Just when I was trying to stop being so liberal with my 5 star reviews we stop in on this place... boars head meats and cheeses (the best!!) you can choose from a huge menu of sandwiches or have it custom made. They have 9 different beers on tap, wine, about 25 different hot sauces. The service was very friendly and fast, the sandwich was delicious with the perfect amount of everything. My husband enjoyed the chili which came with bread.
Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try on our way to the beach. It's a small local place, and the food was great. It wasn't cheap but I think it was worth it. I suggest getting your food to go and eating down the street at the beach if the weather is decent. The view from the actual deli is a small parking lot, street, and not a great scene across the street. Service was excellent. My daughter and I shared one sandwich because it was large. My son ordered the large chili and almost finished it.
Good sandwiches at good prices. We arrived at 10:55 AM & they already had people waiting outside - they looked like locals who knew the shop opens at 11 AM. Friendly & quick service. I enjoyed my caprese sandwich as it had plenty of tomatoes, arugula, basil & balsamic dressing. It maybhave had pesto on it too as the sandwish was very fragrant when I bit into it. Hubby got italian trio & enjoyed it thoroughly. He said it was one of the best italian sandwiches he's had. When we are in the neighborhood in the future, we will definitely stop by again.
The sandwiches here are great portioned, taste good with fresh ingredients, and the service is friendly! I got a ham and cheese sandwich and it was the best ham and cheese sandwich I ever had from a shop! You can order from the ordering machine and they will bring the food out. Most people order ahead of time and then come pick it up it seems. That is the smart way to do it. The place has a few seats inside and the outside area has a few more. It's a small shop, but busy!
There are not a lot of independent sub sandwich spots in the Five Cities but we've found our place! Dune Side Deli in Oceano made us two incredible sandwiches with fresh bread, ample meat, and customized them to our particular tastes. My turkey was not the pressed meat you get at some places. It was "real" flavorful turkey. They will mix the veggies in with your tuna or separate (onions, celery, peppers). The staff was friendly and helpful and gave us suggestions for substitutes. There are tables to sit and enjoy your meal but it is just blocks from the beach so that's where we went to enjoy our sandwiches. We will return here many times I'm sure!
Food for the price was great, I'd definitely come back and the staff were friendly. A welcoming albeit small eating interior and exterior. Definitely beats out a lot of the eating places closer to the ocean strip!

Wow, I mean wow. This was my first time here and I absolutely loved it. I came in was greeted immediately, and when I told him it was my first time in the gentleman behind the counter, took the time to show me the menu and what they offered. It was amazing. I decided to choose a build your own sandwich. You grab a slip off the counter and fill it out. They have one slip for a traditional, build your own, and another one if you want a veggie option to build your own I chose the regular and I ended up getting a turkey sandwich. I grabbed a bag of chips and a drink and paid right at the counter. I went and sat down at a table and waited for my order. As I was there, I noticed that the establishment itself was very clean and well organized. They do have a bathroom, but you need to ask the employees for the code to use it. I also noticed that this place is very popular for pick up orders. There were so many people coming in and picking up orders to go. In a very short amount of time, my sandwich was ready. I picked it up and my goodness for the price. It is great value. All the ingredients were fresh and my sandwich tasted delicious. They have a great variety of chips and drink offerings from your traditional chips all the way to some brands you might not normally see. I highly recommend this place whether you're just calling an order and picking up before you head off to the beach or if you're coming to dine in. There's limited seating inside, but they also have some patio seating outside as well which is also limited.
Hidden gem!!! I'll be coming back and tasting more items. Fresh ingredients, clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. We dined in this time.
The sandwiches here were perfect. I got the pastrami Reuben. The sand which had plenty of sauce and every bite was just so enjoyable. 100/10 experience for sure. The people who were working were very attentive and made sure we got the help we needed. We went on a warm day, thankfully there was AC inside.
Found this place while craving a fresh sandwich! Really good and fresh ingredients and the price is actually reasonable, as far as sandos go. Friendly staff and quick service, definitely stop by if you're in the area and craving a really good and filling sandwich
It's amazing there isn't a line all the way out to the parking lot for this place. Excellent choice of deli sandwiches and burgers. They even have vegetarian options and meat options with separate menus for sandwiches. Have a great selection of chips. They have some great desserts and they serve beer. What's not to like?! It's very clean and well organized and priced well.

