I have never ever been charged…read morefor miscellaneous testing (only one type so they don't dilate your eyes) like this office does. THINK TWICE before scheduling here. The ophthalmologist was fantastic, the billing/insurance/front office is either 1) misinformed or 2) not being forthcoming with how much they will charge. I was reassured over and over that although my insurance told me I would not be covered, by someone named Janelle that 'I promise you, it's ok and we'll take care of billing it correctly so it will be covered. If the staff doesn't do it correctly, ask for me". Well, it wasn't AND there are apparently two Janelle's in the office... so no one wanted to take responsibility for the statement made. Do yourself a favor and go into Gresham or the other Sandy eye clinic. I will tell everyone I know that they need to avoid this clinic - not because of the care, but because of their billing/sheistyness/and dishonest staff. I just paid 140.00 more for their services when I was told many times there would not be extra charges because of the way they would bill my insurance. Just don't do it. P.S. I know what I'm talking about - I have worked in the healthcare industry including billing and A/R my entire career and I KNEW something was off.

My wife scheduled a routine annual eye exam with Cascade Eye, but the visit was later classified as…read morea medical exam without her knowledge. Prior to the appointment, she was asked about medical insurance, which caused confusion, as this was an annual routine eye appointment. I called the office seeking clarification, but Dylan could not adequately explain why the visit was billed as medical. I was told the office manager, Chrissy, would call my wife the next day, but no call was made. When I followed up that afternoon, Chrissy stated, "I had no intention of calling or apologizing because I was too busy doing other things and credentialling another doctor." Chrissy had time to listen to the recordings of my wife making the initial appointment and my conversation with Dylan, talk to the front desk staff, talk to the examining Optometrist, and review the billing for the visit, all prior to our phone conversation. During our conversation, Chrissy fabricated that my wife "came in concerned about her cataracts and eyelids." This is flatly untrue. Rather than addressing our concerns, she focused on my tone and accused me of being rude and condescending. She also minimized our concerns by stating that, "the medical portion would likely be covered and that we would not receive a bill." We have still not received a clear explanation as to why a routine vision exam became a medical exam. During the exam, the doctor confirmed my wife's existing cataracts were unchanged and briefly discussed drooping eyelids, which my wife declined to pursue treatment for. At no point was she informed that the exam was being converted to a medical visit. My wife has been a patient at Cascade Eye for years, and her cataracts previously documented during routine exams, without the visits being billed medically. We feel it was disingenuous that she was not informed of the change in billing status and was asked by receptionist Kathy to sign treatment consent forms after the exam. My wife has since called the office and requested an itemized bill from Dylan. The staff's poor communication, inability to answer billing questions, and dismissive response to our concerns caused unnecessary confusion and stress. Instead of receiving an explanation or apology, we encountered contentiousness and contradictory information, including statements that previous visits were not billed medically because a prior doctor had "shoddy paperwork.". We invite the clinic owner to listen to the conversations I had with his staff on August 11th & 12th. In particular, the office manager completely failed to represent Cascade Eye in a professional manner, and instead deflected blame onto the front desk staff, previous doctors, my wife, and myself. This was an awful patient & family experience filled with unclear, dishonest staff communication and misleading billing. We would not recommend this clinic and will absolutely be seeking eye care elsewhere. Catrina C

He also spent an extra 5 minutes at the end of my appointment explaining how my insurance covers contacts vs. glasses and what the pricing difference would be. I initially planned on getting contacts, but he walked me through the EXACT cost for the lenses I would need without insurance coverage (almost $1000) AND told me how I can find cheaper contact prices to pay for out of pocket. Also, Kevin in the front office is an absolute delight! He helped me find good frames and provided very helpful and honest feedback in a professional manner while looking for a frame that would fit my face well. They provide reminder texts before appointments, are open on Saturdays, and are so incredibly kind and professional! Will never go to a different optometry office again!

A proper fitting glasses is an important as proper lenses... The place is welcoming and friendly. The inside is  well decorated. The business is run by the two owners which means that they care. The doctor took his time and went the extra mile to confirm his diagnosis. They have a good selection of eye wear including high end selection. They even mocked up the bifocal glasses with take to make sure that I am comfortable. They have all the fancy equipment including a machine that measures the fit by wearing a fancy thing and taking a digital picture of the face. They also don't use high pressure tactics to sell you frames. There's a private parking lot, so don't worry about door dings. Come here...
