My experience with the owner Dan and his team was outstanding. In one visit, Dan and his team installed one chanderlier, two ceiling lights, one bathroom fan, and figured out and fixed one annoying wiring issued for us -- the previous owner wired the kitchen countertop outlet with the master bathroom light switch, so to turn on your blender at the kitchen, one had to turn on the master bathroom light (LOL). Dan answers his phone (very important), was accomendating on appointment date and time, was curteous, efficent and did not avoid the hard work. To change the bothroom fan, one needed to get into the attic -- which was very tight and one could only crawl in there. Dan completed the job without complaint. (In comparison, the previous guy we hired to change the ceiling fan refused to crawl in there and wiped some dust off the fan and charged us for an hour of service) I would not hesitate to recommend Dan and San Diego Wire Nut to others for electrical jobs. read more

Our neighbors bathroom leaked above us resulting in more than half of the walls, ceilings, and floors needing to be demoed and redone. Took it as an opportunity to upgrade the bathroom too. San Diego Wire Nut was assigned to us through Integrity Restoration and did an EXCEPTIONAL job. Dan is a phenomenal electrician and has a VERY high attention to detail. Literally could not be more pleased with his professionalism, care, and expertise. Here are some highlights: Dan was precise, methodical, and hell bent on ensuring all our electricals--including the new medicine cabinet mirror which needed to be hardwired into the wall--were perfectly centered and equidistance from each other. He also gave us fantastic advise on the amount and type of lighting we'd need as well as moving the fan to light the room better. The end result is the perfect amount of light and a balanced aesthetic. Working with contractors can be such a roll of the dice but Dan and his team are the best of the best and we couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you so much Dan!!! read more

Excellent service! Great man! Recommend him highly for all jobs large and small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. Dan comes highly recommended. He blew me off 3 times. I have to move on. Sucks. If you're too busy, tell me. I get it. You're too busy. Dan wouldn't commit at all. Just made "maybe promises" and never showed. My life doesn't revolve San Diego Wire Nut and Dan Varner. I needed an electrician. There's other licensed electricians. I don't recommend San Diego Wire Nut. read more

Dan is an outstanding electrician and can do anything that you need related to the electrical trade. When he is requested for a task (or several), he shows up when he says he will. This is not something that you find in a lot of other contractors. His work is great and his prices are fair. read more

great service. the price is on the high side but i'll have him again if i need other works done.

Dan and his crew provided excellent service when they completely rewired our newly added garage. They are good, honest people and very professional. We plan to have them return for additional wiring in our home. read more

We needed new lights installed in a bathroom in our downtown condo. They did poor work expensively. The electrician we had in to redo the work said that Wire Nut had just stuffed the wires back into the wall behind the lights, in violation of code. The new people are going to put the required fireproof boxes into the walls behind the lights, and keep the wire ends inside the boxes. Another problem was the referrals they gave us. After roughing out the work, Dan Varner, the head of the company referred us to a drywall/painter friend of his. The buddy showed up hours late, when he bothered to come at all, with no notice. His work was lousy as well. When Mr Varner returned to finish the electrical work, he agreed on the quality of the work, apologized for the referral, and referred another buddy of his alleged to do great work, This buddy seemed unprofessional when he came to do the estimate; when we didn't call back, he made a rather nasty call to us. We brought in another company to redo the prep and painting; their electrician took down the lights and said that the installation was poorly done. Here's a photo of a lump of plaster left on the wall by the painter. San Diego Wire Nut installed a lamp right on top of the lump, pushing the lamp askew: https://goo.gl/photos/dfGwc81T2Q8BjTxA6 If you do use San Diego Wire Nut and Dan refers anyone to you for other work, go elsewhere. read more

I have known Dan for years. I initially began using Dan as my go to guy when I was the Realtor of a person that bought a luxury estate home on Point Loma. Their were too many electrical issues to even list but Dan and his team were consummate professionals. They took the time to Dx each issue, large and small and worked day and night to resolve all of the problems one by one till the home was in perfect condition on schedule and within the budget. Needless to say that SD Wire Nut is my go to source for any home and any electrical installation or repair. read more

I had San Diego Wire Nut come to my house to run 6 new circuits for a kitchen remodel I am currently in the middle of. These guys were top notch not only on their service, but the quality of work. They took their time, and made sure everything was done to the highest quality. Before leaving they checked all their work including existing work to ensure proper function. I would recommend this team for any residential electrical work from roughing to trouble shooting. read more

I highly recommend Dan and his guys for light installation. They installed a chandelier in a very high entryway, three other indoor light fixtures, three LED dimmer switches, and two outdoor sconces in record time and for an extremely reasonable price (on a Saturday!). Dan clearly loves and takes pride in his work. read more

SD Wire Nut has TOP NOTCH customer service. Dan is very responsive, fair, honest, funny, easy to get along with, has an infectious personality and high energy. He was in constant contact from the day I hired him through ordering parts and scheduling. It was just days from the time he ordered parts to the install date. I didnt have to wait weeks like I would with another company. The final bill was a bit lower than his quote. His crew is courteous, fast, accurate, on time, and respectful. We will be using SD Wire Nut for 100% of our electrical needs. read more

Dan and his team worked for 2 days to install a variety of fixtures in our new house, including a chandelier in our 19 ft entryway that took some collective ingenuity to even get into the house. They installed several fans, pendants, and sconces and even helped to replace our can lights with LED in the high up vaulted ceilings. Additionally, they installed outdoor chandeliers on our back patio which required new wiring on the pergola. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the quality of the work throughout the house. Dan's enthusiasm for his work is infectious and he is obviously a very experienced and competent electrician. And he has great help in Mitch, too! Overall highly recommended. read more

San Duego Wire and Nut are a superlative company. Yesterday they spent several hours troubleshooting my air conditioning issues and found it was actually caused by burned 100watt main bus breaker. They replaced the breaker which restored power to the air conditioner. Saved me a lot of $ because i thought the air conditioner would have to be replaced. Additionally they found a bad outlet causing a short for part of a 15 watt circuit. Great job! I Highly recommend this team of experts! read more

Dan and his crew helped install a big chandelier on 21ft ceiling. They did an excellent job, they arrived on time, brought scaffolding, put in extra beam to hold the chandelier, and finish the job in 3.5hrs. Price is very reasonable, much much better than some of the parties we called. Like their service. read more
