As we arrive at the shore, the captain, Captain Tom, spotted us from afar and gave us a very welcoming greeting. He took pictures for us in front of the ship and tells us everything we need to know about the trip. The crew was amazing and very attentive. The weather was a little chilly today so Patrick, the superstar crew member, very kindly offered his spare hoodies to my friends who are freezing. We didn't catch any strip bass today, but we did manage to catch many blue fish. They are huge and really quite delicious. Ah yes! So once you have a fish on hook, the crew will help you pull it out of the water, and at the end fillet them for you. The fishing experience was really easy and relaxing because the crew is there to help with untangling the strings or helping us putting on baits. The bathroom was extremely clean and the indoor space is dry and comfortable. I like the fact that they have a separate restroom for the ladies, it is very considerate. This is my 3rd time fishing with the Atlantic Star and I'll definitely come back with more friends. Tips: - don't forget to tip the crew members well when you exit the ship, they worked really hard! - they have everything you need on board, just walk in and be prepared to catch some fish! - good for family with kids too

Full points for keeping us in the loop via email about the weather and the trip being postponed. Yesterday, we had glorious weather and the trip was terrific. I brought a party of four, we were well treated, ample parking, lots to do before/after the cruise. Atlantic Highlands is a charming place. The cruise was well narrated (who knew, love ya baby, that Telly Savalas had a house on the Navesink?) and being able to get a Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic for the g/f was a huge plus! Kudos to Captain Dan.

He is also very safety conscious and takes great pride in making sure all passengers are safe. The locations for the tours are all lovely, with the sunset cruises being among my favorites. Regardless of catching keepers, we were reeling them in all day long. we went from 7:30am to 2:30pm and between the 4 of us we hooked about 40 fish. Although we only had one keeper, it may have to do with the fact that the limit was raised to 18". These guys stick to the rules and don't let anyone keep shorts. Captain Hal put us on the fish, and we had a good day: I had four (4) shorts including a 17 and 1/2" fluke, a sea robin, a dogfish, and a KEEPER fluke. My fishing friend Gary caught at least 6 sea robins, a number of short fluke, and also a KEEPER. Deckhands John and Chuck could not do enough to make your trip a pleasant and memorable one. They netted the fish, undid line tangles, and provided helpful tips. I STRONGLY recommend Sea Tiger for your saltwater party boat fishing. Captain Hal is an EXCELLENT skipper. He will frequently come down and help the deckhands when the fish are really active. In addition to John and Chuck, Hal has a couple of deckhands---Mike and Jeremy---who were not working on July 25. But we have been on other trips with the Sea Tiger when Mike and Jeremy WERE on duty. Like John and Chuck, Mike and Jeremy are VERY hard workers and know their craft. In short, the Sea Tiger is a well-run boat from Captain Hal, all deckhands, good accommodations, good bait provided, and good fishing tackle if you need it. Go with the Sea Tiger.

I took one of the Seastreak ferries to go from Manhattan to the Jersey Shore. They go to four…read moreplaces on the Jersey Shore. They have ferries leaving from West 39th Street or Brookfield Place to Belford, NJ. Or, you can take a ferry from East 35th Street or South Street to Sandy Hook Beach, Atlantic Highlands, or the Highlands. Though departures and returns are not that frequent, they are scheduled in such a way that it makes a day trip to any of those four locations easy and convenient. The ship is clean and comfortable and round trip tickets are also only $49. The ride is only 40 minutes each way compared to a 90 minute drive. It was a real time saver. Many of these low reviews are from people using this company as a commuter ferry to some of their other destinations. This is not an option I would rely for that with their infrequent departures and the possibility of a delay if I am on a tight schedule. But for a day trip to the Jersey Shore, it's perfectly fine.
