The food was phenomenal. Very fresh and great quality sashimi. Coming from NorCal this was one of the best sashimi dishes I've had in some time. A must stop if your into Japanese cuisine. It didn't come with any wasabi or ginger, but we did get chop sticks! Even gas station sushi comes with ginger and wasabi. A tub of mango, pineapple, or watermelon was only two dollars each! They also had a lot of baked goods that looked yummy and a small food court. I also tried the flan, which was very delicious and not too sweet (which is how I like it). Overall, great grocery store! I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Gigante super mercado! This supermarket is huge!…read more This big supermarket has everything you'll need for a beach holiday! It's a regular supermarket, but I suspect that the locals don't shop here at all. The prices are pretty high, and much of the food isn't quite practical. This is a two story grocery store- not counting the parking. Be sure that you don't miss the top floor, where all the liquor and food hall is. Nom! Parking is on the bottom floor. They sell you validation at the cash register. Beware- the grocery bagger is looking for tips. My favorite part of the supermarket is all the cheap Mexican gifts they sell, with clearly marked prices. Actually, many of them are cheaper than the flea market down the way, because you don't have to haggle and deal with the cat calls from the clerks. Beware of the touts selling excursions and whatnot at the entrance. Just because they're in a supermarket doesn't mean they can't take advantage of gringos. This supermarket gets awfully busy in the afternoon. The aisles are narrow. It's best to come at an off time.

Atmosphere was very nice, well lit, comfortable, traditional and clean. In fact our server inquired if the temperature was comfortable and adjusted it to make it cooler. Started with wet cloth (not hot), and a cucumber and sesame appetizer. The food was presented beautifully and was a substantial size, reasonably priced. Chicken teriyaki , chicken fried rice, shrimp and vegetable tempura were perfect.
