Came here on a busy day with some friends and all of our sandwiches were delicious and brought very quickly!

This place is excellent! Sandwiches are always great and the owner seems like a wonderful guy. Really, the sandwiches here are as good or better than High Street with virtually no wait. Parking is easy too. I also like that they seem to purposely not solicit tips. When I tried to get to a screen to add a tip, they just waived me off. This may have been a one off experience but it was appreciated. I've lived here 6 years and only started going a few months ago - it is an unassuming store front with limited hours. Lives up to the hype! Places like this is why I love using YELP. We were visiting and jonesing for a sandwhich. Absolutely do the Dutch crunch bread on your sandwich. We loved it so much we came back the next day for another sandwich. Sat outside to eat and watch all the cars doing the California "rolling stop" at the intersection lol. Located on the corner of Shell Beach Rd. and Esparto Ave. 5 space parking lot on the side and also street parking. This deli shop is small, but does have a couple of tables inside and some outside. You place your order by filling out a paper at the counter with your order selection & your name. I knew ahead of time what I wanted because I searched their menu. I had their 'Ever Roast Chicken' which is made on a Dutch Crunch Roll with slices on chicken, mayo, dijon, tomato, onion, lettuce, and bacon. They were out off bacon during my visit, bummer, so I had no choice but to try the sandwich without it. The bread was fresh, soft and an excellent choice for this sandwich. It was the perfect size and simply delicious. I was obsessed with it, I can only imagine if it had the bacon in it! Service was great, very welcoming, fast and efficient. Small sandwich shop that had a variety of premade sandwiches or a "make your own" option. I decided to get the Oahu Delight and I liked the sweet pineapple chunks and creamy avocado slices in the sandwich but the dutch crunch bread was a bit tough. It was very hard on the outside and thin in volume which scratched the inside of my mouth when eaten. The bread is a large part of a sandwich's identity and I think a tough bread ruins the rest of the sandwich despite the fillings being very good. The service took about 5 minutes to get my sandwich and I ordered through filling out a form. read more

Consistently delicious sandwiches. They are hot sandwiches with just the right combos. There are other places that have the same prices and deliver wayyyy less than this place. The taste is good, the temp is right, and the amount of sandwich is right too! Tiny storefront, big sandwich. When I say big, I don't mean length-wise. Their sandwiches are all a standard, manageable size. What I mean is that their sandwiches are PACKED. Like you need to unhinge your jaw like a snake to get your mouth around these things (maybe slightly exaggerated). You pretty much walk up to the counter, place your order on a sheet of paper, pay for it, wait 20 minutes, and then feast. There isn't much seating, so these sandwiches are a good idea to get on the go -- just don't plan on trying to eat these beasts in the car unless you intend on vacuuming it out later. My teen ordered the jerk chicken (sweet and slightly spicy), my husband got the MacGyver (big oil and vinegar vibes, super delicious), and I got the Oahu Delight (sensory overload in the best way possible -- creamy avocado, salty bacon, and slightly sweet pineapple create a really interesting dynamic on a sandwich). What a delicious sandwich! Got a turkey pesto and it was piled high with turkey and had the perfect amount of pesto. And the Dutch crunch roll might have been the best sandwich bread I ever had! My friend got the same sandwich. She usually eats half a sandwich but this one was too good and she ate it all. The place is tiny but we snagged a table. Since the Cental Coast's top sandwich place recently closed down (Cafe on Bridge street), I've been looking for new sandwich shops to try out. Sando's is like many other premium places like High Street Deli that have a diverse sandwich menu and where cool bread options (like Dutch Crunch) are available. But with that also comes the premium price. I'll start by saying there's nothing wrong with their sandwiches here at Sando's and you won't be disappointed. You're expectations might need to be tempered tho.. Most of the negative reviews are based on expectations not being met. After all, this place has over 200 five star reviews so you're expecting a lot. The sandwiches are on the smaller side and generally speaking they aren't the most aggressive with flavor. Something marked as spicy is really just the spice that comes from a Chipotle spread for example. Again, nothing wrong here. Price. It just feels like it's a buck or two more expensive than it should be. Sandwiches are kinda similar to Sprouts, and a Jersey Mike's GIANT sandwich is about the same price as Sando's standard sized ones. You're buying here to support a family business and it's a convienient location to trails and the beach. - A great place to grab a sandwich and eat at one of the many picnic tables at the Pismo Preserve. read more

This place was THE place to be on a weekday at lunch. We were driving through the area and just happened to pick Sando's as our lunch stop - and we weren't disappointed! The sandwiches were great, the staff was friendly, the wait took about 15 minutes (but honestly, we needed the time to stretch our legs), and they had a good variety of chips and bevs to choose from. I got an Italian sub, and it was everything I was hoping for! My co-sando's-eaters were also happy with their choices. Loved their Mario Brothers sandwich! It's a quaint sandwich shop that stays busy! Their menu is posted, but you grab a slip and fill out your slip. They're busy but will come out to pick up orders, hand out orders or answer any questions. The bread is fresh and lightly toasted. All of the meats were delicious. Thinly sliced and plentiful. The reviews are right their dutch crunch bread is pure perfection, follow that up with a perfectly layered and balanced veg and a delicious slice of pineapple on the Oahu and you have yourself a prize winning sandwich. Decided to add avocado to the ever roast since I just can't resist. We split both sandwiches and honestly can't say which one was better. Word of warning here, this place will make you want to come back the very next day. Sando's is small but mighty with a great beer selection and the classic accompanied chip selection to add on.
