I pulled up next to him at the light, we rolled down windows and I smiled and mentioned it was me that had the Monday appointment. Before I could even get another apology out he said, "Yeah you gave me to the wrong address and I was there on time." Then he rolled up his window and sped off. Overall not a good experience. They first emailed me the owner's manual along with troubleshooting instructions to see if we could resolve the issue ourselves. When that didn't work, they were able to get someone out the same week. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem and found that the water softener's header had failed. He mentioned he'd only seen that happen twice before. He replaced the part, and to my surprise, they didn't charge us anything. The level of customer service, honesty, and reliability was exceptional. It's something that's becoming harder and harder to find these days. I explained in detail what had to be done, received a verbal quote, agreed to it and scheduled them to come out. The person who came was personable and knowledgeable, but after she removed the old toilet she said that the old tile would need to be chiseled out to fit the base of the new toilet. She said that she was comfortable doing that and then proceeded to quote me almost triple of what I was verbally quoted. I agreed and she was to come out the next day to finish the job. I paid their required 50% of the new quote fee. Well, instead of coming out the next day, the plumber called to say that her boss wouldn't let her do the tile work she herself told me she had done before and was confident there would be no problem. Then I was told that I needed to get a tile person to come and do the work on chiseling the old tile out. Oh great, another person that I don't know who I can pay who knows how much money. After speaking with "their tile guy", I told him no to his $200+ estimate, and was again contacted by Robins Plumbing asking if I wanted them to come out. I told them no, that I didn't want to pay another $250 to get pretty much nothing done again and that I didn't appreciate being hit with a "Bait and Switch". That's pretty much what happened, I paid over $250 to have the old toilet removed and was left with nothing. Would I recommend them? Not on your life! Any company who professes to be totally customer service oriented and pulls something like this shouldn't be in business in my opinion. As I told their plumber who came to my home, they talk the talk, but certainly don't walk the walk !
