Stay away from this place they tried to get me to pay $400 plus for my sons glasses . When our insurance covers up to two pairs . They said because they don't partner with my insurance but they took our son as a patient with that insurance so it's crazy talk . I received multiple text and voice messages to make an appointment for my son (a minor). So I finally did. The automated system was user-friendly and I was happy to take that off of my "to do" list. When my son went in this morning with his Uncle, he was refused service by the doctor. He was informed that the doctor didn't feel comfortable seeing our family. WARNING! CHECK YOUR INSURANCE!! As someone who has worn contacts majority of my life I understand what my insurance entails. I decided to go to San Pedro Optometry since it was close to our home. When I came in the receptionist told me that I'd pay my co-pay ($10) + contact fit fee of $45 I didn't question that too much since it was only $55 but after I got done with Dr. Jennifer who was great! Another lady told me that I'd have to pay out of pocket $155 for my eye exam which doesn't make sense since I have insurance. She then proceeded to tell me that my insurance doesn't cover my exam and that they can only use my insurance for my eye exam if I buy my contacts there as well. Which made no sense because I HAVE INSURANCE! And I've never had to pay for my exam before. After some pushback she came back and told me that she was able to bill my insurance for my eye exam and that I only had to pay what they quoted me in the beginning. But when I left I still felt like something was off. So I called my insurance and it showed that the office billed my insurance the contact fit and follow up which is $40 and they charged me $45 out the door for the contact Fit and follow up as well! So they were double dipping! I should've left only paying my $10. I called them back and they ended up refunding me but with how this whole interaction went with them it doesn't sound like this was an "accident" It sounds like they probably do this all the time but no one has ever questioned them on it. This place is not integrous at all! DO NOT GO. Dr. Jennifer was great but how they do their billing is not! I will not be back and I'm writing this so you all are aware as well! read more

They never answered the phone. Took over a month to give me my glasses. When I called for them they stated they had not even worked on them yet. There no help with any questions. Do yourself a HUGE favor and never consider coming to this office. The staff is beyond rude and inconsiderate which seemed to be something Dr. Che was taking care of. Now it seems after going for years and it just kept getting worse, the Dr has to be the source for allowing, enabling, and now participating in such treatment and abuse of customers. For years she blamed her staff for poor ethics, and it seems she hid behind them and used them to cover the source of the poor business model is in fact possibly her...I have been gaslit, ignored, lied to and denied services due to attitudes and egos. I have never been treated so poorly as well as charged so much money that was on behalf of staff negligence and/or mistakes. This office will not ever help you with an issue, you will need to book an optical appointment for the many issues you WILL most definitely encounter with this narcissistic staff system. You will pay more than you ever anticipated, I paid over $800 for glasses I absolutely hate and were not made correctly, for which the unprofessional staff was to blame. I was not in any way anticipating this cost and was in fact misquoted due to staff negligence/ignorance...Dr Che assured me I could call her to avoid further issues which was another lie. I called to no avail and went in person finally to try to get answers and was told I would need to book an optical appointment just to ask a question. I could see Dr. Che so I walk back to her and was followed by her very rude esthetician and I was gaslit, teamed up on as well as denied service by both Dr Che and her esthetician because I had to demand answers for the many lies that led me to incur a financial defecit after again lies and misrepresentation of products ordered and damaged incurred to items as a result of staff negligence to specific needs...This is by far the worst service and personal treatment I have ever received by a medical office. The optical care by Dr. Che however is accurate and I trust the prescriptions and assessments provided by her. She is a great doctor, however only clinically speaking. I can say everyone I have encountered at this office, Dr included, are people I really would never want to have customer service from ever, also I would never trust them with taking into consideration the money spent on covering the mistakes and lack of communication as well as dishonesty from the entire staff. Pass this place by quickly if you value customer care as well as consideration and honesty regarding the money you are spending or are able to spend. This place does not care about any of it. You will be treated borderline abusively and then asked to pay for it. Hard pass. So disappointing as the clinical assessments are quite good. Dr O'Brien would be so sad to see this is who he left his Optometry practice and legacy to. Such a shame really. Seems so difficult to find integrity nowadays. This was just that. Zero integrity, zero care, zero respect, zero compassion, zero manners, I could go on and on but this is my concise review of how awful my experience here has been. I am being very kind and I hope this is clear. I have never experienced worse treatment. This entire business is run by narcissists. I almost did not post this review and as a person who gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, I attempted to schedule and they claimed I could not be scheduled as they had an alert on my file to speak to a manager to schedule me. I am a very peaceful person and have only asked for honesty and integrity. I have never acted in any way to warrant being "flagged". Only a narcissist can't take it when you uncover their lies. This is what is now happening. Continued gaslighting, blame shifting, and denial of responsibility... look up narcissist tactics, it almost entirely describes this business model of San Pedro optometry. The receptionist I spoke to most recently seemed sweet however. To this young lady, I suggest looking for a plan B job. All employees have been fired as long as I have come here as a cover for the poor business ethic by the doctors. You will be blamed for the misconduct and probably fired like all of the other employees. In short, do not work for, or give this place business. I have never seen such a horrifying display of mistreatment of people in general. And to those who have experienced this as well, I hope this review is validating to all victims both patient and employees, it is not your fault, and you didn't do anything to deserve how you were treated and the things you were accused of while at San Pedro Optometry. Dr. Che was highly recommend from dr Obrian as he retired and all are records were transferred to her. I just had my first appointment this past Friday and it was a wonderful experience. Myself , my 5 year old son & my almost 11 year old were seen. She is so kind and takes her time & is very , very , very good with children. I was nervous for the little one since he isn't fond of any doctor , but he is excited to come back to visit dr.che. Dr Che is wonderful but since Dr Moore and Candice left it is not the same. The staff is not so great, hardly ever answer the phones and putting my Prescription together on my glasses, it's a little nerve-racking they seem unsure. I wish I can give it zero stars. Maria the receptionist sits there and never picks up the phone. She also doesn't call in prescriptions. I verified these twice w my Vons pharmacy. She sits there and let's voicemail pick up or she hangs up on you. I had to go in person to ask for my son's prescription he was under a lot of discomfort and his eye medication was not sent to pharmacy. I had to call myself because the Peninsula Pharmacy she wanted me to use did not have it. She had said she called to verify but it was not true. My son had to wait until the evening of the next day because she never sent the prescription. When we got the bill I called my insurance to make sure it was correct we have PPO insurance. I was not surprised the receptionist again had not submitted the claim correctly. Stay away from here. I tried to call to tell them about this Maria continues to hang up the phone and I left a voicemail. I don't want to deal with this bad customer service I will never go back. Thank goodness there's a ton of eye doctors to choose from in LA. Save yourself the trouble and go some where else. They clearly do not need the community's business. read more

