First time here and I loved that they had the air conditioning cranked up. Complementary chips and salsa were great. I got the chicken fajitas and I must say that these were probably the best chicken fajitas I've ever had. They had little grilled char pieces and I love that. We had a party of 7. And there were 3 other larger parties near us , but the service was fine. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. My family and I LOVE San Marcos. The atmosphere is incredible as well as the decorations. We have always had incredible service here and never waited more than 15 minutes even on a busy day. The guacamole is incredibly good and very well seasoned. I like that you can actually TASTE the tomatoes, onions, lime, and seasonings in the guac. We like to get the queso trio as well with the spinach, chorizo, and plain option. The tortilla chips have always been fresh and hot when brought to our table and the salsa does not taste like pace or store bought. The choripollo is one of my favorite things to get here. The chicken is always juicy and cooked perfectly when I receive it. My husband always gets the Texas ACP or something like that and his steak and shrimp are cooked WONDERFULLY. We came on a rainy Saturday for dinner. They greet us to the table with warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa where you can see the cilantro and onions. I ordered the carna asada tacos, minus the beans. It comes with pico de gallo on the slide. My buddy had tilapia with rice and grilled veggies (peppers, yellow squash and onions). She told them it was my birthday so they sang happy birthday in Spanish. I wore a Sombrero and got a sweet tortilla dessert with whip cream. Customer service was great and friendly. It was busy but they still check up on us if we need refill on chips and salsa, and drinks. We left full but not overstuffed. Maybe because we ran a 5k that morning. BEST MEXICAN EVER!!! Located off 95 in Smithfield NC. We walked in expecting the norm mexi food, and walked out die hard fans of this place!!! Very very nicely and the most interestingly decorated place I have ever walked into. We loved the colors and ambiance of the place. There is a bar with booth seating and another large dining area with booths and tables. The service - is fantastic! Very attentive and outgoing, friendly service. Making sure you never ran out of anything, always offering something else. Upon opening the menu, we were a little taken aback at how much there was to offer. And it wasnt the normal "number 1 - 14" combos you see at every other Mexican place. It took me about 30 mins to narrow in on something to decide on, and even then it was between at least 3 different meals. While deciding on food stuff, we ordered a margarita, and OMG the best one i think i have had in years!! I wish we didnt have to drive the other 3 hours home from here, i would have ordered a fish bowl margarita and gladly slurped it up by myself!!! Deliciousness. When it came down to finally ordering, i asked the waitress for a suggestion, and I am so glad that I did. She recommended the Seafood fajitas for 2. Comes with grilled veggies, Mahi, shrimp and scallops. Each person gets a plate of rice with beans and fixings for the fajitas. When they brought it all out I couldnt believe the amount of food !!! I have been a pretty loyal customer but the past 6 months, the food has been going downhill. I have wasted so much money over and over and I have hoped it would get better. After tonight, I am not coming back. The to go orders are always wrong, even when they are repeated back to me on the phone. Tonight I was charged for chicken quesadillas and I ordered cheese-received chicken. The chimichangas were not fried-and I requested that. The steak tasted boiled with zero seasoning. I was told that an item only had rice or beans and not both-when the menu says both. Resulting in me ordering an extra side. We threw our food away. Over $40 wasted. I've spent hundreds this year and just blamed it on probably being short staffed and I kept trying it again. I'm so disappointed and just over it. read more

Pro: This restaurant was a typically styled Mexican decor with lots of space if you have a large part. It's very clean and has a large array of menu options. Vegetarian friendly. Cons: Service was extremely poor. Our waitress disappeared for 15minutes at a time. Placed my order incorrectly and complained how busy it was and the restraint was half empty. She never let it's know we wetter bring transferred and the staff that took over had a worse attitude. Management did nothing to diffuse the situation and we waited over 30minutes to get a check. If you're stopping in Smithfield, make sure you stop by San Marcos. I was visiting in town for a couple of days for a wedding and I was craving Mexican food during lunch. The location is easy to find and this place offers so much food and drinks. I ordered a quick lunch special but everything was on point. The service was fast and the food was hot and delicious. I was amassed by the size of this restaurant because from the outside it didn't look that big. I forgot to take a quick picture of it because I was really hungry but I got the burrito crema. They were very generous in the amount of meat and cream that they served with it! Let's just say I had enough on my plate to where I could use my chips to eat the cream and left over fillings from the burrito! It can get packed in this location but definitely a restaurant you have to stop at! read more
