    Case of Pliny the Elder
    Raymond J.

I was able to buy a case of Pliny the Elder to bring back with me to Vegas. No need to go into a lengthy review... that alone deserves five stars.

Loved this beer when I had it in San Diego. I was surprised to find it here. And this was the plus one I got...

Plaza Bottle Shop is definitely a go to. You go there for great bottles of beer, liquor and wine when you can't find them anywhere else. They have an awesome selection and awesome prices. I can find Pliny the Elder there as well, if I come on the right day and right time. Jack, Chris and Jesse are super helpful and saved me on Black Friday this year when I had to work. The beer selection is usually what I go in for. They have great ones in the case, as well as ones on the shelf. I almost didn't write this review because I didn't want to chance YOU buying what I'm looking for! Lol! Cheers!

Finally found a place that's a couple miles from home that not only has a ridiculous selection of ale, but they appear to maintain a steady stream of one of my favorite ales of all time: Pliny The Elder from Russian River Brewing. Fans of this ale know that it's not typically easy to find. The selection in general is pretty impressive, though I wish they had a larger selection of magnums to choose from. Lots of four and six packs, but not a ton of single bottles. Overall a nice store and I'll definitely be back.

Just a few beers I picked up (except for the Sofie - got that from somewhere else).

Seriously, wow. This place cannot get any better. First off - AMAZING selection of microbrews. I've been going to Bevmo this whole time to stock up on my craft beers, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to say goodbye to them, and hello to Plaza Bottle. The owner (assuming he is) Jack is seriously the coolest guy. Extremely helpful, very polite & funny, and probably the most knowledgeable person I've ever met when it comes to different types of beer. He recommended me a few good ones and gave me a little background history on each, but not to the point where I was getting annoyed; he still gave me my time to shop/look around. He also informed me about a few upcoming local beer festivals and such, which was really nice of him. Their prices are just a tad bit more than Bevmo but it's well worth it; i'm saving money on gas by coming here instead of driving out to Pleasanton, right? I highly recommend this place. It's an awesome local store. The staff is very friendly, truthful, and they carry an excellent selection. I love small, local businesses like this, and I'm proud to support them. Keep up the good work, guys.

The best Tequila hands down...for those that don't know step ya Tequila game up ya digggg

The selection is incredible--thoughtfully curated bottles from familiar favorites to unique gems you don't usually see elsewhere. The staff is super knowledgeable without being pretentious. We love supporting your business and want to share some feedback that we hope will be helpful. We've had a few visits recently, typically when we stop by on Sunday afternoons around 1pm, where we didn't receive the level of service we've come to expect from a specialty wine shop. When we've asked for recommendations or information about specific wines, we've been told "I don't know" without any offer to help us find answers. When looking for particular varietals, we've been pointed toward general areas of the store rather than being shown specific options. Even when asking about the wine tasting day was responded with a lackluster disinterested response. As wine enthusiasts who genuinely want to learn and make purchases, we find ourselves leaving without buying as much as we'd intended, or sometimes leaving altogether to shop elsewhere. We know this isn't the experience you want for your customers, and we really want to continue supporting you. We thought you'd want to know so you can make sure all customers receive the knowledgeable, engaged service that makes shopping at an independent wine shop special. We're rooting for your success and hope this feedback is useful. Thank you for being part of our community!

I remembered a place on Jackson Street that I had gone to 5 years ago that had a tremendous selection - looked it up on Yelp and it was no longer on Jackson, but was listed in Castro Valley. So we went thought we'd go by and give it a try. Great decision! The "new" store in Castro Valley is much brighter, cleaner, nicer than the old location. I think the old location had more stuff from Eastern Europe, but this new location seems to have a broader selection, with more stuff from Western Europe and the Middle East. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and helpful - always willing to answer questions and even give tips on how to use the products that they sell. And his recommendations have been great - we asked him about which tahini and zaatar to get (they have many different brands/types of each...) and the ones he recommended have been way tastier than any of the brands that you find in most markets. Especially good was his recommendation on lebnah - he said that the brands they carry are all good, but they have some that they package in-house that was special. I tried it - it was less expensive than the other brands, but was the very best lebnah that I have ever tasted! Richer, creamier, with just the right amount of tang. Wonderful stuff! Anyway, Crossroads is a nice, clean, well-lit place with a great selection of unique products, and friendly, knowledgeable sales staff. Well worth a trip!
