I see Brian specifically and I can't recommend him enough. I wish I would've been able to meet him sooner. I've been coming here for 3 years. I recommend this shop and any artist in the shop. Brian has been my main squeeze, he has done my entire back, my entire leg, and spent time refreshing some of my older and unfinished tattoos. Between my leg and my back, I have racked up somewhere around 40-50 sessions with Brian over the 2.5-3 years that we've been doing business together. In that time, I had to reschedule with him once, and he gave me a few weeks notice. Life happens, its no big deal. Forget the artists name, John, I think... but he's a really big guy who does/did great lettering. Very pleased with the work. The shop's nice and I know that there are some very good artists there but I'm just here to provide my experience... Without completely putting my artist on blast we'll just say his name starts with a 'J'...So I came in for a cover up -granted it was big but I did have several laser treatments to get it manageable... So 'J' said he's done alot of bio work (yet in further convo's said he hasn't in a looong time.ok) So long story short...I paid about 6K CASH for this 3/4 sleeve... I spent at least 50+ hours there however only got inked for maybe half of that...twice I had appointments that he took a walk in right before and had to wait over an hour. One session was over 5 hours with about an hour and a half of actual ink time as he free handed the whole thing and kept drawing and erasing, drawing and erasing...but I paid for his time drawing and erasing!! (he said "How's about $600" --- ok good deal since I been there 5 hours BUT NOT for an hour and a half of actual tattooing!!) - Dude likes to take ALOT of smoke breaks that's for sure so keep that in mind that you'll be waiting on that and then smelling stall person smoke the entire session - the gloves are for HIS protection-not yours - i've seen him handle drinks from the outside, move stuff around etc and then just work on me - yeah i should have said something--- I should have said a lot actually, but I was at his mercy since the design was in his mind and I couldn't exactly go anywhere else, so I didn't... I messaged Greg the owner (who is quite conceded) before posting this---course he defended his guy (his buddy for 20 years), his shop -blah blah blah and will 'defend this post -blah blah blah...but buyer's beware - you may catch J on a good day - he doesn't have a real portfolio but has a few things to see or you could catch him on days where he's tired, wants to go home and doesn't care... my tattoo has...blown lines, incomplete work, half @sses work and overall a complete lack of attention to detail...but Greg thinks it's quality so that told me enough ... one of the worst decisions I ever made was coming here - Oh well... And of course Greg responds---Guess there's more than one in the crowd as I've read others that didn't like your place either. ---So Greg you asked why I kept coming back? -As I stated it above and in our , ummm like 5 emails---the design was in his head...what am I going to do? go to someone else and say "hey, do something with this?' Now it's on my girlfriend. She went once and didn't say a word about it AND you were not even there. All she did was say something when John tried to short the session in which he said he would complete it all then - good one. This is how you respond to someone that critque's your busy? -very professional - but it is as I expected. read more

I've been getting tattooed by "Big John" since Brother Greg opened the shop over 10 years ago and I'll never go anywhere else! I've got half sleeves on both arms and I can't say enough good things about the work or the experience. It's got the look and vibe of an old time tattoo shop and it's always a great experience. All the guys are cool and even though I always have John do the work Greg, Brian and the other guys are always chopping it up with me and I never want to leave when the work is done. My husband (fiance at the time) wanted to get tattoos before our wedding. I had planned a trinket tattoo on my left middle finger. It's on the side facing my wedding ring finger and the tattoo is "Mrs" in a script font. I found the script online myself and brought it in to Thad. It took two appointments to get the tattoo done evenly. Even though it's a little trinket tattoo, Thad ensured it was a quality job. Thad educated me on finger tattoos, they fade easily and will need touch-ups. I haven't had a touch up on any other tattoo, but I will definitely get one on this one to maintain the quality. I moved out of state, but next time I'm in CA, I'm sure I'll have to get a quick ink session in! read more