The Dr. is very nice but I had to go back 4 different times and my glasses are still not right. The first two times my new glasses broke while they were adjusting them. The 3rd and 4th time, my prescription just wasn't right. I tried to explain that I can see better without the glasses then with them. It was incredibly frustrating. So I spent a lot of money on glasses I probably won't wear. I definitely will not be going back. The parking is terrible too. read more

Doctor Che is friendly, pay attention to detail, professional and the whole check up process is professional and she makes me feel comfortable. I received my glasses today and the lens Doc Che prescribed is very accurate and now I am able to see clearly again with the lens I got from Doc Che. Dr Che is an excellent optometrist, very detailed, listens to what your preferences are and is creative in her approach to solving more complex vision issues. The best eye care office that you can imagine. I went there on Monday as a new/old patient ( I was a patient of Dr. O'Brien's). I was very impressed. As soon as you walk in the door, you are welcomed by the receptionist, who gives her name along with a great smile. Then the medical assistant calls you in and again welcomes you and gives you her name. Then you meet the doctor. I did not feel rushed at all. The doctor spent a great deal of time with me. I had gone to another eye care office in San Pedro for an eye exam and new glasses. The charge was outrageous, very poor patient care, no one wanted to give their name and the doctor changed my presciption three times and two pairs of frames were damaged. Needless to say I am a patient of Dr. Che's for life. Thank you all for taking such great care of me. read more

Located just a few blocks from downtown San Pedro and a few blocks from the port of LA, this optometry is easy to locate. The stuff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I came in here to have my annual eye exam with Dr. Wong. After a thru exam and getting my results I was given an option of putting off getting glasses or getting a pair. Because my vision was getting a bit blurry at night I chose to order a pair. Let me tell you, they have a big variety of frames to pick from for both women and men. I probably tried on every frame possible until I was happy with my choice and the staff was very patient with me. Just now, a week later after my exam I got a call from the optometry telling me that my glasses are ready and I'm welcome to pick them up at any time!
