My fiancé needed a same-day appointment before Friday, and as a brand-new patient, I honestly wasn't expecting much in terms of availability--especially on such short notice. This was actually the fourth office I had called, and by that point I was preparing myself to keep searching. From the moment Geneve answered the phone, though, everything changed. She was incredibly knowledgeable, well-spoken, personable, and genuinely kind. Our conversation felt less like I was speaking to someone at a medical office and more like I was talking to a friend I'd known for years. She even laughed with me while I jokingly vented about my fiancé's habit of waiting until the last minute to schedule appointments! Although the only appointment initially available was later in the afternoon--which wasn't ideal since my fiancé works third shift and needs his sleep--Geneve never made me feel like I was asking for too much. She simply said she'd verify his insurance information and promised to call me back if anything changed. I barely had time to consider calling another office before my phone rang again. She had already confirmed his insurance, and while we were talking, one of her coworkers mentioned that an earlier appointment had just opened due to a cancellation. It honestly couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The entire scheduling process was seamless, quick, and stress-free. Geneve's professionalism, positive attitude, and genuine eagerness to help made what could have been a frustrating morning into such a wonderful experience. Calling at 8:06 in the morning and being greeted with that level of warmth, patience, and enthusiasm truly made my day. Although I wasn't the patient, my fiancé had nothing but wonderful things to say about his visit. He mentioned how beautiful the office was and how thorough everyone was throughout his appointment. Since it had been well over 20 years since his last eye exam, he was pleasantly surprised by how comprehensive everything was. He also spoke very highly of the ophthalmologist, saying she were incredibly knowledgeable, informative, and never made him feel rushed. They took the time to answer any questions he might have had and made the entire experience comfortable from beginning to end. To Geneve: thank you for going above and beyond. Your communication skills, compassion, and dedication to helping people are truly exceptional. Employees like you are the reason people become lifelong patients. Our pediatrician's office very enthusiastically recommended PVFV, and it turned out to be a great referral! This was one of the most thorough and easiest appointments we have ever had. They ran all sorts of tests until they were very certain what our little one needed, but the whole process ended up being pretty easy and low stress because every person there, from the doctors to the staff, was just beyond kind and engaging. Our little one was excited about glasses and literally cheering about getting them by the end of the appointment. We also love that this is a local family practice, which makes for a much more personal and connected experience. You can tell they are really invested in the wellbeing of their patients, and we saw a handful of regular patients who obviously felt very comfortable and happy there.

I've been using this office for years. I believe this was my 6th annual exam and I always get…read moremulti-focal contacts, I've never used them for glasses. This year there was a new doctor who did my exam. I honestly didn't feel it was as thorough as it has been in the past. At my previous exams the doctor always counseled me about wearing my contacts less and not to exceed the "daily" wear. I can remember being shown models with blood vessels encroaching on my Iris and was told that they wanted to see those decrease. This year when I asked the new doctor about it, she said there were no problems. Since my wear pattern has remained fairly consistent, I doubt they disappeared, but let it go. At the end of my appointment, after my eyes were dilated, the doctor had me put the new lenses on to check fit and gave them her blessing. I couldn't see very well, but we both chalked that up to the dilation. Unfortunately when I woke up the next morning I still couldn't see. I left a message at the office (which was never returned) and went on with my day thinking my eyes were taking a long time to undilate. I fell TWICE walking bad enough to go to my regular doctor the next day. I also left another message for the eye doctor, which again was not returned. I Ubered to my regular doctor because I couldn't see to drive and she ordered wrist and knee x-rays due to the falls and referred me to an ophtamologist. The next day I thought to put in lenses from my previous prescription and voila, I could see again. This time I emailed the office copies of the packages from my old and new lenses and copies of old prescriptions. The only difference I could see was that the old package had additional numbers on it that the new didn't. The office finally called me back and I said I thought I received the wrong lenses. They argued with me that I had been given the correct lenses for distance. I don't know the lingo, I pay them for a service and every year for FIVE YEARS the only lenses I ever received or ordered were multi-focal, so NO, you DID NOT give me the right lenses. They had a different doctor call me back and I explained the whole thing to her. She understood what I was talking about and told me to cone in for new lenses anytime and that they would just change them out. I went a couple of hours later and again the girl, I think she was the optician, argued with me that I had been given the right lenses and she made me sit and wait until the doctor was done with her patient. Luckily the doctor I saw that Friday (my original appointment was Tuesday) was incredibly professional and kind. She was the first person in the entire practice to admit the mistake, apologize and work to defuse the situation. She provided the correct lenses and checked my vision against the eye charts while I was wearing them. Needless to say that I won't be returning nor even trusting them to order my contacts. There are a lot of choices out there and once trust is gone in a doctor, they have to work really hard to regain it. These folks seem to be set on proving they were right rather than caring about my health and providing me the right vision product. I DO NOT recommend. My husband and I came in simply because it was time for our checkups, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We went in thinking we might need contacts, but thankfully we're at a level where they weren't necessary (yay!). The exam itself was thorough, efficient, and surprisingly easy. Even the dreaded air test for glaucoma, which I usually hate, was quick and painless. The paperwork was clear and easy to complete, which was such a relief compared to other offices where forms feel overwhelming or confusing (almost punitive LOL). I also loved the office ydecor. It's full of travel souvenirs and sports memorabilia, which gives the space so much personality and warmth. I really appreciate offices that feel personal and welcoming rather than cold or sterile. Dr. Au is truly exceptional. He's patient, funny, and genuinely caring. What really stood out to me was that he took the time to get to know us: our lifestyle, habits, and reasons for coming in, and offered personalized advice that actually felt doable. It was my first visit, and while I was sitting on the sofa waiting for my appointment, a staff member, I believe her name was Bree, came over to apologize for the delay and explain why things were taking a little longer than usual. I appreciated her thoughtfulness. Sheryl was also kind and helpful with my insurance, handling everything in a respectful manner. I didn't want to make the drive to my eye doctor in OC so I contacted this office and they were able to squeeze me in the same day. Thank you so much!! The staff was friendly, patient and professional. I have PPO insurance so I was able to go with whomever so that helped. In keeping with the friendly and approachable theme - Doctor Florister was also very friendly, patient and professional. And quite funny. She was a bit alarmed that I had rinsed off the top layer of my eye but reassured me that the eye will heal itself in a day or two if I stopped rinsing. The moral of the story I learned is that if something gets caught in your eyes- just rinse continuously for the first 15 minutes and then stop - whatever is in there would come out by then if not then no amount of continued rinsing would help. Don't be an idiot like me and rinse every two hours ! ‍‍ My eyes are back to normal now with the use of eye ointment and gel drops. No prescription medication needed and not antibiotics because she didn't think it was infected. Overall I was very happy with my experience with Eye Care Riviera and highly recommend it! Cheers!

I had filled out the paperwork online so I just had to check in to the front desk and wait. Amanda greeted me and did a short vision test. Then Dr Darin Chun proceeded to do a thorough test on my eyes. He talked about the tests and was easy to talk to. From his observations, he recommended that I see a Retina Dr. He gave me the business card of a Dr that he recommended. I went to the front desk to pay the bill for the visit. They don't take United Healthcare for my insurance so I had to pay the entire amount out of pocket. It took about 1 hr for the visit since this was my first visit. In my car I was able to call the retina Doctor and make an appointment to see him on the next day. Overall my experience to my new Optometrist went well. The staff and Dr Chun were friendly & professional. They made me feel comfortable & not stressed out. If you need an Optometrist, I recommend that you see them. I traveled over 50 miles to get here but it was worth it.
