    8 ounces bottle Coca-Cola

The name states "wine and liquors" and it is and so much more. A combination of your neighborhood "Cheers" where you are Norm and they no your name and a newcomer like me can come in and request that they order pineapple BuzzBalls and they write it down and tell me it will be there in a week. Also a cross between a 7-Eleven, Target and a hardware store in that you can find a little of everything including tools and scissors and paper. Friendly staff and they know what they have in stock. Plus 8 ounce bottles of Coke!

Date: 3/27/2016. Time: 12:50 PM. 60°. Sunny & clear It's Easter Sunday and we decided to stop in at Alameda Cellars to try our luck on the 777 scratch off tickets. Ssshhh...no telling on me or my husband to Santos Liquors that we are buying our scratch offs from this business, Albertino...lol I have never been here to buy anything, but I like their set up with all the wines on one side of the building; and snacks, groceries, sundries and a limited selection of household items on the other side. The assortment of cold beverages are stored in the refrigerators in the back of the store. Everything is so well organized and so easily accessible. The gentleman behind the counter was helpful and friendly while assisting my husband. He was also personable with other customers. This gave me a chance to browse around in the wine section and admire the assortment of wines and spirits that they had on display. Buy: a bottle of Barefoot Bubbly (Tropical Infusion) for $6.99, which I believe was reasonably priced. There is no telling when I'm going to enjoy the bubbly. Tee hee. I would not mind returning to Alameda Cellars to purchase a few bottles of wine for gift giving. It is a small business with a whole lotta punch - oops, burp -I mean wines, spirits, beers, ales, etc.

The Rake…read moreprovides malt for lots and lots of breweries in Cali and they therefore have most of them on tap. So it's fun to try some beers we haven't been to (or at least in a while). Something for every beer taste, and food is scrumptious and shareable. Almanac is next door but it's turning into a zoo, you'll see what I mean. Regardless, go one building further to The Rake and you'll be happy along with your tastebuds. We biked, casually, around the Oakland Estuary over the Park Street bridge. Once in Alameda you can ride safely on a dedicated bike lane/path all the way to the brewery. Then a shortcut back is the free water shuttle. Fun afternoon.

I got to have a private tour with owner Ron Silberstein, who showed me the facility, explained the process, and introduced me to the team. They specialize in California grown grains, malted on a small scale for CA breweries. During my visit it was a variety of wheat being malted to order. It's a beautiful facility. The Rake specifically is their bar, which is an absolute must-visit for any beer fan in the Bay Area. Essentially, their tap list is from many regional breweries that all use their malt. It really shows off the variety of flavors when you can learn about the ingredients and know they were made right in the building. They also have a selection of to-go beers from breweries too. Bartender Grayson was super friendly and helpful; I had a couple flights during my visit too. They have cozy indoor seating, all with windows overlooking the malting floor, plus a beautiful outdoor deck with high top tables beyond. This is way more than just a beer bar, it's a fun experience.
