Stopped in for a work lunch with a colleague. We were seated right away but the restaurant is kinda tight and the booths are a little small. The food was really good and the plate was a little large for a lunch portion. The service was ok, our waiter went missing a couple of times and I had to flag him down to get a refill and the check. Tried La Terraza for the first time tonight. Service was courteous and knowledgeable, with fair wait times. The building could use an ipdate or two, but the authentic Mexican vibes went right along with their roasted tomato salsa! Their cheese dip has more flavor and depth than other resturants in the area. However, their staple rice is lacking. Over cooked and under seasoned, had us bumming big time. The shrimp was crispy and spicy on my dish. My husband mentioned this carnitas tacos were overcooked but exceptionally flavorful in all of the right ways a 6 or 7 out of 10 for his plate. Over all, not a bad experience. A safe go to but will be trying others in the future to find the best in the area! read more

LOVE this place. It is our go to mexi restaurant. My husband and I were at a loss of where to have date night (with our toddler) because we didn't want to cause a scene because..you know..temper tantrums. I am happy to say my son is almost 2 years old and have hardly missed a Friday night "date"! My son loves to eat the chips and salsa, and has grown accustomed to some of the friendly and familiar faces, and will even wave to them! The chips are always hot and ready, and replaced as soon as they are gone. The salsa is mild enough that it doesn't bother my son, but it still has a little kick to it. The cheese dip comes in a large dish, and is the best that I've had. We get the Tacos de Carna Asada and it never disappoints. Jumbo margarita always tastes amazing and we never leave any behind! The atmosphere is nice and laid back, and the workers seem to like their jobs. Service is almost always speedy, and only a little slower when they're packed full of people. The amazing food makes up for any extended amount of time that we may make. I also would like to mention that I lost my grandmothers real, expensive, vintage fur scarf there and couldn't remember where I had left it. When we came to eat a couple of weeks later, the lady behind the cash register recognized us and excitedly pulled up the scarf from behind the desk!! I cried tears of joy, because it had so much sentimental value. I was amazed that they had held on to it for so long, and that they were honest enough to return it! This restaurant came highly recommended by a few locals. Our party of four enjoyed absolutely marvelous service!!! Started our meal with pretty good chips and salsa, but it got so much better! We were introduced to the menu after telling our waitress this was our first visit. She did not steer us wrong. Go NC State for the 19 year old who wanted steak and shrimp! He loved it. The Hawaiian ACP was recommended. A nice mix of veggies, shrimp, chicken, and rice all smothered with cheese. A very generous portion. The taco salad was just okay with a sad winter under ripened tomato. Again great quick friendly service. Excellent food. We will recommend La Terrazzo to others now that we are locals. read more

This was my first visit with my family. We were weekdays in and seated right away. It's nicely laid out and decorated. Our waitress was spot on with taking our order and had a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone was very happy with their food selection, and no to-go boxes were needed... everyone devoured their food. On September 6,2024 at approximately 6:30pm my boyfriend had the misfortune of going into this establishment and dealing with a vile and very distasteful lack of a human being named Francilla, that later states she was the manager and owner. I unfortunately am unsure if that is truly the person I spoke to because I was later informed the owners name was Teresa. I heard what happened from my boyfriend over the phone about his horrifying experience, I had to call the restaurant and ask for the manager, which I was notified was person that answered. I told her I needed her name she replied "why" I stated "because I asked for it."She reluctantly told me that name again and when I asked for the spelling of her name she hung up on me. At this unprofessional, shell of an establishment he was belittled by this piss poor example of a hostess he was met with annoyance when he was asking general questions about if he could modify the food by adding meat and PAYING EXTRA or how much it would be to PAY for an extra side. It was then that and was then informed they don't modify their food and that he could "Get Out." Needless to say we will NEVER be patronizing this lack of a structure EVER again. read more

Our server was not familiar with the menu at all. She even told us they could not make a cranberry and vodka when it was clearly on the menu. They were out of all desserts that they had listed by the door when you come in and the server even stated oh yeah, we don't have any desserts. Someone else mentioned it too. then I ordered a chicken quesadilla appetizer the chicken flavorless, and the quesadilla was soggy and soaked with the juice from the meat. The quesadilla was sitting in juice when it came to the table needless to say for one quesadilla appetizer with mushrooms it was $16. I explained to her after she came back when we were almost done eating how subpar the food was. Her only response was I'm sorry.. needless to say we will not be back. The Mexican decor is decent and was undated in the last couple of years. But the problem as has been pointed out is space -- it's on the smaller side so booths aren't large. However, the food portions are large especially for the lunch menu. They have good beer choices in multiple sizes plus many hard liquors as well. The wait staff has always been very helpful and attentive. Plus affordable prices, La Terraza is worth repeat visits. read more

