On our way to meet up with friends from the States, we stumbled upon Moyo for a couple of drinks and Hookah. The waitress was quite nice when we bombarded her with questions about splitting bills to getting our drinks. The place was very crowded on a Friday night but surprisingly teeters out around 12-1. The negroni we ordered was strong and I wasn't sure how it was suppose to taste. To me it was a blend of vermouth and bitter rubbing alcohol. The hookah was a good smoke. I enjoyed it. read more

I love Moyo! Their aperitivo is always a little bit different than other ones around town, and is more tapas style. The appetizers are all bite size delightful savory treats, with a good mix of veggie, meat and seafood options. They have sandwiches, cheese platters and so much more. Plus it is always being replenished with new items rotated, which is the best! I also love coming here for an espresso during the day, but want to focus on aperitivo. I ordered this big pink drink which I still dream about. I saw it ordered by someone across the room and told the server I'll have whatever she's having and it was AMAZING. I mean, just look at it! You know what's really hard to find in Florence? A freaking BAR. Just a regular bar that's open late, that serves drinks. They have cafes, wine bar/enotecas (all closing pretty early), and clubs (I assume, somewhere, we didn't see any). But where do people go to get a drink at midnight? There were some nights we wandered for blocks and blocks without seeing a bar. Restaurants that serve alcohol, yes. Bars, no. Enter: Moyo. We saw it earlier in the day and mentally bookmarked it for later since we knew how hard to come by bars were! We came in late, oh wait just kidding this is Florence...early. Like 1145. They have free wifi (yay!) and a trendy-ish, cocktail lounge vibe. It's literally the only place like this we saw the whole trip. They had a big fun cocktail list. Fun crowd of younger people. If you're seeking that kind of place in Florence, circle this place on your map because you won't find many others like it. read more

LUNCH review This business is quite always opened and I've always exploited their aperitivo offer, while today we decided to grab lunch. The waitress was quite accommodating when we asked to move to people so we could use the tables outside, being 7. Then on the menu there were only "primi" (pasta) showing as menu of the day, the rest was hamburger, big salads or carpaccio. Looking for something with no meat, I went for the swordfish carpaccio, but I was told after a while that there wasn't any left. So I took the salmon salad that I must say was pretty copious and tasty. Too bad that the waitress got the order wrong, it took more than 10 min to get a glass of wine and the glasses for water where all dirty. We asked for bread and they forgot it. In general service wasn't that good and the salad was appreciable but nothing really special. read more

This is my first not so enthusiastic review in Florence but I really did not like this place. So for the sake of honesty, here is my 2-star review. I hated the inside which looks like a place you want to escape fast and where you only happen to be by (lack of) chance. But beyond this esthetic disagreement that is not so important, the aperitivo food was what made me mad because I did not consider it real food: in my opinion it was more of some random leftovers that happened to be in someone's fridge and were put on a table to feed people, by necessity. But real good food, food you have give somes thoughts to and actually prepared for a purpose and for taste: no. In brief, if you are looking for a nice aperitivo, this is not the right place I think. read more

First time having aperitivos in Florence! One drink and buffet for 7 euros wasn't too bad but the food was honestly very bland. Food: The pasta had no flavor, pizza tasted like it was from the box and the rice(?) didn't have really any seasoning. Wings weren't bad for Italy but overall I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place. Drinks: I had the long island ice tea and it was ok but my friend had the Italian ice tea which tasted much better; tangy and sweet! Apparently a popular drink there is called sweety(?) but I don't recommend at all; very artificial tasting. Atmosphere: Kindof like a club. Very dim lighting, loud music but was a fun and young vibe! There are lots of aperitivos around Florence (often in the more residential areas too!) so I feel like there would probably be better ones around town. read more

My friend and I went to Aperitivo here and although it is not the most amazing food in Italy it is pretty great for what you get. The deal is for 10€ 1 free drink and unlimited food. The atmosphere was very young and lively so I wouldn't come with my family but great for students. There was a good variety of food and throughout the night they put out new options so there was new things every time we went up! read more

Until I came here at 1:30 on a Thursday, admittedly early but with a long morning class needing a bit of a chill when the really mean bartender with the nose ring kept insulting and laughing at me in Italian. The hookah at this very popular bar, was wonderful out on the patio - and the service was great! There are not a lot of hookah bars in Florence but the atmosphere here was fun & the shisha was surprisingly smooth. It's worth it to walk around to find your way here for the nightlife in Florence. First time in Florence with my boyfriend we ordered a few drinks the Sex on the Beach was great Mojitos and flavored Mojitos have been the best in Europe so far. Walked into this bar hoping to have a single night cap until.... The freaking bar tender and waitress had to give me and my family some major 'tude!!! We went on a Saturday night for their apertivo. It was really crowded but they were able to give us a table after a short wait, which was great. They have a huge cocktail list, a whole section of which if focused around Campari (a favorite of mine). 8 Euro a cocktail and free food made for a nice little outing. Delicious cocktails and aperitivo! I came here for a late aperitivo and was happily surprised. The interior is very modern and trendy. My friends and I sat in the upstairs section, a bit tucked away which was actually really nice and comfortable. The range of food is also very lovely. There are many pastas, grain salads, bruschetta and mini sandwiches. The drinks are also very yummy.
