Our pediatrician's office very enthusiastically recommended PVFV, and it turned out to be a great referral! This was one of the most thorough and easiest appointments we have ever had. They ran all sorts of tests until they were very certain what our little one needed, but the whole process ended up being pretty easy and low stress because every person there, from the doctors to the staff, was just beyond kind and engaging. Our little one was excited about glasses and literally cheering about getting them by the end of the appointment. We also love that this is a local family practice, which makes for a much more personal and connected experience. You can tell they are really invested in the wellbeing of their patients, and we saw a handful of regular patients who obviously felt very comfortable and happy there.

I've been using this office for years. I believe this was my 6th annual exam and I always get…read moremulti-focal contacts, I've never used them for glasses. This year there was a new doctor who did my exam. I honestly didn't feel it was as thorough as it has been in the past. At my previous exams the doctor always counseled me about wearing my contacts less and not to exceed the "daily" wear. I can remember being shown models with blood vessels encroaching on my Iris and was told that they wanted to see those decrease. This year when I asked the new doctor about it, she said there were no problems. Since my wear pattern has remained fairly consistent, I doubt they disappeared, but let it go. At the end of my appointment, after my eyes were dilated, the doctor had me put the new lenses on to check fit and gave them her blessing. I couldn't see very well, but we both chalked that up to the dilation. Unfortunately when I woke up the next morning I still couldn't see. I left a message at the office (which was never returned) and went on with my day thinking my eyes were taking a long time to undilate. I fell TWICE walking bad enough to go to my regular doctor the next day. I also left another message for the eye doctor, which again was not returned. I Ubered to my regular doctor because I couldn't see to drive and she ordered wrist and knee x-rays due to the falls and referred me to an ophtamologist. The next day I thought to put in lenses from my previous prescription and voila, I could see again. This time I emailed the office copies of the packages from my old and new lenses and copies of old prescriptions. The only difference I could see was that the old package had additional numbers on it that the new didn't. The office finally called me back and I said I thought I received the wrong lenses. They argued with me that I had been given the correct lenses for distance. I don't know the lingo, I pay them for a service and every year for FIVE YEARS the only lenses I ever received or ordered were multi-focal, so NO, you DID NOT give me the right lenses. They had a different doctor call me back and I explained the whole thing to her. She understood what I was talking about and told me to cone in for new lenses anytime and that they would just change them out. I went a couple of hours later and again the girl, I think she was the optician, argued with me that I had been given the right lenses and she made me sit and wait until the doctor was done with her patient. Luckily the doctor I saw that Friday (my original appointment was Tuesday) was incredibly professional and kind. She was the first person in the entire practice to admit the mistake, apologize and work to defuse the situation. She provided the correct lenses and checked my vision against the eye charts while I was wearing them. Needless to say that I won't be returning nor even trusting them to order my contacts. There are a lot of choices out there and once trust is gone in a doctor, they have to work really hard to regain it. These folks seem to be set on proving they were right rather than caring about my health and providing me the right vision product. I DO NOT recommend. i am new to vsp and called to make an appointment for an exam for contact lens. the front desk…read morestaff were all really nice, over the phone and in person. they called prior to my appointment to give a friendly reminder. dr au and his staff were all very professional. my exam look about 30m dr au was pretty personable. recommended that i purchase pataday eye drops for my red eyes which are caused by allergies. the only thing is that i was not made aware of was the contact fitting fee, which is $60. when i called to make the appt, the gal provided my co pay amount and the allowance for contacts under my vision insurance. this is why i always opt out of vision insurance bc it costs less for me to pay out of pocket for contacts than to pay for vision insurance twice a month + copay + contact fitting fee + difference of what my insurance covers for contacts, which is about $100 more. so basically i am paying double this year. other than not disclosing the contact fitting fee..the visit was good. parking: plenty of parking.

Other places are more expensive and can take up to 2 weeks before you can pick them up. And their service is phenomenal. Jane, the owner, is super friendly and really knows her stuff. She'll be able to pick out the perfect frame for whatever facial shape you have, and keep an eye out for frames that would work for you. I'm blown away by their quick and exceptional service every visit. Highly recommend this place for your eyeglass emergencies and routine care.

I didn't want to make the drive to my eye doctor in OC so I contacted this office and they were able to squeeze me in the same day. Thank you so much!! The staff was friendly, patient and professional. I have PPO insurance so I was able to go with whomever so that helped. In keeping with the friendly and approachable theme - Doctor Florister was also very friendly, patient and professional. And quite funny. She was a bit alarmed that I had rinsed off the top layer of my eye but reassured me that the eye will heal itself in a day or two if I stopped rinsing. The moral of the story I learned is that if something gets caught in your eyes- just rinse continuously for the first 15 minutes and then stop - whatever is in there would come out by then if not then no amount of continued rinsing would help. Don't be an idiot like me and rinse every two hours ! ‍‍ My eyes are back to normal now with the use of eye ointment and gel drops. No prescription medication needed and not antibiotics because she didn't think it was infected. Overall I was very happy with my experience with Eye Care Riviera and highly recommend it! Cheers!
