Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Fun place to go when we're on vacation.

Well the location is okay. It's kind of cramped, worn, and could use a scrubbing. Food was so-so. Nothing to write home about. Three burgers a corn dog and four fries and drinks came to $43.00. No value there. And to add insult to expense they charge .50 for refills. read more

Sam's Corner is a great spot for a quick bite and some good laughs. Mark is such a quick witted, super welcoming host. He had us laughing and drinking and just having a great time! Micheal was also great. We had hot dogs and $2.50 screwdrivers. I hear that the bologna sandwich is tasty as well. I am visiting from California... Sams is a Garden City tradition that everyone should try at least once. Located directly across from the Garden City Pier it is perfect for stopping in and grabbing one of their famous hotdogs or any other item on their menu. Prices are somewhat on the high side; hotdog, fries and coke is around $8; but so worth it. And it is right on the beach so paying more is to be expected. They have a full menu of items but I cant get away from the dogs to try anything else! They also serve a wide range of mixed drinks and beer so you can bring the kids and still have a nice drink. read more

Diner food. Very average vs many diners I have tried. Staff is not exactly rude but they don't smile much and are not overly friendly.

Sams corner has been open in garden city since 1976 it sits across the street from the garden city pier and for along time was the only place to grab a quick meal while staying along the beach.It is just a little diner that proclaims to have the worlds best hot dogs . It's just like a happy days place to eat where all the locals and tourist stop in to have fries and a sandwich or breakfast and a cup of coffee that still costs only five cents . This is the kind of place you can go into wearing your beach cover up . It was washed away from hurricane Hugo in 1989 and rebuilt and was closed for repairs after our latest Hurricane Matthew. Every town has a little local restaurant like this that is a fun place to stop for a quick cheap meal . read more

It's a place people love or hate. It's an old school myrtle beach place that has been around since atleast the 70's The hotdogs are great. I wouldn't bother with other menu items, stick with the dogs, especially the foot long coney. It's entertaining to go late at night in the summer and people watch. Low price booze and coffee brings in many colorful characters. It's memorable. read more

We just wanted a quick stop that wasn't at a chain. We liked the large menu and ended up with chili hotdogs and footlong corndogs. They even offer a fried bologna sandwich. Surprised to see they sell liquor in mini bottles which was kind of strange as it seemed like a family place. read more

My family and I had been reading reviews on this restaurant before trying it. There were mixed reviews good and bad so we decided to try it for ourselves. We were all very disappointed, I won't be eating it again. If I had to compare it to something I would say carnival food. I got the footlong hot dog and fries. My husband got a burger and onion rings. Our children mini Corndogs and fries. And then all of us drinks of course. It was over $40. It's very over priced for what you get. I had seen several reviews saying it was a must and delicious but I didn't think there was anything special about the place. Great diner, open 24 hrs. We liked it so much, we went there several times while on vacation. Our favorites were the pita burger, country ham biscuit and the western omelette. They also have pretty good screwdrivers and white russians for $2.50. One thing I didn't like was the $.50 charge for takeout. I don't get that. I loved hanging out, but not everytime. read more

This 24hour dive spot is good for great food after a long night out. Fried munchies, hamburgers, Texas jalapeño hotdogs, cheese fries, and beers hit the spot at 2AM on a Wednesday. read more

A true diner full of grease and service as fast as they can muster. We go here several times on each weeklong beach trip and love the memories. The El Paso is my fav! (Pimento cheese & bacon on toast). Cold beer and liquor available. Nice to have dinner near the ocean for less than $40 for a family of four. Can't beat it!! read more

Food is good. But stop serving breakfast at 10am? Walked in at 10:25am old man behind the counter says "sorry we only serve lunch now" as the eggs and bacon are sitting right behind the counter. We're not talking a major restaurant chain. This is a mom and pop corner store. We can't crack an egg at 1030? Anyway overall food is good. Chicken fingers and mac and cheese bites are amazing! Fried pickles are cut longways not as chips and are not as crispy because of this. Great stop if your drunk at 2am and want some fried food. Other then that not much to be desired. read more

