I call back and no answer so I head to bed. An hour later driver is at my door demanding money. Give the dude a large tip and he demands credit card to call in and pay. Finally!!!! We lived in Morris years ago and this was the pizza to get whenever you wanted a really GREAT pizza with quality ingredients. We just moved back last week and we have been craving this pizza. Finally ordered it tonight. Its even better than I remembered. They have a new location and a new menu, and even know the menu isnt very big --their pizza ia mouth watering AMAZING!! I really want to give a better review, but the order I've given the last 2 times have been very simple. Medium pizza extra cheese. First time, no extra cheese, ok that's fine, it tasted good so no need to complain. Second time, no extra cheese. Sam's Pizza of Morris is decent choice when the bars close and you and your friends need a pizza to satisfy those beer munchies (probably due to the pizza being on the salty side). The owner is from Morris, knows and remembers most of the patrons that come in to eat or for pick-up, and enjoys discussing the latest football game. The fact that the place is open until after the bars close (after 1 AM) and the pizza is decent make this place a three-star. However, the price tends to change on different nights, even when the pizza has the same toppings. The time for delivery often varies greatly, as well. This pizza place was reccomended by our hotel. Worst recommendation ever!! 2 large pizzas = $56.00. So you think maybe it's deep dish but no it's standard thin pizza. If that's not enough to keep you away the pizza is not good either. It is covered with flour on the bottom and after paying that much we didn't even finish the pizza cause it was so bad. read more

Sam the owner picked up the phone and greeted me kindly and said were open until 2am on weekdays and 4am on weekends. I ordered a medium pizza and dined in! I actually had the pleasure of meeting Sam the owner himself because he was in the kitchen making the pizza!!! What a humble guy he actually has owned this shop for 30 years and he's been doing the pizza business for 40 years. I said Sam why are you still in the kitchen when you can have someone else doing your job. He said Abe " I Love What I Do!" I can really respect a man like that! Usually i wouldn't give Sam's this type of review, they usually have great exceptional service and always a great beef roll. Last night kinda frustrated me a bit. yes ill admit i called at like 1am to see if they're making deliveries at that time . The guy one the phone said yes they're okay cool I'm in mazon... (we're like 8 miles from morris. So its a little far understanding of course) the guy on the phone WOAH now that going to have to be a GOOD TIP... excuse me... I'm a great tipper in general but who are YOU to tell me how i should tip you. If he never said anything about a tip it would have been a different story. I ended up hanging up and he called me back not one time but FOUR times! 4! Like if i didn't answer why would you continue to call me back i obviously changed my mind. We ordered three large pizzas and guy on the phone said he would call back with a total. Never did, showed up with four pizzas and a bill charging over $35 a piece for two one topping pizzas and two cheese pizzas. Called to complain and told us oh well. We called back after looking on their website and seeing exact pizza for $12 cheaper each and was told $25 off total bill is best he can do. He said the website is wrong and he has been trying to find someone to fix it?!! Our receipt was not a normal one either, no itemized receipt, just total with tip space and signature. We tipped the delivery guy $45 after talking to him and finding out the owner does this all the time. He said that we were talking to the owner on the phone, even though the guy on the phone disagreed. The delivery guy apologized over and over, saying he gets yelled at all the time for this exact thing. We accepted the horrible service and vowed never to order again. We get our pizzas in and open them up to find a poorly sliced pizza and one undercooked pizza. The slices were cut in chunks of 14"x 10" sections, and pizza bunched in the corner of box. To top it off, the pizza tasted stale, like the cardboard it came in. I will never recommend this place, and hope the owner sees this and he changes his business model. Hadn't had this pizza in a few yrs. ordered tonight and this place has really gone down hill. Got delivery and ordered the Sam's special and a 12 piece sweet heat wings. Was told my delivery would take 30 minutes, an hour and 15 minutes later I got my order from a very apologetic delivery guy who said Sam got my address completely wrong. Also my 12 piece wings when I opened them were a 6 pieces VERY small piece order. If I had pulled these out of the bag to cook up, I would have tossed them in the trash. They were SO small and very tough, the sauce was good, tasted like Sweet Baby Rays and Louisiana hot sauce together, Let me get to the pizza, omg how it's changed, it's AWFUL.......It was seriously like a pizza you pick up from the deli area at Walmart, and he added "fresh" ingredients to it.
