Spritz and many wines by the glass.

Decided to try this place for happy hour. Excellent buffet offerings and friendly staff. Tremendous wine list most of which can be ordered by the glass. Plenty of seating and the food is frequently replenished.

We passed this place dismissively, thinking the drinks won't be up to our standard. After 20 minutes of walking around and trying another pub, we decided to walk back and give it a try. GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! Drinks are absolutely amazing. They also have a TV if you are looking for a place to watch the soccer games. We ordered four different drinks, all so darn good. They are not cheaping out on alcohol, they taste amazing and are well presented. The atmosphere is relaxed. Perfect for grabbing a few good drinks before heading out to your next destination. Great for pre drinking and grabbing a light bite.

    Aperitivo time!

I was in heaven when I found out what aperitivo was! With the purchase of a drink, you get free reign of the appetizers buffet. Got myself a red cosmo (nicely made) and took advantage of the small sandwiches and potatoes (my favorites from the buffet.) Was greeted with a smile and given a drink menu right away. Best 8€ spent in Italy!

Great selection of freshly made cocktails. The apertivo was a great value with a lot of different snacks. It is not open on Sunday.

Then they made us sit at a tiny awkward table in the corner due to missing the reservation time. Again, this is while the entire room and all normal tables were empty. Only a couple of people arrived over the next hour. The atmosphere was very cool and the drinks were strong and delicious but 24 Euros each. Mixed experience for sure. We probably would have loved it and stayed longer had they just given us one of the many empty normal tables instead of punishing us for no reason.

Lit almost entirely by candle light and furnished with antique furniture, this lounge is warm and intimate. You almost get the feeling that you've stepped into a 20's era cult gathering. Perfect for a date night or small get together. The cocktail selection includes some of the most intriguing and exotic ingredients you'll find in a drink, from soy sauce and Jerk Spice Seasoning to yoghurt and black pepper. They are primarily a whiskey bar but their cocktails run the gamut when it comes to spirit selections. If you find yourself passing through Florence you absolutely HAVE TO find time for even just one of these unique concoctions.

We spent two nights at Hotel Lungarno and enjoyed two nightcaps and two breakfasts at Picteau…read moreduring our stay. I didn't even know the name of the place until I looked it up. I guess it's a well regarded restaurant in its own right, but it was also just a good, useful hotel lobby lounge. The space was attractive, like the rest of the hotel, with a clean, pleasing contemporary look. White walls, blue and white upholstery, brown leather. Wide windows overlooking the Arno. It was nice as both a bar in the evening and a casual breakfast spot in the morning, very relaxing with great service. Cocktails were excellent, creative and well made. On the light side, I liked both the Basil and the Conte di Picche. The Basil was a cool, herbal drink with Portofino dry gin, Persichetto liqueur, basil-infused Martini Ambrato, rhubarb Nardini, Fernet Branca, and lime cordial. The Conte di Picche mixed Winestillery Old Tom gin with a Nardini bitter blend and raspberry wine. On the stronger side, the Smoked Boulevardier was a boozy, balanced cocktail made with Michter's Kentucky bourbon, Campari, Carpano Antica, and Toro Ratafia. The Cocoa combined Michter's bourbon with Michter's rye, Roger amaro, Pedro Ximenez San Emilio, and cocoa beans. Smooth and tasty. Breakfast was included with our stay, and we took advantage of both the buffet and the basic a la carte menu. The buffet was small but with all the essentials and more than a few extras. Good soft scrambled eggs and sausage, little poppy seed rolls piled with smoked salmon and basil. I'm not much of a pastry person, but I couldn't resist a fluffy cream-filled maritozzo, which went beautifully with the house cappuccino, thick with milk foam. The kitchen menu was short and simple: oatmeal, various preparations of eggs, and omelets with a choice of fillings. I got one with sausage, spinach, and mushroom, and it was quite satisfying. I liked Picteau enough that I'd recommend it to anyone traveling through Florence, whether or not they're staying at Hotel Lungarno. I especially liked it, though, as a guest. Just a lovely spot to roll in for breakfast or an easy drink.

BLUF: a truly 5-star dining experience in a beautiful setting…read more We went to Picteau restaurant for our final dinner in Italy, and are glad we did. it is located in the Lungarno hotel. If you are going to dine there, be sure to make a reservation and if the weather is nice request a patio table. The patio is small, but it's a great experience to be out there overlooking the river while you eat. Service is both friendly and top-notch. Waiter seemed to know the right time to come to the table w/o being obtrusive, and kept the meal flowing all along. The food was exquisite. One thing to know is that the starters are big enough for two. We didn't know that so we got two. The first was a caprese salad, which came with a chunk of buffalo mozzarella the size of a softball, creamy and delicious. It also had orange and red cherry tomatoes, which were sweet as they were but came in a delicious italian herb dressing. The other starter was beef carpaccio, which came on a bed of arugula and covered with parmesan slices. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, the best carpaccio I've ever had. For the main entree we both got the same thing, burrata ravioli in zuchini and saffron cream. OMG, it was great. If it wasn't such a fine restaurant I would've licked my plate clean. For dessert we shared something called a Bongo, which was custard filled bigne with cocoa and espresso sprinkled on it, along with some ice cream. Really delicious This place is not cheap, but if you are on a budget and planning one "big dinner" night, do it here.
