My partner and I are regular customers at your San Leandro location and really appreciate having a…read morelocal wine shop in the neighborhood. We love supporting your business and want to share some feedback that we hope will be helpful. We've had a few visits recently, typically when we stop by on Sunday afternoons around 1pm, where we didn't receive the level of service we've come to expect from a specialty wine shop. When we've asked for recommendations or information about specific wines, we've been told "I don't know" without any offer to help us find answers. When looking for particular varietals, we've been pointed toward general areas of the store rather than being shown specific options. Even when asking about the wine tasting day was responded with a lackluster disinterested response. As wine enthusiasts who genuinely want to learn and make purchases, we find ourselves leaving without buying as much as we'd intended, or sometimes leaving altogether to shop elsewhere. We know this isn't the experience you want for your customers, and we really want to continue supporting you. We thought you'd want to know so you can make sure all customers receive the knowledgeable, engaged service that makes shopping at an independent wine shop special. We're rooting for your success and hope this feedback is useful. Thank you for being part of our community!

I love knowing that it's family-owed/ran and it's mostly Tony or his daughter at the shop. They are always so friendly and with such great taste in local breweries! It's nice to find a place where the staff remember and recognize their regular/recurring customers and are quick to point out when they've gotten something new in stock that they think you're going to like. I also love that Tom is committed to providing high quality bourbons without playing any of the crazy games every other smaller family owned shop in Northern California seems to have fallen in to. Literally every other store I walk in to has decided to buy up all the highly allocated and hyped stuff and quadruple (or more) the MSRP in order to maximize profit without any concern for people who actually enjoy quality whiskey. Bourbon isn't supposed to be crazy expensive!! Tom makes sure they have an excellent selection of quality bourbon that doesn't require you to pay crazy inflated prices. Thank you guys for your commitment to taking care of your customers!
