase Nigiri, a Double Toro Roll, two pieces of Otoro, and a hot sake. With a 20% tip included, the total for the two of us came to $163.50, which honestly falls within the average range of what we usually spend for a sushi dinner like this. Normally we might pay around $120-$130 depending on the place, sometimes a little more if we add an extra item or two. The portion sizes were pretty standard. Not unusually large, but not small either -- similar to what we've experienced at many other sushi restaurants. Where this place really stood out was the depth of flavor. The quality and balance of the ingredients were excellent. At one point I actually caught myself closing my eyes just to focus on the taste, which is something I almost never do. The preparation felt very refined and the flavors were elevated, rich, and memorable. I would describe it as delicate portions with very elevated flavors. Because of that, I'm giving this place 5 out of 5 stars. This is the kind of restaurant that works perfectly for a nice dinner with your partner. I love spicy food, so my friend and I split the spicy tuna roll, the hot girl roll, and the baked scallop roll. Each one was delicious, but the hot girl roll was my favorite. It's topped with spicy tuna and jalapeños and had the perfect kick. The baked scallop roll came out hot and gooey, covered in a sweet garlic sauce that paired really well with the scallops. The restaurant is also vegetarian-friendly, which is one of the reasons we chose it. My partner ordered the avocado maki, veggie dragon roll, and the futo maki. His favorite was the veggie dragon roll, which includes avocado and eggplant. The futo maki wasn't as much of a hit for him, but that may just be because he's not a big fan of radish. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place for the quality of the food and the welcoming service. It's located in a small shopping center with its own parking lot, which is a big plus since you don't have to worry about finding street parking.

It's definitely a popular spot on the weekends as we had to wait a bit each time before a table became free for us. There's a bit of outdoor seating, but hey.. Brisbane gets cold and foggy at night, but if you have a four legged friend with you, that's the proper way to go.. We come here as a party of six a couple of times now. The service and food quality was consistently good with attentive friendly prompt service both times. Busy sushi counter with three sushi chefs slicing and dicing away! Highlights here for me were the big thick super fresh pieces of sushi (Toro, Salmon and Albacore), and the Tonkatsu Pork Curry Rice. Though the menu seems vast, I didn't really encounter anything that I didn't enjoy. The Dragon and "Heart Attack" rolls were perfect. Everything was just on point or better. Well... wait.. I didn't think the Sushi Tacos were that great, as they were unexpectedly spicy and fall apart rather easily. Eh.. I'll master that maybe next time. Lots of angled parking out in front. I wouldn't mind coming back here anytime. It's a bustling busy place in otherwise sleepy Brisbane!

The chirashi came with 20 slices of fish (5 of each type of fish). The cuts came quite awkward and small compared to other locations but come with a good thickness. Honestly, not bad for the price. The 10 piece omakase sushi is the star of the show. I would definitely recommend this as I can see how this place got viral for their selection. All the fishes were fresh and they gave such nice and big slices. I definitely would get it again if I was in the area as the value is totally worth it.