After a hot day on the beach my family and I were thirsty and hungry. Sam's Corner looked like a good spot to quench our thirst and eat some diner food. It couldn't have been worse. First thing I did was order a coke, $1.99 I think, which is what i would expect. I got a 16 oz Styrofoam cup with a bunch of ice but I'll get a refill. Unfortunately I didn't see the 55 cent refill sign, i could have easily drank 5 or more down but i didn't want to pay $4 or $5! Well what about a nice ice water.....nope they won't give you that, you can buy a bottled water for $1.35!! We had already ordered our $64 worth of food that took a while, oh well, I was hungry. When we got the food there were things missing like 2 orders of fries and 2 of the burgers were not dressed even though we had requested it, they looked at us like we were trying to swindle them out of a free order of fries, whatever. I didn't take my burger back to dress it, i just walked up and asked if I could have some onions please. The sloppy beer gutted sweat hog replied "what for?" I should have replied differently but i said it was for my burger so he turned around and wiped the sweat from his forehead on his stained, aged, nasty sleeveless t-shirt and grabbed a small plastic container and dipped his gloveless dirty sweaty fingers in the diced onion container and grabbed a pinch like it was for his cheek and gums and dropped it in the container and handed it to me. I took the onions back to my seat and ignored them of course and decied to test out the burger, hmmm, no wonder it took so long for our food, they had to cook the burger an extra 15 minutes to make it safe for consumption?? The drink policy was enough to make me never set foot in there again but the food was also disgusting. The only thing i even liked about the place was there were a couple of ladies working behind the counter who were pleasant and I have a feeling they didn't like their job, i could tell when I asked for a refill and she gave me the "umm, we have to charge 55 cents for refills" like she despised having to say it. I can't remember being charged for refills in 25 years, nobody does that anymore, fountain drinks are cheap! Sorry for the long review but I hated that visit, go next door where it's clean and they have FREE refills. read more

Went to Sam's during an early morning walk and I'm so glad I did! Don't judge a book by its cover; the restaurant may not look like much on the inside or out, but inside you will find great customer service, hot coffee and the best southern ham biscuit! I turned my whole family onto Sam's. When we visit NMB every summer, my Dad and I walk each morning and the ham biscuits are our breakfast treat. read more

If you don't like Sam's then you probably don't like nice people, cheap drinks, solid american food, and a great location. I pulled up outside of Sam's by chance after a 16 hour drive down from Boston and at 9:30 am on a Sunday had one of the best experiences of my life. The guy at the counter was named Jacob, and he seemed to love having all of us in there ordering a lot of food and drinks that early in the morning. The food wasn't on the same level as anything you'd get at a 5 star restaurant, but if you expected that, then you really picked the wrong place....this is a hot dog, sausage, burger, and breakfast diner......not the Capitol Grille. The food, service, and drink specials were all I could have hoped for, and I will definitely be back some day. I went to Sam's purely by chance, and I couldn't be happier. One of my friends still has one of their bumper stickers on her car, and I still have one hanging at my desk at work. read more

This is an update to my original review. I guess this place juat gave a good first impression. I went here and the cashier did not even put our ticket through so we sat waiting for our fries for 15 minutes. The employees who took our order saw us sitting there and did nothing until we finally got up to ask. The overall cleanliness of this place is not good. Saw the cook take garbage out and not wear gloves or wash his hands before handling food. He did this every time we went. Gross. All the food is just sitting out, likely not fresh, meanwhile bugs are flying around or dead in the windows. I really wanted to like this place but after the first time, the other times I went it just seemed consistently nasty and like one of the places you see on TV that neglect the whole idea of cleaning. love the foot long chili dogs, always stop here, more for the nostalgia than anything. food comes out fast even with a big group. rough shape but that is part of its look. nothing fancy but great for a quick bite if you are this end of the beach. read more

We are residents and thought we would try Sam's since they are known for a good hot dog. Should have gotten the hot dog! We got hamburgers that were really bad and way overpriced. The buns were cheap and hard, the hamburgers were dry and had an off taste. The fries were the worst I have had in Myrtle Beach -- absolutely tasteless. And top it off, they gave me a hard time because I asked for water in a cup as opposed to bottled water that they could set me for 1.89. Maybe the hot dogs are good and possibly the breakfast items but we are not going to chance it. read more

Used to love this place, but it has really gone down hill. The people that work there are rude and act like they don't want you there. I used to love the hot dogs, but this time they were so sloppily made they were disgusting and hard to eat, and the taste was terrible and made me feel sick for two days. The place really looks unsanitary as well. The bathroom had urine all over the walls and the floor, and the employees didn't seem to care at all. I am certain that I saw the guy making hot dogs spit in a customers food because the customer got upset that they would not serve he and his wife a beer because they didn't have their drivers license. They were obviously 50+ years old and had been in the beach. The guy cooking the hot dogs said "We got a squalker" and when the customer went to the bathroom, the cook bent down where he thought no one could see and spit on the customer's food. I told the customer what I saw and he slammed the hotdogs in the garbage can so hard food went everywhere. The people working there seemed quite amazed by the whole incident and said "come on back" in a smart mouthed tone as the guy, his wife, and their daughter left. Been going here for years, but will never go back after seeing the this. Someone should contact the health department. read more

This place is terrible. Went in 4 days ago and they would not give me water without paying for it. I don't think they understand the value in taking care of their customers so they can get repeat business. The food is bad, the service is worse. There were also numerous drunk people in the restaurant that were looking to start trouble for no reason. I will never go back to this place again and would recommend that everyone else steer clear. read more
