There were so many activities to choose from--big swing, pontoon boat ride, sailing, kayaking, the giant lake slide, tie-dye, archery, axe throwing, rifle and BB shooting, climbing, candle making, and more. Most of the counselors were fantastic--great with kids and clearly passionate about what they do. The cabins are very basic, so be sure to bring your own chairs, sheets, and pillows, but the temperature controls made it comfortable. The meals had a nice variety and were surprisingly good for camp food. The last night's campfire, complete with a talent show and s'mores, was such a special way to end the weekend. While not all families were particularly social, the ones we connected with were great. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back again!

There were no aids who were watching this or paying attention to the children. When my child told one of the aids (Mostly college students) it was not escalated. I called the manager and they said this was common with the specific child. While the manager was polite, as a mother, I cannot trust my child to be safe here.

Took the fam here on MLK day weekend and we had a really enjoyable time overall. Super family-friendly vibe! The staff at the rental shop and ski school were patient and helpful. My 8-year-old's group lesson was excellent; the instructor had her linking turns by the end of the day. They were also very nice and gave her a great report card of how she did during her lesson. We also went to one of the snowtubing sessions. It was the first time for my kids and everyone had a great time. Be sure to try linking snowtubes with a bunch of people. It makes you go down twice as fast and much more exciting! It was a bit crowded though so be prepared to wait in line and avoid bumping into others on the ski trail. Would definitely come back for another family outing or to progress the kids' skiing. It's not Vail, but it's reliable, approachable, and feels like a classic local hill done right. Recommended for beginners, families, or anyone wanting a low-key ski day without the big crowds and prices of the larger mountains.

Last season I was informed by the Guest Services Director that my tickets had been used on a day that I was at work and my daughter at school. Nobody could have possibly used my tickets. When I disputed that there was total silence, no replies anymore. Shawnee also closed way earlier than Camelback last season. Not a bad resort, but better value somewhere else.

The one I was in has a full-size bed, which was very comfortable. The cabin also has two sets of bunk beds. The grounds also has two sets of pools - one indoor and one outdoor. The cafeteria served average food. Nothing too terrible. I personally enjoyed the breakfast options the most. The staff were awesome. They were able to accommodate our 250+ group of teens and our group was so grateful for this!

I spent 3 days 2 nights here with my partner on a church retreat in June. This was my first church…read moreretreat so I didn't have any expectations. The place is big. It's so big, they were accommodating 3 different groups the weekend I was there. The room I stayed in had a queen size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. I didn't get to visit other rooms to see what other layouts they had. I did hear something about a family room which accommodates families with children. For my room, the bathroom was small. They provide hotel size body wash, shampoo, and bar of soap. Definitely bring your own toiletries because what they provide was for appearances only. The bed was comfortable but I didn't sleep on their sheets. Before the retreat, everyone told me to bring a sleeping bag. The majority of my church group brought a sleeping bag and laid it on top of the bed to sleep. Which I did the same. One of the reasons for one negative star is the meal time. Breakfast was 8am to 9am, lunch was 12pm to 1pm, and dinner was 5pm to 6pm. I thought breakfast and lunch were too close together. I felt like I had to force myself to eat at lunch even though I wasn't really hungry. But if I didn't eat, I would have to wait until 5pm. Dinner at 5pm was ideal for me because that's when I eat dinner in general. However a lot of the retreat events ended 11pm. My church provides us with nighttime snacks. Definitely bring snacks with you and a gallon of water if you come here. In the cafeteria, when it's mealtime, it can get very crowded but the lines move fast since there are multiple serving stations. The food was good. They changed the menu each day. Throughout our stay, we mostly hung out at the chapel for the services. When we did small groups, we were able to find space outside or go to someone's room. The days we had free time, there were many activities here. Some people played pickleball or tennis. There was an outdoor swimming pool that was opened in the afternoon on Saturday. I didn't see anyone use the indoor swimming pool. It was a game room with air hockey and ping pong. My partner and I did the paddle boat. There was also a playground for kids. Just taking a walk around the place is a fun activity. However, the biggest downside and contribution to one less star was the goose poop. They were everywhere!! My morning walk with my partner was mostly focused on not stepping on poop. Our last night, my church had a bonfire. This place supplied the wood. Of course our guys went crazy and wanted to make the biggest fire possible. Haha. All in all, it was a nice place to have the retreat

This is just 20 minutes away from where my best friend lives. The place is open to the public and there is free parking. After we parked, we noticed that Resica falls is just a short distance from the parking area, I noticed a few picnic tables on the area where you can see the falls, they have installed a fence close to the water, at first I thought it is to prevent people from slipping and falling into the water but we saw a signage/warning that says "NO ONE IS PERMITTED BEYOND THE RAILING & CABLES, KNOWN VENOMOUS SNAKE HABITAT BEYOND THIS POINT". Oh Gosh!!!. Ever since reading the warning I never ventured around tall grasses in the area and I was always looking down, taking precautions for the possibility of snakes around. Luckily we never encountered any. It was a satisfactory visit to the falls with my friends, we just enjoyed taking photos of our outing.
