    Slices of Cheese and Pepperoni

We were sad when Dagwoods closed and Santa Monica lost another restaurant we really liked. Its location on Wilshire was perfect for us when either walking to the beach or heading home after. We were happy to see that Sampas recently moved into the same location and had to try it! It's different than Dagwoods in that the slices are smaller and it takes longer for them to be prepared. Dagwoods slices were very large, like you'd get from most NY style pizza places. Sampas slices are smaller but priced accordingly. You can order a slice of any of their specialty or traditional pizzas at the same reasonable price. If you liked Dagwoods I I recommend trying Sampas out. Although their slices are smaller and take longer to prepare, they use quality ingredients and the wait is worth it. The dough seems slightly different than typical NY Style Pizza. Never had Brazilian Style before but we really liked it. Both of us even enjoyed the crust! The restaurant was very clean and bright with several televisions for viewing sports. The seating was new and comfortable. Our server Sara was very nice and attentive. Give them a try.

    Half and half

Found this place on yelp. We tried 4 different flavors and they were all great. Ultimate group favorite was the prosciutto. I recommend trying this place out !

Fantastic pizza, and you can get half and half pizzas (or more). We got the half Sau Paolo (with chicken and corn) and half Veggie. Great stuff!

This is the NOT Greek salad I paid for

Went there for lunch just wanted just a slice of pizza and a salad. She indicated that two slices and a salad were $12.75 got it as it was not much more so I took it. I was brought out the two slices but no salad so I asked for the salad ... started to eat almost the second slice of pizza went inside told her just to put the salad in a bag to go!! I had ordered a Greek salad. Just went to eat the salad and it NOT a Greek salad but some funky tree lettuce salad- that was a waste of what $10!!! I don't live in this area so it's not like I was going back there again, but I will never go back if I'm in that area. Simple order should not be messed up that badly. It wasn't even crowded. And I Gave a tip should never did that before service. I didn't even get silverware with the to go salad. Oh, and the pizza wasn't even that good

MUST TRY!! This new local owned pizza place is our new favorite pizza spot. Delicious pizza with quality ingredients. Crust is chewy and crusty at the same time. They also serve amazing sweet pizzas but we ate before the picture.

Yum!!! The pizza is really good. Delicious cheese. San Marzano sauce. Chewy dough. 2 slices and a beer for around $15. Pizza hit the spot. Friendly service. Good ambiance, it's a pizza place. Just what you would expect in that regard. Clean.

The Diavola pizza I ended up choosing was so good--perfect balance of spice, richness, and that classic wood-fired taste. The bolognese was super authentic and just oozing with flavor, and the Caesar salad totally surprised me--in the best way. It had these tiny crunchy crumbs on top that gave it such a unique texture. BUT I have to mention something that really threw me off. I asked one of the pizza makers which pizza she recommended because I was stuck between a few options, and she paused, looked at me, and said, "I don't really like the pizzas here." I genuinely didn't know how to respond. I even had to double-check with my friend to make sure I heard her correctly. It was such a strange moment... especially because the pizza ended up being amazing. On the flip side, our server was fantastic. Even though she was clearly slammed, she kept checking in and made sure we knew she hadn't forgotten about us. That level of attentiveness goes a long way. Overall: incredible food, great service, but one very confusing interaction. I'd definitely come back..just maybe skip asking the pizza maker for recommendations next time

We landed on the back patio, which is the move -- string lights, trees, really cute. Your other options are a few tables out restaurant-side or a boxed-in area on the street side. Just know it's all outside, and even with heaters around it gets chilly at night. We came for the pizza and that's exactly where the focus should stay: * Cacio e pepe pizza: Surprisingly delicious. Not a 1-1 with the pasta you're familiar with, but still really good and worth ordering. * Diavola: Spicy and always my favorite. * Margherita: Classic and solid, always worth having. * Rigatoni with pink vodka sauce: Server's rec for most popular sauce, and it delivered. * Little gem salad: Super herbaceous and delicious. * Arancini: Skip it. Middling for the price point... put that money toward another pizza. Pizzas and pastas run $25-29. FYI there's a 3% Healthy LA fee on your bill. Payment is handled tableside on a touchpad (card, Apple Pay, etc.). Vibe is cute, service was helpful, and I'd definitely return to lean even harder into the pizza menu. Came here for a casual lunch with colleagues and left already planning my next visit. The pizza is shockingly affordable for Santa Monica--and actually filling, which feels rare these days. I had no idea it even existed since the front seating gets all the attention, but the patio feels like a little oasis--quiet, charming, and perfect for a relaxed lunch break. Great food, great value, and an unexpectedly lovely atmosphere. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation.