The lady at the cash register is the rudest person I have ever dealt with in "Customer service" - the guy taking the order obviously had issues speaking english, instead of getting help or finding an answer to a question - he just said "Ok" and then when the bill was incorrect, and it was completely his fault, because he said "Ok" the RUDE AND NASTY acting cash register lady stormed over and said - This is not correct! You will pay this! And, expected me to pay $23 for lunch. SMH. She also proceeded to talk loudly, cause a scene and speak to me like I was her child. Ridiculous behaviour for a so called Manager! This place was okay for the area. The staff was incredibly nice. They had to move us to a new table to accommodate a larger group and apologized to us 4 times for the inconvenience even though it wasn't really a problem for my husband and I. The food came out extremely fast and was incredibly hot. I was surprised however that the shrimp was cooked perfectly. It was really plump and juicy. The steak and chicken were over cooked though, the steak being the worst of them. The queso was a really good white queso. It didn't have anything extra in it like jalapeños, just basic. The rice was also a very simple Mexican rice. Reminded me of the kind you could get at the store in a box. Food is not bad but don't go here thinking you'll get something amazing. You can make this food at home but it's about the convenience of not having to cook for me. There's also limited parking so keep that in mind if you're trying to eat here. Decided to go here last night (been a while because before Mezcalita opened, it was usually too busy to get in). The food was great, but the five stars comes from the service. Unlike certain establishments and the public support from being called out for staff not taking basic covid precautions (cough cough Parker's), La Terrazza staff was masked up, and the place was clean. I want to support places that are responsible without being forced to by daddy govt. The other cesspools can keep their dirty bbq crowd. This is my favorite restaurant in Goldsboro. It's a little on the loud side, but we were able to have a conversation. I loved the music. It's fun. We were seated and given chips and salsa right away even though it was almost full. They had $10 pitchers of beer that were a lot cheaper than buying them individually. ($4) my son and daughter in law's burritos looked amazing. BUT the guacamole made fresh table side was fantastic! The girl making it was sweet and had a great sense of humor. She was great without being annoying. The manager or owner was working pouring beers and bringing out food. There is a bar area, but it's a little crowded because there is a table behind it that the servers were rolling silverware. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's the best Mexican food in town. I was soo happy when I first learned about La Terraza because I LOVE all Latin food. I also was so excited to support a small business. I placed a phone order for their nachos and said, "I don't want any beef. Can I get extra chicken?" The lady on the other end seemed to understand what I said, so ten minutes later when I came to pick up my order I was confused when she said "Nachos, EXTRA beef." When I corrected her by saying, "I actually had said "no beef, extra chicken" she immediately became rude and let me know that my plate was over there (pointed to it) and she would not be changing anything. She wouldn't give me any eye contact and continued to state her case in how I was wrong about how I ordered and then stormed to the back with my food to fix it. When she came back she just handed me the bag again no eye contact-stone cold. I politely let her know that it is okay and misunderstandings happen sometimes, but that it isn't necessary to be rude to customers who you have NO idea what they are dealing with just as I was considerate to her for making the mistake. Kindness doesn't cost you anything and the same kindness I showed her was what I expected in return. Unfortunately, I won't be able to support or recommend this business anymore. read more

This restaurant stole my money. Service and administration at this Restaurant is terrible. Ordered a take out order today and once I arrived home, found out that half of my food was missing. Called them and explained the situation and they only offered for me to drive back and pick up the missing food. I live out of the city about 25mins away due to lunchtime traffic. That was not an option for me as I was alone taking care of my newborn. Explained all of this to them. They refused to even give a half refund since only half the food was missing. I give La Terraza 4 stars....but my wife would easily give them 10. They do serve up some pretty good mexican cuisine. But the thing I love most is their habanero hot sauce. It is homemade, and it is HOTT! My opinion is that if your mouth isn't on fire when you leave a mexican restaurant, then you haven't had a decent meal. My husband and I ate lunch here today and are pretty disappointed. This is the second time dining here and both have been below average. Chips and salad are average. We ordered the el sampler appetizer, the quesadilla included was made with processed (and what tasted like American?) cheese. I ordered the burrito lunch special, a chicken and bean burrito. It was inedible. It was a watery, soggy, tasteless mess. I am not picky, especially with Mexican food. I could not eat it, which is a first for me in a Mexican restaurant. This was a wonderful surprise about 20 mins from Mt Olive. First, Hot chips were delicious as well as salsa. I ordered the fajitas taco salad with chicken. Honestly, the best I have ever had. The flavor was amazing salted onions, peppers, special sauce, chicken, cheese, guacamole and salsa.my husband got a chicken quesadilla he said again so flavorful.
