The wife and I just moved to Dunedin recently so we are hoping around to all the different places. We stumbled onto the Sandpiper on accident and decided to visit. It was great to find this place! The food is great, although I've only been for breakfast. The Beef on Weck sandwich is sooooo soooo good. Its my favorite. The staff is super friendly as well. If this place is busy be aware that it may take some time to get your food. I dont fault places for time when its busy, Ive been a few times and only once was it slow. Nice people nice decor poor food. Very sloppily put together with little of the quality/expensive ingredients. Omelette lacked flavor and was loaded with onions and very little bacon maybe one piece and a pinch of cheese. Also not equally distributed. No love in the cooking for sure. Also who gives one piece of toast? For 13 dollars it's way over priced considering how cheap eggs and onions and potatoes are and that was 90 percent of the dish. Food and atmosphere are amazing. Service isn't. Today was the second time in a row I sat outside with my pup and wasn't even acknowledged let alone helped. Both times after nearly 15 minutes had passed, in which time multiple other groups sat down, got coffee and put in breakfast orders, I finally left. We came to Dunedin thinking there was a farmers market.. we were ill-informed lol the farmers market doesn't start for another month or so. We decided to take a walk toward the new Natures Food Patch when I had an urge for an iced coffee. I went inside, super cute. I think the owner made my coffee, he had that vibe. Last weekend we had some friends visiting from out of town who are coffee fanatics, so we wanted to take them somewhere local to grab a cuppa joe. We came early on a Saturday morning and it was not too crowded yet. They offer a wide selection of coffee here, as well as light breakfast choices like bagel sandwiches, etc. They also have a light lunch menu and craft beer available later in the day. The place has a very quaint feel to it, with a few tables inside as well as an outdoor patio if the weather is nice. On this particular visit I kept it simple and got an iced coffee and an egg cheese bagel sandwich. The coffee was okay, but too strong for my liking and they only have regular half/half, no flavored creamer, available. The egg sandwich was fine but took way too long to come out. I didn't receive it until well after my coffee was done. All in all I might give it another chance, but won't be rushing to come back soon. read more

Great food and great service! So glad we stopped in for brunch while we were visiting Dunedin. It's right in the middle of downtown and has a great outdoor patio. The staff was so inviting and food was great! We'll definitely return if we're ever back in the area. The chai was good and not overly sweet. Famous in the Buffalo/Rochester area. If you have never had one, you NEED to try it! Guy at next table was asking what it was. Waiter asked if he would like to change his order. I cut off a piece of my sandwich and passed it to him to try. After much protesting, he tried it. "Hey! Can I change my order?" Hubster ordered the Cuban. We absolutely love this place for breakfast! We stop at this place at least once a week for breakfast on the weekend when going bike riding on the pinellas trail. It's pretty much in downtown Dunedin on a nice quiet street. Food is amazing and very reasonably priced. The waitstaff and the owner are friendly. Looking from the outside of this place it has such a positive first impression. There is so much character from the rustic bike outside to the blue color of the cafe. I got an ice coffee which was very cheap and a lot for a little over two bucks. I did not like how the coffee cups were styrofoam it took away from the aesthetic not being able to see the actual iced coffee in the cup. For food I got a bagel with eggs. It came out very quickly and I had no complaints about my food. It was served with two slices of orange which was a nice refreshing touch. The service was fast and the people were very sweet. I got a glass of water which has an odd taste to it so I could not enjoy my water. All in all I would come back here and bring my friends for brunch. read more

Enjoyed a leisurely early Sunday breakfast at the Sandpiper. Ordered Eggs Benedict and a Latte. The dish is not on the regular menu, but is on the Specials board. I'd forgotten this from my previous visit but they do not serve home fries or hash browns. Not that I really needed them. To the point. The Eggs Bene was absolutely delicious. The English muffin was done very well, not too crispy nor too soft where the knife can't even cut it. The Hollandaise Sauce was quite nice, the right amount of tang to it. The eggs, sliced ham and tomato rounded out this very pleasant offering. The latte was great, as was the service.
