The bartender told me they don't have coffee and that I'd have to go downstairs. I looked as disappointed as I could, and he offered to go down for me. I asked them if I could take it upstairs to the music and they said they serve coffee up there now, they have an espresso machine. I wonder how that transpired. As Marriott Platinum Elite members booking through Luminous, we expected a stronger breakfast benefit. The included "free" breakfast was a continental basket, which felt underwhelming compared to other Luminous properties. The room was also small for being labeled "premium," and there was no private balcony. The bed was squeaky, and the soundproofing between rooms was not good. For a hotel that seems ideal for a romantic or intimate coastal weekend, that part was definitely unfortunate. The $9 refillable water also felt excessive. Overall, the hotel has an incredible setting, but the room experience and elite/Luminous benefits did not quite live up to the premium branding.