Kenzie was our server and she made the whole dining experience wonderfully entertaining. We definitely felt like special guests. To start, we had a chicken live mousse. Although it was great, the sourdough definitely stood out. It felt fresh, even when we came close to closing. The yellowtail crudo that our server recommended was the favorite of the two Crudo dishes, but maybe I'm biased because there was SE Asian influence (and I'm Vietnamese). I'm most impressed with the small details in the execution of the dishes. Like how did they make the shell pasta dish crispy, WITHOUT making it dry? How did they make the chicken Milanese so crispy and light? How did they make the pizza so thin, yet not flimsy? Ive dined at over 80 of the LA Time's 101 Top Restaurants and these are the details that make me come back for more. Our party liked everything we ordered. From the smoked mozzarella stick to the Wagyu tri tip. The finishing polenta cake was the blueberry on top (literally had blueberries). They dropped everything right away to get us out. I took my wife, my daughter and my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law can barely walk so to take her out is a process and something special. I get it. Probably long Sunday for the team. But do not take a 2 PM reservation if you're going to rush people out. It's not fair. My wife wanted a casual lazy Sunday brunch with her mom and her daughter and we were wrapped by 2:45pm. This wasn't right. Especially on a Sunday Mother's Day. We eat all over town. The place is small so if you want to do a walk in be prepared to wait, but the wait is honestly so random. One time I got in 25 minutes later and next time 45 minutes. First time, I got takeout and was honestly disappointed. The pizza got cold during the 12 minute walk back to my apartment and it just didn't hit the same because it wasn't fresh. Second time, we did a walk-in on a Sunday and somehow got really lucky. Waited about 20 minutes at a nearby coffee shop because of cancellations. We got the Margherita special and Ruti's pizza, and both were out of this world. Especially the Margherita special... this is hands down my favorite pizza i've tried in LA. I tend to gravitate toward classic flavors and they did everything right with this one. The crust alone... probably the best Neapolitan dough I've had in my life. It's pillowy, soft, slightly chewy, and just has that perfect structure. Only thing to note is their pizzas are VERY floppy. Like... really floppy. So if that's not your thing, you might not love it as much. Ruti's pizza is a white base with soppressata, fresh arugula, and hot honey. The sweet and spicy combo worked really well, super balanced and not overwhelming. We also got the tricolor salad which was a great starter. Very fresh, bright, and tangy from the lemon dressing. It cuts through the heaviness of the pizza perfectly. Third time, we did another walk-in on a Saturday around 2:30 PM and got seated within 30 minutes. At this point I'm convinced I just have good luck with the wait times!! We ordered the mala lamb sausage, diavola, bianca, and tiramisu. My favorite this time was the bianca. It was lighter and acted as a really nice palate cleanser between the heavier pizzas. You can actually taste the lemon in it, which surprisingly I loved on pizza. Only thing is you have to eat it fast because once it cools down, the cheese solidifies pretty quickly. The mala lamb sausage is definitely a crowd favorite, but not my personal favorite.... It leans heavier and the lamb flavor comes through pretty strong. If you like bold flavors you'll probably love it, but I personally prefer something more classic and clean like the margherita or the bianca. The diavola was solid. The soppressata brought the right amount of spice and everything felt really balanced. And the tiramisu... I will always get this if I have room for dessert. It's a good portion size!! The three of us shared it after already eating three pizzas (and still had 3 slices leftover) and we were completely stuffed. I would come back again for the Margherita special and the tiramisu alone.
