With some of the best bedside manners in any physicians I have ever encountered, a genuine caring and compassionate approach to his patience and a direct but kind communication style, Dr. Gussous has successfully given back a huge part of my life activities back. Once I met the good doctor on a recommendation of my primary care physicion and we reviewed my back X-Rays and MRI, he gave me several options to address the issue. The options we discussed were conservative appraoches in nature and least intrusive with the highest potential chance of success and overall benefits for my condition. The L4-L5 TLIF surgery was very successful. The constant pain in my lower back and legs were gone. I resumed walking and normal activities within a couple weeks of the surgery and started playing golf and tennis around six months after the surgery. At the 1 year anniversary mark, I have had a full recovery and I am as active as I was in prior years before the surgery. I am grateful to Dr. Gussous for a succesful surgery and a great experince overall. When we met to discuss my Xray, you identified multiple irregularities and zeroed in on the real problem educating me on my condition and options. Since the appropriate surgery was a complicated procedure Xlif or Alif, you cautiously guided me to consider therapies first to see if we could alleviate the problem without surgery. The diagnosis was Spondylolisthesis, caused by degeneration. OrthoNorCal provided a complete suite of options, drug therapies, PT, epidurals, follow up appointments. After months of getting some relief but unable to return to the physical activities I loved, I called Dr. Coe and asked for another surgery consultation. He spent as much time as I needed discussing exactly what the surgery would entail and the outcome I could expect. In the spring of 2025, my husband, Jamie, needed to have his gallbladder removed after experiencing persistent problems and inflammation. His surgery was initially scheduled for about a month later, but when his symptoms continued to worsen, we contacted Dr. Nguyen. After discussing what Jamie was experiencing, we decided it was best not to wait--and it was a good thing we didn't. Dr. Nguyen performed the surgery the very next day at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Nguyen is not only an expert in his field, but he also has an exceptional bedside manner. He was attentive, reassuring, and continued to follow up after the procedure. His staff are super nice and very responsive. The waiting room very comfortable and stylish at the same time. "Now for the good part" I came in for what I suspected was a recurrence of a hernia. After consulting with Dr. Wynn and him checking me out; he was not confident that a hernia was my problem so he ordered a CAT scan with contrast. "Because of my past procedures" After getting the results back he informed me that I did not have a hernia and that the cause most likely is from scar tissue. The CAT scan also found a couple other issues so he referred me to a specialist. Dr. Nguyen is fantastic, he takes his time with you and he listens. He is also very personable.
