I had a haircut and basic color with Sandy in September and December 2025 for color touch up and bang trim. This came highly recommended by a close friend who is her loyal customer of 20+ years. Hence I was really to drive 15+ miles to try it out. It was my first time to have hair color. Sandy helped me chose a color that compliment my skin tone. She did the hair washings too. At the end of the first session, the cut was not exactly how I envisioned, She said trust her. It will frame my face better. Surely, in the days & months after, I received loads of compliments, not just friends & coworkers, but also strangers on the street! I went back for touch up and still receiving random compliments on the street. Sandy has 30+ years of experience and stayed up to date with the hair trends. She is fluent in Chinese too. Her work place is inside the hair salon next to the El Pollo Loco in a corner strip mall. No fancy decor but welcoming waiting area. Highly recommend to call ahead and make reservations as she is often booked solid. The place accepted Zelle / Venmo for payment in addition to the traditional cash/credit. Usually there are parking outside in the strip mall. With 2 tea shops , sometime you may have to wait a little for parking. read more

This was an all around terrible experience. Sandy was nice but does not seem like a skilled, experienced colorist. I came in with virgin black hair and said I wanted subtle highlights. I didn't want to use bleach to prevent damage from my thin hair. I showed her a few photos, and she said she couldn't do those without bleaching my hair; so she showed me another photo of a color she could do instead. I agreed but repeatedly saying, I do not like orange or brassy look. With jet black hair, this has happened to me in the past. She said ok. Drum roll: straight orange highlights! It was nothing like the color she had showed me. She said it's because she didn't bleach. I told her she should've just said she can't do the color without bleaching! Why did you show me something you can't do? She kept showing me other peoples hair that she did in the past that turned out a different color using that same hair dye. So I don't know what to say. She said she'll fix, no charge. She kept showing me hair color samples saying she can use this dye or that. I told her I'm not a professional colorist. I don't know what hair color dye to pick. I can only show you what hair color I want, and for her to tell me if she can do it or not. It was so frustrating discussing it with her. It was like she didn't know what color to use to get the outcome I needed and kept asking me to choose. How am I supposed to know? I thought that was part of her job??? She ultimately said to trust her... and she mixed a "toner and brown dye" and dyed my whole head to bring down the orange. She did bring it down but it's still red toned and far from what we originally planned. I wanted to cry! She charged me full price, I paid and hurried out without another word. I don't know if it was a language barrier or what. I kept saying, I don't think you understand what I want, and she kept saying she did. Overall, I highly do not recommend! I don't know what I'm missing with all the other great reviews. I legit chose her because of her reviews on yelp and thought she knew how to color Asian dark hair, but I was sadly very very wrong! read more
