We started going to Thaddeus more than 20 years ago and have always been pleased with the tattoos. It's turned into a family affair now that my daughter turned 18. The shop is welcoming and nicely laid out.
Can't say enough good things about San Clemente tattoo and Thaddeus! His room is full of super cool art and figurines and he's an insane artist! Thank you!!!
100% recommend...this is my third time back as support...but I got to say watching these pro's work and to see it go from concept to skin to final product it is the real deal and worth every penny! The vibe is always chill and makes you feel super comfortable. Brian is hands down the most talented tattoo artist I've ever met.
Sick tattoo shop. Destiny is the best and knocked out two clean tattoos for me so far and I'm more than happy with both of them! The vibe is chill but the ONLY sucky thing is parking. They have a small back lot but it's usually full so good luck with street parking. That's just the way downtown SC is though so we work with it. Fair pricing and good work what else could you ask for? 10/10 recommend
San Clemente Tattoo is your tattoo home! Whatever you're looking for, you'll find your artists here! Walk-ins welcome as well! From professionalism, cleanliness, a highly positive atmosphere in which you truly feel the team has a natural flow with eachother! It makes such huge difference! The owner is so very nice! You'll be able to come in and throw your idea(s) out in a bucket and one of the artists will have the skill and experience to the utmost for your piece! Thaddeus is the artist ive worked with and he's amazing! Pictures below! Def worth a visit! Cruise by to check out everyone's work! Thank you San Clemente TATTOO! MUCH LOVE!
Great atmosphere, cool shop. I got a tattoo as a walk in and it was super quick. Everyone was nice. My artist was James and he did a great job. Cool spot for sure. Will come again and recommend to friends :)
i love this place to death. everyone is always so nice to my family and i when we walk in the door! i have gone to 2 artists in this shop and i started going at 18. my first piece was done by john and it's absolutely stunning still 2 years later. he did an amazing job and was very nice to me and took as many breaks as i needed without making me feel bad. i've also gone to chas for a couple of pieces as well. chas has done the coolest color work i've ever seen, on me! he's even come up with designs he thought would fit me as a person even if i wasn't thinking about getting a tattoo. chas recently just did a cover up on my arm and it's so sick i can't stop showing people. i love the people in this shop so much 1000000/10! everyone is so creative it's nuts.
I got my first tattoo a couple of months ago and I definitely picked the right place to go. Brian is the best! He works quick but his work is excellent. I'm looking forward to my next tattoo with him
Parking can be a pain but my tattooist was great. Went here with two friends, that had previous tattoos from Chas. We each had sent him pics of what we wanted so he could draw it up before we arrived. Chas was friendly, cleaned his work space completely between each of our tats. And charged a reasonable price. I'm already planning my next ink for 2022.
This review is for Chas Byassee. I've been getting tattooed by Chas for over a decade now and I don't envision myself ever getting tattooed by anyone else. Chas is so creative with his ideas and his line work is SO CLEAN! So far Chas has done an entire back piece on me, a leg piece, arm sleeve and a few random tattoos in between. He is truly a pleasure to be around and I always look forward to spending the day with him each time we work on one of my projects. If you're looking for someone artistic, creative and someone that truly gives 100% into every piece of art they create, Chas is your guy!
My husband has been going to San Clemente Tattoo for the past 2.5 years, phenomenal work done by Brian. 10/10 would recommend.
Very happy with the process here. Called in afternoon, told an artist available. Walked in 15 minutes later and John greeted me to talk wants, needs and process. He seriously considers your opinion but at same time offers constructive guidance. End result with my son's name on my arm exactly as wanted. Nice friendly banter with John throughout. Enjoyed sharing fatherhood stories. Will come back for another in the future.
Thaddeus was recommended by a friend for my first tattoo. I was nervous but excited. Thaddeus helped calm my nerves and was very patient while answering all my questions. I was impressed with the cleanliness and his meticulous attention to detail. He made sure the placement was perfect before starting. I'm so happy with my tattoo! He will forever be my go-to for more tattoos!

I have never had a bad experience here -- not once in the two plus years I've been going here. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and respectful. I see Brian specifically and I can't recommend him enough. I wish I would've been able to meet him sooner. He's covered up a few tattoos seamlessly and I've had a several more larger pieces done by him. They're absolutely beautiful, and something I am truly proud to wear for the rest of my life. I brought a friend to Brian to get her first tattoo and he walked her through everything with patience and respect, making her feel comfortable the whole time. A lot of times when I am out and about, people ask me where I got my tattoos done at and compliment the work he has done. Brian's level of talent is exceptful and reflects through his work. Each piece clearly shows the amount of hardwork, thought, and diligence put behind it. If you're looking for a tattoo shop that is welcoming, passionate about their work, and respectful, look no further and come on in. Below are a few pictures of the tattoos Brian has done for me. read more

After getting shoddy work TWICE at White Lotus in Laguna Hills I tried Sid's in Tustin. I was quoted $300 and after 2.5 hours was told $385. Uh....ok?? An acquaintance at San Onofre told me about this shop. Scouted it out and talked with them and pulled the trigger. Forget the artists name, John, I think... but he's a really big guy who does/did great lettering. Very pleased with the work. I would go back in a heart beat, but I don't really have any plans for more work. Strongly recommend. read more

