Get an ice cream cone at Crazee's and walk along the Navesink River at this park in the center of Rumson. While not a large park it does have a couple of tennis courts and a playground. This park was also the location of a pivot scene in Kevin Smith's Chasing Amy. I remember how excited I got when I watched the movie and recognized the park. I am not sure if the swing set is still there because there is a high probability that the playground has been upgraded. read more

A well kept park with a variety of seashore themed playsets. You cannot go wrong with a park that is right on the Navasink river. A huge plus is the lack of rift raff at this particular location. Somehow Rumson keeps them away. The area also offers a nice ice cream shop and a fantastic local deli. Tennis courts too if you feel like hitting around the ball. read more

I tried the most expensive entree on their menu thinking it would be the best. Highly disappointed in their lobster risotto. It was flavorless, risotto undercooked to the point of being hard and crunchy in the middle. The lobster was cooked nicely. However, it would've been better if they cut the tail pieces into mouth size bites rather than leaving it whole. Tonight I tried Woody's lobster mac & cheese in SeaBright for less than half the price of VP's. Wood's seemed to have just as much lobster meat, mac cooked perfectly. Food is good. Service is AWFUL. Incredibly uncoordinated, unapologetic. STAY AWAY for a few months, let them learn how to run a restaurant first. Or they'll chapter out and experienced restauranteurs will take over. They didn't know they had a table, didn't have enough wait staff, had inexperienced kids pretending to work, and a frazzled owner trying to figure out what to do with customers. OMG! read more

We had an amazing dinner. Since we were a large group we had a collection of fabulous appetizers. One was better than another. The mussels were so delicious we licked the bowl. There were meatballs made of eggplant. Normally I dislike eggplant. They were delicious. The lobster avocado dumplings were to die for. The butter for the bread was deliciously seasoned. Definitely try the oysters. My husband had the lobster risotto. Excellent. The mushroom goat cheese ravioli was so interesting. We shared the bread pudding for desert. Great way to end the meal. Let me not neglect the great wine selection and the lovely decor and service. Highly recommend this restaurant read more
