Friday night date-night turned out spectacular after choosing to dine at JUU KU!!…read more This place was unexpectedly impressive. It had a moody vibe with red ambient lighting and an upscale edgy sushi bar with really unique, oversized art all around. Prices were fair ranging between $12 - $35 per dish depending on what you order. Service was impeccable. Our hostess, server, and all of the staff in general were warm and friendly. Our server was able to articulate the specials and entice us to try the mango salmon roll which was smoky, creamy and tropical. Sushi tasted fresh as we also ordered the salmon sashimi. Watching the sushi chefs interact with each other and have fun while preparing such meticulous meals was entertaining and mouthwatering. My absolute favourite dish was the Rock Shrimp Tempura in a creamy spicy garlic chili sauce. These were perfectly cooked and the prawns were huge and juicy...came with a hearty salad underneath them too. The dim sum deserves a shout-out as well. We ordered the Truffle Lamb and Prawn Shumai Dumplings and it was the freshest dim sum I've ever had in Canada. Reminded me of when I was in Singapore. We will definitely return!!

Their add on the menu that says: "Steps away, worlds apart" is true. The food is the best and very delicious! I didn't have even one item that was not the best! I'm so happy that this place is close to us and I can enjoy their amazing food whenever I want! :) I highly recommend the place!

The service was very generous and kind. The overall environment is very traditional Hong Kong Chinese. And, it was not pricey at all! Six dishes in total costed me 65 dollars plus tax and tips. Recommended!

I ordered the Curry Beef Brisket Noodle again during my second visit because the dish left a great impression on me during my first visit. The Curry Beef Brisket Noodle is a must-try and I definitely recommend this if you are visiting this restaurant. During my first visit, I did not have the chance to try their satay skewer and I decided to order a chicken satay skewer to try. The chicken satay was good. The meat was tender and nice, and not too burnt or tough unlike some of the satay that i tried. It came with a satay dipping sauce, but the sauce was not as good as I thought. Perhaps it did not contain peanuts due to possible allergy concerns so the sauce was not as fragrant as I expected satay sauce to be. But still it was good, and the skewer wasn't too expensive as well. Great restaurant and definitely one of the hidden gems in Edmonton.

And we also came with a very large group. Honestly they had all the reason to kick us out, but the staff took care of us regardless. Since we were late we just picked the soup broth and 5 add-on's. I got the Herb and Lamb broth. It was delicious, savory, and hearty. And for the add-on's, I picked the sliced Beef Sirloin, Enoki Mushroom, Napa Cabbage, Fried Tofu and Flat Rice Noodles. They didn't have Fried Tofu so I asked to substitute for Fried Bean Curd instead. Looking back at this now, I'm glad (and I'm sure the kitchen was too) that we only picked 5 things. AYCE would've been too much and too overwhelming with all the options there. And honestly, they gave us so much for the 5 things we ordered. It was a whole spread of meat and veggies. I was actually very impressed. Portion size was huge. I was also impressed by the service we received. It was late, but they really took care of us as patrons. It's a 4.5/5 for me. Definitely one of the best service I've received at a sit-down restaurant/food business and I wish this place success.

Just the right amount of flavor, and a perfect start to the meal. After that, we shared the beef bibimbap rice dish, along with the chicken karaage. The service was great, with the staff being never far away, but not pressuring as you enjoy conversation and food with friends. The restaurant has a cool urban. Look with various seating and interesting decor. Although you may have to look to find street parking, it is well worth the effort for a great dining experience.

I am usually drawn towards the specials of the day. I went with a friend, and we tried a variety of menu items. Chicken Karaage - Japanese classic crispy fried chicken, green tea salt, and chili mayo. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Lovely spiced skin. We also tried the salmon pressed sushi which was fabulous. Wild sockeye salmon, avocado, Japanese mint, kaiware, seared with creamy soy sauce Lovely. We also tried the chef's appetizers for the night which was good. You don't get to choose though, and I can't say seaweed salad is a favourite for either me or my friend. The prawns were yummy though. We had no idea what we were eating in the bowl. Maybe shredded pork? It was decent. The last thing we had the assorted sashimi which was really fresh. Service was fine but not friendly. I will come here again