100% awesome. A chill parlor that took me as a walk in for my first tattoo. James did great with the line work, I really appreciated his attention to detail. Nice people, clean, just an awesome addition to our vacation stops. Don't forget your cash! (If you do they have an atm:) read more

I was referred to San Clemente Tattoo by a couple people who were very happy with the work they had done there. I walked in and randomly landed John, who was great. This was my first tattoo, something very emotional for me because it was my cat's paw print who recently passed away and was very dear to me. John was the perfect personality for me, friendly but very laid back and cool. He sat with me and figured out a way to make the paw print look unique and not like a generic print, but still kept the shape of my kitty's mark. His procedure was clean, comfortable, and quick. He has been in the business 20+ years and that really shows in his work. Would highly recommend him and the shop to anybody! Thanks again, John. read more

Big John (John Ondo) is the best! He did matching tattoos for 4 of us best friends. We got simple tattoos but his attention to detail was perfection, making sure the placement was spot on. Highly recommend San Clemente tattoo and Big John read more

I highly recommend Thad or anybody here! They are professional and know what they are doing! Thad took a little over two hours to do this whole thing (except for the bird and quote which was already there). He was very methodical in his placement and took all the time needed to make sure it was perfect. I have gone to him once before but this one was a lot of thinking and drawing behind it. We've already got the rest of my sleeve planned out! I recommend Thad and SC tattoo to anybody who is thinking about getting one or continuing on with what they have! read more

The shop's nice and I know that there are some very good artists there but I'm just here to provide my experience... Without completely putting my artist on blast we'll just say his name starts with a 'J'...So I came in for a cover up -granted it was big but I did have several laser treatments to get it manageable... So 'J' said he's done alot of bio work (yet in further convo's said he hasn't in a looong time.ok) So long story short...I paid about 6K CASH for this 3/4 sleeve... I spent at least 50+ hours there however only got inked for maybe half of that...twice I had appointments that he took a walk in right before and had to wait over an hour. One session was over 5 hours with about an hour and a half of actual ink time as he free handed the whole thing and kept drawing and erasing, drawing and erasing...but I paid for his time drawing and erasing!! (he said "How's about $600" --- ok good deal since I been there 5 hours BUT NOT for an hour and a half of actual tattooing!!) - Dude likes to take ALOT of smoke breaks that's for sure so keep that in mind that you'll be waiting on that and then smelling stall person smoke the entire session - the gloves are for HIS protection-not yours - i've seen him handle drinks from the outside, move stuff around etc and then just work on me - yeah i should have said something--- I should have said a lot actually, but I was at his mercy since the design was in his mind and I couldn't exactly go anywhere else, so I didn't... I messaged Greg the owner (who is quite conceded) before posting this---course he defended his guy (his buddy for 20 years), his shop -blah blah blah and will 'defend this post -blah blah blah...but buyer's beware - you may catch J on a good day - he doesn't have a real portfolio but has a few things to see or you could catch him on days where he's tired, wants to go home and doesn't care... my tattoo has...blown lines, incomplete work, half @sses work and overall a complete lack of attention to detail...but Greg thinks it's quality so that told me enough ... one of the worst decisions I ever made was coming here - Oh well... And of course Greg responds---Guess there's more than one in the crowd as I've read others that didn't like your place either. ---So Greg you asked why I kept coming back? -As I stated it above and in our , ummm like 5 emails---the design was in his head...what am I going to do? go to someone else and say "hey, do something with this?' Now it's on my girlfriend. She went once and didn't say a word about it AND you were not even there. All she did was say something when John tried to short the session in which he said he would complete it all then - good one. This is how you respond to someone that critque's your busy? -very professional - but it is as I expected. read more

This has become my regular shop. Sick little place with flash all over the wall. Good dudes work the place and they all clearly know what's up when it comes to quality tattoos. Brian Taylor has done almost my entire arm and I couldn't be happier with it. His prices are fair his work is on point and he knows what he is doing. Can't see my self going to any other place but here. Traditional, black and grey, Japanese or anything I between these guys can do it. read more

DO NOT go here for a tattoo. I have 5 tattoos and they all healed perfectly fine. I am very anal about cleaning and aftercare for my tattoos so that they heal properly. I was never I.D.ed and never had to sign any type of forms. My tattoo artist had me in and out in no time. It was definitely time over quality. I have done a lot of tease arch and asked my artist if getting a tattoo over a scare would affect it badly. He assured me everything would be fine. WRONG. I now have a friggen hole in my wrist where the scare originally was. I am so upset and disappointed. The money and time that's going to have to go into this to fix it is ridiculous. I'm from the east coast so I can't even go back to see him steer clear of this shit shack! read more

This is now my 5th time being tattooed here and I will only go here. John did my sleeve and his work is top notch. This time I had Chas do my tattoo and he did an amazing job. He was so nice and professional the entire time that it made the pain not in the forefront. I highly recommend this place and no matter where the Marine Corp takes my family I will always fly back here when needing some ink therapy. read more

Do you have an artist that specializes in lettering?
Yes. All of our artists have to do nice Custom Lettering. If you don't know how to do many different styles of Custom Lettering, then your not a very good tattoo artist in my book. Fine line, bold style, calligraphy , block style, black and gray,…
