If you are looking for great quality in meat, this is the place. If I make pozole, ribs, or need meat for a nice bbq, this is where I get it. You will not be disappointed. They make their carnitas in house. They have tamales, and I'm just a tad picky about them, and personally I think they're ok. They don't have a big selection in produce but they do carry the basics. Always fresh! The service is excellent!! Never have I seen staff be rude or careless. They are eager to help and honestly they are truly the warmest people! The Torta combinada is chefs kiss and my husband loves the pechuga empanizada torta. They are pricy though. The salsa is not what it was as back in the day (about 6+ years ago they changed it). The salsa is ok but the old one was 1000x better. But the Torta combinada is my favorite. Pricy but fire. The hours of operation are weak for a taco place but since they are like a bank it's understandable. I wish prices went down a bit to like $11 per torta, the salsa went back to the old school one, and the hours extended to like 8:30. The market seem good for asada (only thing I've gotten at the market the few times I've been). The quality of the meat and cut seems good. The food stand outside is just OK. The asada burrito has meat that is very disappointing and slightly wierd tasting. Doesn't seem like quality meat. They should use what they have at the market and throw it on an open flame. I'd give the asada tacos and burritos here a 2 out of 5 stars. Not that hard to make good asada, and this place misses the mark. OK place when you're desperate for some food. It can be hit or miss as far as the quality of the meats and chicken here. I usually get the tacos but quite often there's too much Grizzle in the chicken tacos. But the best thing is if you call the order in the head and I'll be ready when you pick it up which is a serious timesaver. We came to buy some marinated carne asada to grill up for dinner. Oh man, so so so good. They marinated it in the store for you then wrap it up in tinfoil with onions. $8.99 per pound they said, but it wasn't clearly marked. We let it sit in the fridge for 2 days before cooking and it was simply amazing. This is a small market, not large like Northgate down the street. I try to be extremely objective when leaving reviews. I don't leave two stars unless I am extremely disappointed. Obviously, I was. I ordered two carne asada tacos. When I sat down to eat them, they were ground beef tacos. I was very sad, because I was already at home, so I couldn't go back. I guess I am partially to blame for not checking my order. But how do you screw up two tacos? The salsa was so-so at best and the seasonings were the same. This is probably a good place to order beef, pork and chicken from. I should have called to find out what was in the breakfast burrito before ordering it. The breakfast burrito contained rice, peas and bits of carrots (from frozen or canned) mixed with refried beans (seemed to be from a can) eggs and bacon. They give you a lot of salsa and chips, neither of which are good, so it's just a waste. Aside from the fact that the ingredients of their breakfast burritos seemed odd to me, I gave the one I had delivered a try. It was dry, two bites and in the trash it went. Personally, I think a good breakfast burrito has eggs, potatoes, cheese, bacon or chorizo with salsa on the side. Maybe Sanchez Meat will change how they make their burritos?
