Eby's is Florence's hidden gem! The owner makes the best shots!!! Just tell him if you like sweet or not so sweet shots.... he is an artist at what he does! In true Italian fashion he makes miniature master pieces in every shot! This is a MUST!!! if you come to Florence!!!

The best Latin food in Florence! I had a spicy chicken and vegetable burrito and it was fresh and delicious. Prices are perfect, too! The sangria is a must have. Get the larger size for only a euro more, you'll end up wanting more if you get the small glass. The empanadas are so good! They have all kinds to choose from and they're only €1.50 each. The ladies working there when I visited were very nice!

Amazing!!! The owner was such a doll! So accommodating, one of the best experiences I had at a bar while traveling through Europe

This is a hidden gem in florence. We are so sad we found this place our last day in florence. The servers were amazing and the drinks were over the top. I recommend the Russian/sweet shot. We fell in love with this place and the way they make drinks.

The man himself!! Eby, his staff, his place...loved every moment!! Twice in one day...it was that good :)

Unique! Friendly...delicious...did I say unique?! It's an experience!! And one I'm happy to say I had twice in one day in Florence! I can't wait to come back! I'll probably stop in one more time (maybe 2) before I leave for Rome. Price and taste and service are all on point! Thanks Eby and staff!!!!!

While I can't speak for the food, the experience was unforgettable! My Italian teacher said we HAD to stop in Eby's before our time in Florence was over. He told us the shots were really unique and eccentric and he wasn't lying! This is not your traditional "knock it back" shot. Each shot I tried was complex had quite a few steps. (Eat banana, take shot, one side of an orange in sugar and the other in espresso). The bartender looked a lot like Albert Einstein and had great energy as he slammed his fists on the counter and yelled "Go! Go! Go!" We asked him to make his favorite shot and it took a good 5+ minutes to make. I'm allergic to coconut but he was more than willing to substitute the coconut vodka for something else. One of my favorite nights in the city!

This place rocks! Great staff, amazing one of a kind shots. I love Tuscany but this is the night away from pasta!

Then they made us sit at a tiny awkward table in the corner due to missing the reservation time. Again, this is while the entire room and all normal tables were empty. Only a couple of people arrived over the next hour. The atmosphere was very cool and the drinks were strong and delicious but 24 Euros each. Mixed experience for sure. We probably would have loved it and stayed longer had they just given us one of the many empty normal tables instead of punishing us for no reason.

Lit almost entirely by candle light and furnished with antique furniture, this lounge is warm and intimate. You almost get the feeling that you've stepped into a 20's era cult gathering. Perfect for a date night or small get together. The cocktail selection includes some of the most intriguing and exotic ingredients you'll find in a drink, from soy sauce and Jerk Spice Seasoning to yoghurt and black pepper. They are primarily a whiskey bar but their cocktails run the gamut when it comes to spirit selections. If you find yourself passing through Florence you absolutely HAVE TO find time for even just one of these unique concoctions.

I guess it's a well regarded restaurant in its own right, but it was also just a good, useful hotel lobby lounge. The space was attractive, like the rest of the hotel, with a clean, pleasing contemporary look. White walls, blue and white upholstery, brown leather. Wide windows overlooking the Arno. It was nice as both a bar in the evening and a casual breakfast spot in the morning, very relaxing with great service. Cocktails were excellent, creative and well made. On the light side, I liked both the Basil and the Conte di Picche. The Basil was a cool, herbal drink with Portofino dry gin, Persichetto liqueur, basil-infused Martini Ambrato, rhubarb Nardini, Fernet Branca, and lime cordial. The Conte di Picche mixed Winestillery Old Tom gin with a Nardini bitter blend and raspberry wine. On the stronger side, the Smoked Boulevardier was a boozy, balanced cocktail made with Michter's Kentucky bourbon, Campari, Carpano Antica, and Toro Ratafia. The Cocoa combined Michter's bourbon with Michter's rye, Roger amaro, Pedro Ximenez San Emilio, and cocoa beans. Smooth and tasty. Breakfast was included with our stay, and we took advantage of both the buffet and the basic a la carte menu. The buffet was small but with all the essentials and more than a few extras. Good soft scrambled eggs and sausage, little poppy seed rolls piled with smoked salmon and basil. I'm not much of a pastry person, but I couldn't resist a fluffy cream-filled maritozzo, which went beautifully with the house cappuccino, thick with milk foam. The kitchen menu was short and simple: oatmeal, various preparations of eggs, and omelets with a choice of fillings. I got one with sausage, spinach, and mushroom, and it was quite satisfying. I liked Picteau enough that I'd recommend it to anyone traveling through Florence, whether or not they're staying at Hotel Lungarno. I especially liked it, though, as a guest. Just a lovely spot to roll in for breakfast or an easy drink.

BLUF: a truly 5-star dining experience in a beautiful setting…read more We went to Picteau restaurant for our final dinner in Italy, and are glad we did. it is located in the Lungarno hotel. If you are going to dine there, be sure to make a reservation and if the weather is nice request a patio table. The patio is small, but it's a great experience to be out there overlooking the river while you eat. Service is both friendly and top-notch. Waiter seemed to know the right time to come to the table w/o being obtrusive, and kept the meal flowing all along. The food was exquisite. One thing to know is that the starters are big enough for two. We didn't know that so we got two. The first was a caprese salad, which came with a chunk of buffalo mozzarella the size of a softball, creamy and delicious. It also had orange and red cherry tomatoes, which were sweet as they were but came in a delicious italian herb dressing. The other starter was beef carpaccio, which came on a bed of arugula and covered with parmesan slices. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, the best carpaccio I've ever had. For the main entree we both got the same thing, burrata ravioli in zuchini and saffron cream. OMG, it was great. If it wasn't such a fine restaurant I would've licked my plate clean. For dessert we shared something called a Bongo, which was custard filled bigne with cocoa and espresso sprinkled on it, along with some ice cream. Really delicious This place is not cheap, but if you are on a budget and planning one "big dinner" night, do it here.
