They've been around since 1886, and you can feel that long-standing pride and tradition the moment you walk in. Most of their produce is locally grown, which makes everything taste so fresh and flavorful -- except for the mangoes and kiwis, which they source elsewhere. The fruits, jams, vegetables, and snacks are beautifully displayed and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and always willing to help if you're looking for something specific. The store is small and easy to navigate, and clearly run with care. It's the kind of place that makes you feel good about supporting local farmers while getting great quality at the same time. Wish we had this in L.A.! If you're a local or on your way to the National Parks, stop by and grab some fruit and snacks -- you won't regret it!!!

They cracked open with ripeness! There was a really adorable little hay stack enclosed section where they had the larger size pumpkins located. There were corn stalks, small pumpkins, gourds, and a scarecrow. Adorable; my nephew and I had fun picking out a pumpkin in the cordoned off haystack area. They also offer fresh honey, dehydrated fruits, bagged nuts and tons of produce. The woman operating it was friendly and patient with us as we hemmed, hawed and guffawed at the options available. Stop in! It's right off the road with easy parking and easy in/out.

I finally had a chance this summer on a day off to take the 40 minute drive and check it out. I was not disappointed. This is a small but year-round farm stand right off the side of the road with gravel space for cars to park. It is not greatly protected from the elements--and it was a hot hot day. I'm glad to see they at least had a few fans for the employees. The owner regularly works her stand, and when I was there, she offered to cut some fresh herbs or flowers for me while I perused the wonderful assortment of fruits, veggies and local honey. I ended up with some of the sweetest green grapes I've ever tried, a few different honeys to try (avocado and orange blossom), some freshly roasted peanuts, cucumbers, and an assortment of stone fruit. Everything was delicious, but the grapes were my favorite. Check out Sweet Girl Farms on Social media, or check out their website. They are active in the community, help to support other community growers (they even have eggs and other offerings), and enjoy a worthwhile visit to what should soon obtain the title of local treasure. We were able to grab the last of the season's navel and Cara Cara oranges, along with some fresh lemons. Everything was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. We also picked up some dates, which are absolutely delicious. I love mine stuffed with good Irish butter and cheddar, it's the perfect sweet and savory combo. My wife prefers hers with Skippy peanut butter, and she absolutely loves them. As always, the staff were wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. It's become a bit of a tradition for us, and we'll definitely keep coming back every time we're in the area.
