I went in looking for a piece of marble for a shower seat I'm building. The lady, who later told me…read moreshe was the owner's mother, was very helpful in showing me all the types of marble, and going through pricing with me. She estimated $180 plus tax. I told her I would email her son to confirm order. I emailed Lucas Olivera the interaction I had with the lady in his showroom and all the details of my needs. He thanked me for my business and sent me an estimate for a little over $200. I didn't mind it much. The estimate also stated "the color I have is pure white quartz." Colors have strange names so I paid no mind and in later emails I always referred to the piece as marble. He ignored my wording and from there on referred to it as "the piece." I asked for pictures to make sure it was what I wanted, but when I realized he was never going to send them I put the order in anyway. I went to pick up the piece to find he had made it from engineered quartz. I hated it. I couldn't take it. He told me he stated quartz, so I looked back on the emails and saw how he had worded it. Thinking it was a simple misunderstanding, I asked if we could do the piece in marble like I've been asking from the very beginning. He emailed me that marble is more expensive and would be $430. What a waste of time! First he makes my order in whatever he wanted ignoring my request, charges me the same amount his mother estimated for marble, and then tries to charge me over double the price. I went to Rockaway Granite and Marble $160.

The first job was to take down and rebuild a very old worn out deck. The job completed on time and at the price quote. The craftsmenship was impressive. I then added the ronovation of a shed used for gardening supplies. Again the workmanship and finished product was outstanding. By this point I was completely confident in the quality of work done by IC Home Design. Next was taking up an old kitchen floor with several of flooring including old 4 x4 tile. IC Home Design quickly removed flooring and prepared the surface for new wall to wall tile which he also installed. I wanted the new kitchen cabinets to sit on the new tile. Ultimately he installed the new cabinets and finished off the kitchen install including new appliances, replacing a window with rotted wood and adding some additional electrical outlets. Next up IC Homes completely updated a secondary bathroom and then total renovated the master bathroom. Later IC Home found a floor refinisher to sand down the original hardwood floors and stain the floors which looked like new when he finished. All this activity took place while my eldery friend was still living in the home. Horia was very considerate of her living in the midst of all this mayhem and did little things to help her manage her way thorugh it all. I can't speak highly enough of the the quality of work done by Horia and his company I C Home Design. I would give this place 100 stars if I could! I found Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath when searching…read moreonline for nearby places I could visit to compare prices to a quote I had already received from elsewhere. After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project. Even when I had a small problem with an outside vendor, he took care of it for me and made sure it was resolved immediately. He kept on top of everything going on and kept me updated accordingly. I cannot possibly thank Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath enough for all their hard work. Everyone who has walked into our house cannot stop talking about how beautiful it is and about the quality of the work! And I can never thank Furkhan enough for his insights and suggestions and handling the project with such professionalism as well as following up on every detail to ensure the incredible results we achieved! This was the second time I've used Monk's for painting projects at my home in Morris Plains, and…read moreonce again I was extremely happy with the results. The first project, several years ago, involved painting multiple interior rooms and crown molding. Most recently, I hired them to paint three new structural porch columns and my front door. While that may sound like a straightforward job, it really wasn't. Black structural columns are not something you see every day, so preparation, product selection, and attention to detail were critical to getting the look I wanted and ensuring the finish would hold up to the elements. Bob came out to provide the estimate. He was professional, easy to work with, and, most importantly, took the time to listen to what I was trying to achieve and the concerns I had about the project. He was also able to get the work scheduled within the same week. I worked closely with Ron, who I believe was the lead painter on the job. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I supplied the INSL-X primer recommended for fiberglass columns and discussed paint options with him. He agreed with the approach and helped ensure the project was done the right way rather than just the fastest way. The work took two full days and exceeded my expectations. The crew took great care to protect my brand-new porch, covering the decking and railings thoroughly so there was no risk of paint getting where it didn't belong. What really stood out was the follow-up. Both Bob and Ron checked in independently after the work was completed to make sure I was satisfied. They also made it clear that if any issues came up, they would come back and make it right. The pricing was fair, the workmanship was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding from start to finish. It's refreshing to work with a company that still takes pride in doing quality work and standing behind it. I plan to use Monk's again next year for additional interior painting projects and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Please note "Oh Michael helped us with our insurance claim" (but no real explanation of services provided) "Michael didnt damage anything" - Well, clearly you're covering up for something there! We are 8 months in and needed to call the police to document all the damage this company has done to our property. What started out as a $30k estimate for a kitchen renovation - is now at $80,000+. You want to know why? Michael will sell you a new kitchen, but it's all bait and switch. Once you think the project is paid for, you realize he may have charged you $5,000 for a new ceiling, but that was only the REMOVAL of the sheetrock - and now he wants another $5,000 to replace it! BBC's fees have been three times what we've been quoted elsewhere. We were told two old windows were a custom size, they needed to be special ordered - would take 5-7 weeks to come in and cost $4,700. Three days later we had a window company come by and say "No those aren't custom, we can have them here in 10 days" And what was the cost?? $1,700 - THREE THOUSAND less, for two windows!!?? Why was he charging us almost FIVE GRAND and LYING that they were special order??? We have had a plumber come and tell us the $1200 (3 ft) gas line they did was made from a bunch of pipe and fittings from Home Depot - they didn't even give us a nice continuous gas line. Everything needs to be redone!!! They show up one day a week, IF THAT. In 8 months, they have taken 114 (BUSINESS DAYS) OFF! So do the math, thats an average of 5-9 actually days of work PER MONTH. The final straw was Michael telling us unless we paid 90% of our final payment (when the work hasn't even been done and HE owes US money) that he would not be refinishing our floors that BBC DAMAGED!!!!! Please see these photos, they never covered our gorgeous original 1925 hardwood floors and dumped all their stuff on it without a care in the world! Throughout this entire process every time we would mention BBC to our close friends and family - they would be shocked and appalled at the kind of mess we were in. There is no way this company will remain in business for the foreseeable future with these tactics. Also check Angie's List for other bad reviews - don't believe what you see on here.
