I love the ability to scan and go. But the food court is bad. I tried everything and the food took forever and everything was gross. Lol the lady made me change my order to pepperoni pizza cause the cheese one has been out too long.... so a bit nervous on the cleanliness and the food safety.. now I just shop here but never the food court. read more

This business is absolutely the worst as a Department Store in the State if not the entire nation. My mobile number was changed but I could not get the system to recognize it on the website. Everybody recommends calling "WWW" as a better alternative, right? If you call Sam's Club customer service expecting someone to talk with a Southern drawl, you end up listening to music for 45 minutes and then end up with a Filipino call center rep talking in Tagalog. He thinks he is speaking English and after working through a scripted response, eventually a correction is made. COSTCO is based in the State of Washington and uses mostly American-based customer service. Lest you accuse this reviewer of racism and/or bigotry, think for a minute. I was debating between 3-4 stars, but I settled on 4 because 1) I was able to order a cake at the last minute and they were not booked like the other Sam's and Walmart stores and 2) they fixed an issue I had with the cake. Ok so I went to Walmart to order a cake/cupcake combo earlier in the week, but wanted to wait to be sure that's what he wanted. I went to Walmart on Friday afternoon, but the bakery was booked for Saturday pick up (totally my fault). I called a couple other stores and Sam's on Saunders, but was told it was too late for Saturday pick up. Well this Sam's told me I was still able to come and place and order to pick up for Saturday. The gentleman I spoke told me to come in and place my order and that they close at 8:30pm but could come as late as 8:15 to order. Well I wasn't going to be that late, but I was grateful they were able to accommodate my laziness and messiness :) The Baker came out and took my order, which was rather quick and painless and explained to me she would make the cake look really nice. My son asked could she put sprinkles on it and she said yes and make it look really colorful. Fast forward to Saturday, I go to pick up my cake and it's one lady putting out items, and 5 others in the back working. I gave them my name and she found my cake , and when she handed it to me I was in shock because it was the plainest cake I've ever seen for a 4 year old. Nothing what we discussed. It had the Hot Wheels design screen printed (or whatever they call it) along with the message. But the cake was all white and no color or sprinkle in sight. It really looked like a wedding cake. I asked them could they add sprinkles and some kind of color to the cake bc it was for a child and it was very bland. Not to mention the HW print was clearly just plastered up there and not on the whole cake. One of the ladies added a blue framing and sprinkles and it did spruce it up a little. Your average Sam's Club however I do prefer the other Raleigh location off S. Saunders to this one. I was bummed to find out this Sam's Club didn't have a gas pumps here but that's not too big of a deal. My main issue with this location is cleanliness and adherence (or lack of) to COVID-19 safety guidelines. 1 star for covid safety. Many people not wearing masks properly. I have even seen a few people without a mask in sight. Sam's removed all seating from their "food court" area but are still operating the kitchen. So instead of containing the food/eating to one area, people are just walking around the entire store without masks "drinking" or "eating." The whole "quickly take a bite, pull the mask up immediately" thing isn't really happening properly here from my experiences. Social distancing stickers on the ground but what good are they if people aren't paying attention to them? I've seen carts go from customer to customer without being sanitized beforehand. People will also get really close to you to either pass or grab something and not care to adhere to social distancing or ask you to move. I've seen a fair amount of food trash left on pallets around the warehouse too. I'm assuming it's probably because more people are walking around and eating... Like I said, this Sam's is very average, if not a little underwhelming. Their sanitation/covid practices do worry me so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're any bit concerned about COVID or your health. read more

HAD TO CALL THE POLICE Starting off with the food selection most of their bakery items were already going old. The danishes were already getting some sort of liquid at the top. However the service and employees are TERRIBLE. I am 85% sure an employee was trying to steal my sister's phone. She had it one moment and the next it's missing and it was within the store and was staying in 1 of three areas. The service desk, the tire center and the electronics area. I went to the service desk to ask if they had found a cellphone and the woman was incredibly rude! They acted like I interrupted their oh so important conversation and said "No." Before going back to their conversation. I found another employee who actually did look in lost in found but couldn't do much. We continued to track and watch as the phone moved from those 3. Areas and kept calling it until the person holding the phone kept hanging up after two rings or sending us straight to voicemail. I am fairly certain if we had left we would've never seen her phone again and the only reason we got it back after an hour of looking is because I called the police and then they called the phone 1 minute later it magically appears. read more

