I live in a 90 year old house with what look to be the original solid brass locks which are beautiful -- WHEN THEY WORK. They are gigantic and vintage and make a statement. I had a Hell of a time getting them to work and spent a bloody fortune with another firm ending up with one that did not work though it had been worked on numerous times. I hate to imagine how much I spent. I called Sandfly Locksmith and they sent a mechanic to look at it. HE FIXED THE DAMN LOCK on the first try and in half an hour. Most importantly, he fixed discreet shortcomings that required adjustment, parts (good luck finding 90 year old lock parts), and expertise. It required craftsmanship to remove some of the broken parts, but he did it with ingenuity and cleverness. The mechanic also fixed things that required a bit of smash mouth locksmithing. In the end, there were a handful of substantial faults that he corrected in half an hour. He did not just spray some WD-40 in there and say a prayer. I like to recommend vendors, craftsmen, and trades that produce results and I heartily recommend Sandfly Locksmith - Derek was their wizard. We managed to lock ourselves out of the house one night recently. Stupid, I know. When you do a search for 24 hour on the web there are a whole bunch of number that come up promising 24 hour service and 100% satisfaction. Just to let you know, most of these took our names and number but in the end didn't get back to us. Those that responded said they would be able to help us in the morning - not useful. It's rare these days that a service call goes SO well, that's why I felt I had to share my experience after having such terrible locksmith experiences from other companies in the Savannah area. First of all Sandfly arrived exactly when they said they would, between 20 and 30 minutes after my call, they are very presentable and courteous. My car had previously been stolen so my key situation was a mess, none of my keys worked anymore and some worked for the ignition while I had NONE that worked in my door locks. Sandfly patiently listened to my problems and on the spot re-keyed my whole car while I waited! I didn't even know that was possible! Now I not only have a new electronic key but also a spare door key in case my battery dies again, that is a huge stress reliever and I didn't even have to take my car anywhere to get it done. Not only that, but he went above and beyond and actually jumped my car as well! On top of all of that Sandfly was more reasonably priced than any other locksmith I have used. Last time I locked myself out of my house the locksmith I called took 45 minutes to get into my door and actually damaged the door of my historical home in the process. Needed a key made after it broke and became stranded. After calling four times someone finally picks up. Says he will have his mobile service guy call me, which after an hour and a half he never does. So I find a way to get my vehicle back to my house. Then call again the next day. Says they can't make any more appointments and tells me to call back on Monday which it was Tuesday at the time. So a week goes by and I call and get an appointment scheduled for the following Tuesday says they will call when they are on their way. No call. Wasted the better half of my day waiting. WOW!!! I can not say enough kind words about Keith Rahn with Sandfly Locksmith!! Last Friday I was across the street from the business and my key would not open the truck door. I was quite nervous as my cell phone as well as other perishable items were in the truck and the temperature was very hot. I walked over and explained my problem and Keith quickly said let me grab some tools and I will be right there. I visited the Sandfly locksmith today Saturday November 18th 2017. I needed to get a replacement key for my Toyota Sequoia and it was with great difficulty that they were able to make a duplicate key. The key they started with was bent and there was no code to make a new key in the door so they had to fly by the seat of their pants to make a new key for me and it took much longer than a key should normally take but they were persistent and did a great job. In addition to that I had a lock that held the trailer hitch that was badly corroded and I couldn't get it off and they spent much time drilling that lock off for me. I couldn't have done that job myself and and they were so gracious with their time. I appreciate this Locksmith shop so much you can't go wrong using them. read more

Keith was beyond helpful to me today when I came in with an usual house key I needed to duplicate. (Home Depot had already tried and failed.) He made one for no cost to go try on my lock.
