I've only been here a couple of times when I go shopping at the outlet mall, which isn't often. Unless you get to the mall starving I recommend coming here after shopping because the atmosphere makes it a great place to unwind and regroup especially if the malls been a mob scene. I love the cheery decor and the vibe here which is very laid back. The food is always very, very good and the service is great! On a recent visit I had the Lunch #8, which is one chicken enchilada and one chicken burrito topped with dark mole sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream that was served with Mexican rice. It was super filling and delicious! My spouse had the lunch portion of steak fajitas which she kept going on and on about. She loved it! Our waiter was a dream! Holy Guacamole this place was a surprise! On the outside it's nothing you'd be impressed with. Interior design is also kind of busy and a bit stale. The food? The service? It was stellar! I ordered the shrimp diavala as I like to try every restaurant's version. The best I ever had was in a little place across the border in Arizona. THIS place was BETTER and I can't believe it's in Smithfield. I live in Holly Springs so I am eager to try the Raleigh restaurant -fingers crossed it is just as tasty. My brother got a burrito and it was so big he could only finish half. I loved the homemade corn tortillas. The housemade sangria was just okay. I loved that the refried beans had whole beans mixed in. The rice is just rice but when you mix it into the sauce it was fantastic. This place was delicious and the service was top notch. We were staying across the street at a hotel for the night and walked over for dinner. They gave a 10% discount when we showed our hotel key. The house margaritas were so good, and you could taste the tequila. I hate going places where all you taste is the mix. The dehydrated fruit was a fun garnish! I got the tacos de carne asada - very good. My son got tostadas with just beans and cheese. I'm not sure that mine at home will ever be good enough for him again. The food was a solid 6-10, I really enjoyed the service and how kind and patient they were with the many kids at my table. The Horchata wasn't the best but the rest of the food was yet pleasant. Second time here and definitely the last. Both times food was not hot. Service was mediocre. I cannot believe the menus that they are using- you can't even read them! The only reason they got a second star was for the mole. Great tasting but not everyone likes mole and the rest of the entrees were just meh. Unless we are fully vaccinated just precautions. He didn't said nothing to me, just turned around and said to the waitress " Looks at this people ! If they don't want to be contaminated they should not be here " We follow the waitress and he was there close to the table, I told him, " Sr. You don't have to talk like that I just asked a question. We want to live a normal life, we just want be cautious .. I ask to the waitress for the name , she said is the manager Carlos Toto. Food is fairly inexpensive and food is middle of the road. Depending on waiter you will not always get what you ordered and/or wait a long time. The frozen margaritas are so much ice it's hard to drink them . If you order the liquid pitcher of marguerita there too much ice cube, little drink with very little tequila taste. Some nights are better than others but based on our last trip we decided to go to Outback instead. A shame because we go there several times a year and used to look forward to dinner there. read more

This Mexican spot is the best in Johnston county. I've been here several times over the years and I have tried many dishes. They are pretty consistent. Recently, I had the shrimp street tacos in/with the corn tortillas. They were good. They come plain and so if you like something specific on them ask for it. (I wish I asked for extra cilantro). The shrimp wasn't too salty and the corn tortillas I was told were homemade. The refried beans were great! They're flavorful, thick, and chunky. Lastly, there salsa isn't chunky, but isn't watery either - it did have onion chunks though. read more

Our server was awesome, had great recommendations and I tried a top shelf classic margarita and the molcajete, which is basically everything tossed into a steaming hot tomatillo based salsa verde sauce. WOW! We picked up takeout here on our way to SC. They were super busy, and based on our experience, with good reason. We ordered chicken fajitas for the hubby and extra grilled veggies for me, queso, salsa, chips and guacamole. The girl who gave us the food was very friendly. But the shining star was the FOOD! Really neat, clean environment with an authentic feel. Conveniently located next to other plazas and not far from Smithfield shopping outlet, so really cool place to stop by if you're in the area and want some authentic Mexican food.