I placed an order through this store on a Thursday and went to pick it up at the selected time between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. I waited until 2:00 pm and heard nothing back. My order was in limbo, so I went to customer service and they directed me to the guy filling online orders. There was just one person filling all online orders. So when BJ's recently sent me a 60-day free trial membership, I had to do some comparison shopping (and how timely during the month my Sam's membership expires). Armed with a list of my most frequently bought items, I got my free trial membership and walked around BJ's entering into my phone the prices and sizes of the items I buy at Sam's. So here's the scoop: ...BJ's isn't quite as big as Sam's but you could still get in a day's workout by walking around in there ...BJ's selection on most items seems smaller than Sam's ...except for Tide detergent, the prices on all other things is $1-$3 higher per item at BJ's ...annual fee is $5 more than Sam's ...BJ's has an express check-out line (Sam's does not) The jury is still out, but I'm leaning towards staying with Sam's. BJ's express check-out line is almost enough to make me leave Sam's, though. read more

I have been going to this location for almost 6 years now and the staff is always super friendly. Going out of their way to say hi since my face looks familiar. Just an overall friendly neighborly experience. Prior to covid, I would shop the business member hours and it was fantastic. The store is always extremely clean and organized. Every member seems to know their way around the store, so they're always willing to help you find something. The meat department is always very accommodating for whatever I need and willing to go the extra mile if I need something more specific. Sam's Club is one of the three big warehouse clubs in the triangle area, and Sam's has more locations. Just like WalMart, you can buy some of everything at Sam's. Depending on which membership you have to the club, the hours change. They do have an early morning opening time for business or Advantage membership. If you have a lot, or not so lot of stuff that you want to pick up, they do have a click 'n pull option that you can order stuff on their website, and have it ready when you get there. A few things I like buying at Sam's is the milk, eggs, and Sausage. You can save $1 a gallon on milk, and for those that buy several gallons a week, it can add up. Sam's club also has demo days where you can sample many different types of food. Not all of the prices are good deals. Some prices of some items are cheaper at WalMart, (which is owned by the same people) and at WalMart you can use coupons to make it even lower. The bakery section is really good. You can get custom baked cakes for whatever occasion. There is also a little cafe area where you can get a fresh baked pizza for under $10, or a hot dog combo for $1.50. You have to admit $1.50 for a jumbo hot dog, and a 32 oz drink is a really good deal. When I was there today, the only person behind the counter at the time didn't wash his hands after handling money before preparing Ewww. I know that is a pet peeve for many people. So go ahead and try Sam's club, just keep up with the prices of what you buy, and compare to other places. read more

So Sam's is a place you go if you need things in bulk. If you happen to be feeding a mini army this place will definitely suite your needs better than a regular grocery store. For example, they will sell 24 full size muffins in a pack versus the typical 4 or 6. In addition the price is cheaper per muffin or whatever other item your getting. And then they also have sales...which are dope! You know how asparagus is EXPENSIVE....well they had a large bag for $5 off...so it went from $8 to $3....you can not beat that! The also do samples during certain times of the day! Customer service is good! A down fall is that you do have to pay for a membership yearly. I think it's worth it but it would depend on how often you go. Secondly they won't have everything! Obviously not everything comes in bulk so there are certain items and brands you just won't find here. I'd recommend Sam's but keep in mind that it is a commitment. read more

I've had quite a lot of issues here. First they took my money and canceled my membership the next day, also I had to chase down them to give me the joining benefits a month later because they conveniently forgot to send it. Then another time I got a refund on an item that was busted and the next day, the pending refund disappeared from my bank account. I had to chase that down as well. but this may not be this store in particular, just the system. the one thing I know is the store though is the food court, something seems to always be broken. The three times I went there, the cashier lady was rude, or there was one poor exhausted guy there doing 2-3 peoples work while a manager walked by a few times, staring at the guy running around and leave without helping, the guy there was doing a really good job considering. read more