If you're looking for a sandwich that feels like pure happiness between two slices of bread, this deli is the spot. I ordered the Turkey Club, and it was everything you dream a sandwich should be. The bread was toasted perfectly--just the right crunch without being too hard. The turkey was stacked high, juicy, and flavorful, paired with fresh, crisp lettuce and thick slices of tomato that tasted like they came straight from the garden. This is the best sandwich i have had in all of California. I was just blown away by the quality and taste of this deli. Absulotely superior. Did a order pick up and got the Turkey Club and the sandwich cost $14 bucks. When I arrived it was ready to go which is awesome. For the price and portion that you get, so worth it. This sandwich was huge! Easily can be split between two people. The sandwich was honest just too notch. Turkey was shaved thin and tasted great. 10/10 sandwich. Super excited about this one!!! After visiting their website and gazing over all their mouthwatering photos, I found myself in the car and on my way!!! Walked in late lunch there were people placing orders and sitting. There is seating for 18 inside and more seating out front, such a beach town vibe Several refrigerators filled with various drinks and shelves with various chips They serve a variety of salads, sides and sweets The cashier/ order taker let us know that there are options for toasty-ness What drew me in was the look of the authentic Italian panini Now I wait for my food... My order a chicken pesto panino Without tomato, I don't like raw tomato so I thought I'd let someone enjoy it, to my surprise I was given slices of tomato, oops! No big deal, just take it off. The ciabatta crispy toasted on the outside soft on the inside, the pesto is so creamy and fresh, the mozzarella tastes amazing and the chicken, juicy, grilled and so fresh & tender! I would DEFINITELY get this again! My husband ordered the Loaded 4x4 he said it tasted like a baked potato. He doesn't Yelp so sorry if I can't explain that one better. LOL There were mildly busy still getting used to everything but great job to everyone! We both can't wait to try more! read more

Oh my goodness!!! THIS PLACE HAS SO MANY OPTIONS! I loved it !! Okay, so at first it was hard to decide what to order. They offer sandwiches, salads, and soups. Next, we debated whether to choose one of their suggested sandwiches or build our own, and in the end, we both opted for the build-your-own option. The customization choices for sandwiches are easily one of my favorite things about this place. You get to choose everything at this place. From the bread, meat, cheese, veggies, condiments, whether or not to have it panini-pressed, cut in half, and so much more. The variety of extras and fresh veggies is unmatched. To top it off, they have an impressive drink selection to complement their diverse sandwich menu and chip selections. I ordered oven-gold roasted turkey on a soft, untoasted French roll with provolone and yellow cheddar, mayo, yellow mustard, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, avocado, bacon, and a pickle spear. I paired it with jalapeño kettle chips and a Mexican Coke. It was exactly what I was looking for, but I am already looking forward to going back and trying a different sandwich, pairing it with the crinkle-cut dill potato chips, and enjoying a tea of some kind. The other sandwich ordered was just as great. It was made on a sourdough roll with mayonnaise, yellow mustard, green leaf lettuce, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, a pickle spear, salt, pepper, pepper jack and Muenster cheeses, olives, pepperoncini, mesquite-smoked turkey, and Bianco D'Oro salami. It was also cut in half to help make it easier to eat, but again, that was also an option, to not have the sandwich cut in half. This place thinks of everything. Both sandwiches were outstanding. The bread was incredibly soft and fresh, and the ingredients were flavorful and well-balanced. Additionally, the customer service was excellent, friendly, and helpful without feeling rushed. It's a small place, but they deliver big on taste and quality. I highly recommend Dune Side Deli to anyone looking for a great sandwich spot. Everything was fantastic!! We ordered Blazing Buffalo, Turkey Club, Italian Trio, Pasta salad!! My turkey club was amazing! Huge sandwich lots of meat, veggies were so fresh!! Wow, the first time we had food from this deli we were really impressed with the sandwiches. They were very good. I wanted to go in this time and pick up our lunch to go since they had such a great variety of options. They did not disappoint, so good. I hope they get more business and stay around for a long time. Support your small business. Its near a market, kind of hidden, but if you look for it, you will see it. I've spread the word to my friends and posted on Facebook. I'm getting feedback so I'm hoping that, this will be the beginning to a great future for this deli. They have a nice little seating area inside and outdoors as well. They serve beer too. We walked in and they immediately helped us with a smile and eager to take care of us. I'm going to try and come in at least once a month. I need to try many of their sandwich options! read more

They have a pretty decent selection of chips, candies, sodas, juices, Red Bulls and of course there's a few beers as your option. Giving this place 4 stars but it really deserves 3.5 stars, and i'm saying this because of the consistency.. this is a GRREATTT sandwich spot, and i love it, everything on the menu is great and the ingredients taste fresh as if they were cut that same day. however, my go-to sandwich here is the spicy snow plover and even though it is great, there are VARYING inconsistencies. I just don't appreciate how one day i can get a full sandwich and other days it's the thinnest slices of meat in between bread .. if it were actually consistent and i were to get the same sandwich every time, i would have a better review. I would be weary about the time you come in cause that could mean less meat/a lesser quality sandwich. I used to say that that this place really upheld to quality standards but after getting the SAME exact sandwich twice in one week and both looking completely different.. i can clearly tell that the quality lessens depending on what time you order. I would recommend to check out, but also proceed with caution, cause depending on the day you might get an appropriate amount of meat, and other days they might skimp you read more
