My son recommended we go here as they have been there before. I looks small from the outside but once inside it has about 16 billiard tables. It was quiet as we went at 12:30 pm on a Monday. We spent bout an hour and had fun. Lots of 80s music playing. read more

If you don't know where this place is, slow down on route 1 as you get close because you will pass it and possibly end up on 287 North. They are located just before the 287 exit. It's a BYOB establishment. The prices are reasonable, the staff is pretty cool, friendly. There's more than enough pool tables including a separate table in the far back which they use for live tournaments. The tables are in very good condition. The speakers are clear and loud and there's a nice variety of music. Ladies nights are Tuesdays. There's a lounge area to play PS3, chess, dominos, and cards. The bathroom is ok, clean. They are open 11 am - 2 am everyday. read more

I LOVE this place. Not pretentious or commercialized. This place has some serious players. My girlfriends and I come all the time, especially ladies night where we get in half price. First and foremost: be careful pulling into the parking lot from Rt. 1, there is a ginormous pothole. But once you make it inside, it is a great time. BYOB and fair prices. The owner is a talkative and fun guy. He told me about ladies night, and that seems like a great deal! I can see that other people really like it from some reviews. It's not totally first class, sometimes a ball would get stuck and some of the lamps were missing shades, but that didn't stop me from playing a few good games. Place is pretty cool for what it is...more importantly, where it is. It's kind of like Fat Cat in NYC, but it's not...namely because it's not in NYC and I have passed it 1 Million times. Anyway...the owner is super cool. When we got there, he was working on building a stage in the back of the place...that is awesome. There's tons of pool tables and ping pong tables. There is also foosball and on the website it says there is another game room in the back apparently for things like checkers or chess. I think it was $6 per person per hour and he has nights where there are student specials or specials for the ladies...that kinda thing. I don't play pool very well. A game will very well take me, 15-20 minutes (which I think is long in pool time, especially since I'm probably not doing any fancy bank shots or anything), but I don't care I still like playing, and even more so watching awesome players kick ass. That's what Sandcastle is for! My good buddy Dan C (not a Yelper, just don't want to put his whole government out here on this site) is basically a famous pool player who has been on ESPN and been featured in billiards magazines introduced me to this upper echelon pool hall, and I'm quite smitten with it! Why? Because you can come in, bring yourself a beer or cocktail or whatever and watch old-school and new-school pool gurus compete against each other. Sandcastle does not serve alcohol, I think because even though some may consider pool a bar sport, these guys take it VERY seriously and no one wants a drunk butthead running around with a chalked cue. There's a bunch of tables and they're bigger than anything you've seen at your local pub. There's also a giant one in the back of the house that is used during televised tournaments. Don't want to play pool? There's a couch in the front where you can lounge around and play PS3 or XBOX games. For the pool aficionado in your life, Sandcastle has a few fancy accessories for purchase, such as special chalks, tutorial DVDs, uh..and a bunch of other things that I don't know what they do. *shrug* There's special nights with special deals for the tables, you can order whatever food in the area you want, BYOB, and basically just kick it on a couch for however long you want. I love this place! We constantly passed this spot that's tucked off of Route 1. It's right before you exit to get onto 287. To think we got the balls four years ago to come inside the place and since have made this our go to billiards. The place is spacious! Depending on time and day is how crowded or not so crowded it will be. I love coming here after midnight on the weekends. It's BYOB which adds to the festivities. read more

I went with my wife and son for father's day. The owner was very welcoming. He even had his own teenage son there which was nice. Their outside is very bare, to the point where I went join checked to make sure it was OK for my family. When I went in it was very nice. Well kept up tables, very open with high ceilings, and even shorter sticks for the kids. I would recommend this place for a family activity. read more

The tables are well maintained and the place is clean. Plenty of off street parking. The owner goes out of his way to be friendly and he obviously loves the game. Went on a Saturday night with my girlfriend. Lots of professional sized tables. A bunch of guys were there playing pool. They all looked like they've been playing pool their whole lives. That's good for the reputation of this place. If you're a diehard pool player then this place will work great for you. They have a section in the back with one single pool table and arena seating around it. Its probably for special events/tournaments. They have some accessories for sale. The food & drink is typical vending machine type of food. I didn't see any ping pong or foosball tables. Big TV in the front in a lounge area. Lots of TVs always playing sports games. The music they were playing when we went was dreadful. The pricing was not to my liking - $18 for two people who played for a little more than one hour. Idk...that seemed a bit much for me. I'll def go back though because this place is a better deal than other local pool halls. read more