Okay, so we've been members here for years, thanks to my awesome In-Law's business, and I've never felt compelled to write a review (good or bad) for them before, but I gotta tell you, there's a new friendly vibe going on at this one and it's really nice. We actually walked out of here last weekend feeling, well, special! We did our usual waiting in line to pay, and this time was slightly less than usual. Let's face it, the lines can be killer here. I will say it's always interesting to see what folks will buy in bulk though, huh? (Okay, so maybe I'm the only one who finds that amusing). Our turn and here comes Friendly Encounter 1: The guy at the register (sorry I didn't catch his name) got through ringing us up and asked us if we'd like to save $40 by opening a credit card. Uh...what's the catch? Is there a yearly fee? No? Are you sure? Well, heck yeah! Key in a few pieces of info and then came: Friendly Encounter 2: Friendly Encounter 1 called over 2 who was a gal who had just gotten off-duty and was on her way out the door. He told her we had just signed up for the card. She not only reassured us that there were no yearly fees but personally escorted us to the Service counter! (remember she was not even working anymore!) where she introduced us to: Friendly Encounter 3: Jade. Yes, I got her name this time. Jade not only took care of issuing the temporary card, but did what she needed to do to give us the $40 discount... Score! The whole time, 1, 2 & 3 could not possibly have been more conversational and friendly. And the best was still to come! Sam's Club made me THIN! Thin, skinny, ten years younger! I kid you not. When I mentioned to Jade that I hadn't been able to find my Sam's card in awhile (always had to go with Husband using his), she made me a new card. Complete with a new pic. Folks this gal can take a pic! I haven't looked that thin since middle school! So, we practically skipped out of Sam's Club this last time thanks to Friendly Encounters 1, 2 & 3, AND thanks to NO encounters with the dastardly direct tv demons that used to haunt us there. Thankfully we have not encountered them recently. My goodness they were relentless and we used to have to play dodge ball to get around them. I tell you, I don't know if it's new management or what, but there's friendly in the air at this Sam's right now and I do think Jade should consider photography as a career! Edited to add that to make things even better here...they now have self-checkout! Been needing this for years, but it has finally happened...yeah! I went there for an interview and when I arrived they all kept looking at each other trying to figure out who could give me an interview very unprofessional. They kept asking me who did I have an interview with like it was my fault that they didn't know or didn't care about what was going on. I was told to sit at the cafe until someone came to help me. Someone came from the bakery to ask me was I there for an interview I don't remember them asking for my name I told her yes she told me she was going to come back I never heard from her again. It looked as if she had an attitude that I was there I sat there for almost an hour looking stupid waiting for an interview that never was conducted. That was a very humiliating experience for me. We had a problem with a recliner we purchased at Sam;s three months ago. Before making arrangements to bring the recliner back, I went to the service desk and asked about my options. I was told to return it and they would either replace it or refund the purchase. Good news is that they did exactly as they said. The return process was smooth. The process of bringing the replacement recliner to the front was a different story. It took over 40 minutes from going through the checkout line before my recliner was brought up front so it could be loaded into my neighbor's waiting truck. The checkout lane supervisor was very polite and kept giving me updates on when the recliner would be brought forward, Not sure what the delay was in getting my purchase brought up front, but she claimed the store manager finally got into the process of why it was taking so long. read more

I have been to many Sams along the East Coast and this has to be the one that is in the worst shape of any of them. They do not have gas. The line at the food is always long and the area to eat usually pretty dirty. The lines are long, if not for the self checkout they place would be a total nightmare. The Sam's in South Raleigh is nicer and has a much better selection of products. The one associate at the Member Services desk couldn't do her job because she didn't have keys, but instead of moving to the other register she continued to hold up everyone else in the line because one person didn't bring their original receipt. Let me first state that I'm in SAMS every week. I purchase large quantity breakfast and lunch items as we feed people with disabilities on a M-F basis, every week. I enjoy buying in bulk, as it is needed and cuts down on grocery runs. Unfortunately, I have to give this location 3 stars... reason being I have purchased food items, and on 3 separate occasions had the item spoil or mold within a weeks time. Granted I am now aware you can bring it back, per conversation I had with front desk. However that does a busy person such as myself any good. I literally don't have time for that. It's unfortunate because we are consistent, repeat customers. Don't think I'm going to renew this year... might check-out some of the other big box stores. Very disappointed. read more

