I brought a party of four, we were well treated, ample parking, lots to do before/after the cruise. Atlantic Highlands is a charming place. The cruise was well narrated (who knew, love ya baby, that Telly Savalas had a house on the Navesink?) and being able to get a Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic for the g/f was a huge plus! As we arrive at the shore, the captain, Captain Tom, spotted us from afar and gave us a very welcoming greeting. He took pictures for us in front of the ship and tells us everything we need to know about the trip. The crew was amazing and very attentive. The weather was a little chilly today so Patrick, the superstar crew member, very kindly offered his spare hoodies to my friends who are freezing. We didn't catch any strip bass today, but we did manage to catch many blue fish. They are huge and really quite delicious. Ah yes! So once you have a fish on hook, the crew will help you pull it out of the water, and at the end fillet them for you. The fishing experience was really easy and relaxing because the crew is there to help with untangling the strings or helping us putting on baits. The bathroom was extremely clean and the indoor space is dry and comfortable. I like the fact that they have a separate restroom for the ladies, it is very considerate. This is my 3rd time fishing with the Atlantic Star and I'll definitely come back with more friends. They were very helpful and patient with everyone. They assisted everyone with getting their catches off the hook and measuring the fluke to see if you had a keeper. We had our three kids with us and I found the boat to be very family friendly. Parking in the lot is free and if you're taking the first boat out it's plentiful.