I enjoy going to Sam's Club to get my daughters milk because they have the best price for the container size. I also get coupons in the mail for her milk (from the manufacturer) which makes the milk a lot cheaper than the sticker price. Sam's does run monthly promotions where the milk as well as other items throughout the store are marked cheaper. I also enjoy trying the samples they have scattered around the store. It really gives you an opportunity to try the different products so that you don't purchase a bulk item that you really don't like. read more

When thinking of warehouse clubs Sam's is probably the first one to come to mind for most people. I'm generally a bigger fan of the other clubs, especially BJ's since I have a membership there also, but Sam's does have a few things that they don't. As the person who provides snacks at my office, I like that some of the snacks come with the resale packaging which looks a bit more "professional". I also like that their snack section is near the front of the store. They also have a bit more variety of items to choose from in that department. What I don't like is that it is always a bit crowded in there. I'm also not the biggest fan of them not accepting all the major forms of payment (Visa is not always everywhere you want to be). read more

First of all, pick up a rotisserie chicken for less than 5$! I do every shopping trip, they are delicious!! Then i ordered a chocolate cake for 20$ enough for 37 people!! We had over 25 people over big and small and we have plenty of leftovers, i made the order over the phone and it came out perfect! Chocolate was nice and moist, i would advise to get the whipped icing though, because the butter cream is veery heavy and thick! But still delicious if you've got that sugar tooth!! read more

No longer a Sam's Club customer, apparently Sam's Club can charge your card for automatic renewal, even after you've been informed that they no longer have your bank information. I tried to get that unauthorized charge voided by Sam's Club and was unable to get any assistance correcting this mistake, even after waiting on the phone for an hour, it's just crazy to me that a company can charge your card online, without your authorization, and is unable to void that charge, that is really unfair to customers. If you're trying to get a membership with Sam's Club, I would highly recommend only paying cash or with a Visa gift card. read more

I purchased a swing set and acquired a membership online. The sequencing of the order didn't prompt me to enter a different shipping address than billing so I ended up with the wrong shipping address. I notice this immediately so I went to try and change it to no avail. Started a chat with a BOT and I was told to cancel the order which I wasn't able to do. There are no phone numbers to contact them so I ended chatting with an alleged real person online (after a 45 minute wait) who a first told me I couldn't cancel it or change it. They then said they elevated it and someone would be contacting me 72 hours! Horrible customer service to make something so simple this difficult to change. I will never again use Sam's Club going to stick with online merchants that have user friendly service with real customer service. read more

Customer service here is very hit or miss. That's my main concern and what has me very reluctant to continue going to Sam's. I just found out the other day that it's a Wal-Mart affiliate...makes sense now. If it weren't for the cash-back we get with Dosh, I'd just cancel our membership and go elsewhere. But it's pretty nice being able to get 3% cash back on every purchase here! I recommend y'all download the Dosh app...it makes going to Sam's so much better! Much better pricing than Costco or BJ's. I've been a member of all 3 clubs for multiple years. Docking a star because this location has no gas station. IMO, all Sam's clubs have much better meats for the price than the others. Sam's food court also has better prices. But for some reason, a few Sam's items have higher prices than Walmart - but probably still priced better than the other clubs. Costco crowds members in with shorter store hours and a nightmare parking lot. Costco meats don't compete, partly because they "over-package" the meats and jack the prices up. BJ's comes in 3rd because of pricing, selection, and poorest checkout system. Meats are similar to Costco. BJ's is rarely crowded - but it might be for the reasons I listed. read more
