I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. The reason I'm bringing this up is simple. I'm English, with an English accent , and many people nowadays actually ask me what language I'm speaking, because they don't understand anything I'm saying, nor I them . With all the stress you have moving , you need to understand each other, especially if your objects are very precious to you , to how your articles should be handled, to asking them if they'd care for lunch, or if they'd just like a Margaritas . My moving men were Mike and C-Lo. WOW ! These lads knew what they were doing ! It was incredible ! Over 10 hrs they worked , and I mean WORKED, only taking 1/2 hr for lunch . I said they could take longer, but 30 minutes to the dot they were back on the clock . I paid for their lunch, which was not requested , but I insisted. It was the leas quite amazing how much junk one has, isn't it? Its amazing how much Junk you still wish to keep isn't it ! Mike and C-Lo packed, sorted, put Labels on everything, , then " Bubble wrapped all the " fine China, pictures, antique clocks from Great Britain, right down to me beautiful dancing shoes, plus pots , pans and the microwave oven . Even me " old George Foreman grill " was tucked away neatly . Me " Cutie Bears" books were heavy , but watching C-Low and Mike it seemed like it was nothing at all to them . We chitchatted with them the whole time whilst they were moving , about baseball, to how much they loved their job, and how they truly liked working for Matt and Scott. There's a change for sure. The last movers I had were muttering away in some language I didn't understand , but I could tell they hated their job . Moving is an art , very few people can do it well ! Then from our old place to moving to the " new place" it was one flight up. NO lift ( elevator ) , and it's 10 PM. Mike and C-Low didn't complain , nor did they stop working. They unloaded everything, PLUS PUT THE BED BACK TOGETHER , because I , yes lazy ME, was tired and wanted to LAY down! C-Low had another job to do the next morning, but stayed with us until every single box was unloaded and accounted for . How their women put up with their hrs. I have no idea. The owners were on the phones in their Office, and could be relied on , if we needed them. We didn't ! Moving is one of the most exhausting, and mentally draining activities people have to go through in their lives. YOU NEED THE RIGHT MOVERS, and I found them! They should put on their trucks " We AIM to Really Please ; and We Always Really Do ! Your girlfriends and wives will be 100% satisfied with our work , as We RISE to each and every occasion. " They never asked for a tip, but I gave each of them a $50 .00 ( American dollars , not 50 British shillings ), and I didn't think that was enough, thee way they worked. Both C-Low and Mike were very thankful . I told them to take their girlfriends out , but being in New York ,Long Island it might just cover enough for their petrol ( gas) and a Guinness. I had called very few other moving companies, but when I heard Scotts voice, yes HE answered the phone, no recorded message, I knew I hit the jackpot. I made it clear that I had a lot of large, heavy furniture and I also told them the sizes of the two storage units that I wanted emptied and brought to my new house. I specifically asked if it would all fit and if they would make multiple trips. I was quoted a price for six hours including tax. They did bring most of the large, heavy stuff but took NONE of the boxes. Now I am left to empty half of a 10x25 unit in MANY trips in my car. Not only that, but one of the movers spent a lot of time trying to get out a splinter (using tweezers that I offered) and using the bathroom and the other guy stood around waiting for him. This caused me to be charged for an extra hour. I'm grateful for what they did, but it wasn't as much as I was expecting. I'm older and on a limited budget so I went with the lower priced option because she said they would handle it, but they didn't and now my arthritic knees and back are paying for it.

Moving day can be stressful and not having a well planned estimate will cause issues…read more We were quoted $1,300 - $1500 for two men and a half day. We were asked to send pictures of all our items so they can fine-tune the estimate and make sure they are properly prepared to meet the customers' needs. We followed their request and sent pictures of EVERY item to be moved. Subsequent to sending the pictures the estimator said that after reviewing the photos he would like to add an additional man and increase the time based on his review of the photos. Their proposal was increased slightly ($1,500 - $1,700) (we had no issues with the request), and we awaited their arrival on moving day. Moving day came the workers on the truck were very nice. However mid-way through moving things went south fast. The workers broke an expensive glass bar cart and called to inform their home office. The original estimator then called to say we had more stuff than anticipated and the truck was full. The stuff was exactly what was in the one dozen photos sent two weeks prior to the move. These photos contained all the furniture and all of boxes that we had packed for the move. He then proceeded to state that we "didn't inform them there were boxes to move" (a complete lie). We calmly said two of the pictures sent to you (which the workers on site actually had on their cell phones) have a stack of boxes in the family room and another from the garage. He said well, "people move their boxes themselves sometimes'". Our response was simply questioning why we would have sent the pictures, at their request, if we intended to move them on our own. After arriving at 11:05 and deciding they were done at 5:30 sharp, the movers left over 20% of the remaining contents. They said they needed to move what they have in the truck and "they would come back the next day", but we would be getting another quote for the remaining move. When I questioned the additional quote the gentleman from the home office then revised it talk track to say he would not be able to insure he could come back tomorrow (Saturday, knowing the house was being sold) and stated and he would do it in 3 days (past the date of the house being sold) but the quote had to be signed to get on a possible schedule. He carried on saying "couldn't disrupt his clients already on tomorrows schedule". I guess its OK to disrupt a client by leaving 20% of the job behind. His quote for completing the move arrived the next day and the move would now be almost double the original price! Needless to say we quickly found an honest and reputable company for less than 1/2 of the additional quote from Two Movers. Two days later they sent a final bill for $800.00 more than his revised estimate, bringing the total moving cost to more than twice their original estimated when added to the additional mover we had to hire. We informed them of their error in number of hours billed, and reminded them they didn't complete the job, and that they broke the bar cart. Their response was that the bar cart isn't covered as they were not specifically informed of it in the move list, but they would give me $50.00 for it even though it was included in the pictures we had sent which prompted them to increase the original estimate. They said any items not specifically "written" on the contact were not their liability! The reality is they received pictures of all the items being moved, they double checked those photos well enough to increase the estimate to include an additional man. While we hope for a fair resolution that accurately accounts for actual hours worked and the damage to the property they caused, we have so far not heard back from them revising their billing or received any apology for the distasteful experience Update : The owner called apologized for the stress and miscommunications and we settled on a fair amount for the work they did The owner was very nice and concerned about our experience and perception of his office staff because it's not what the majority of his customers experience according to him My advice ask a lot of questions and list as many of your bigger or more expensive/delicate items upfront so you can openly discuss how they will be handled. Nothing was broken, damaged, or missing. The move into my new space was just as smooth as the move out of my old one. They carefully followed all of the building's rules for elevator use, placed furniture exactly where I requested, and neatly stacked boxes in the appropriate rooms. What impressed me most was their professionalism and attention to detail. They communicated clearly throughout the process, regularly checked to make sure I didn't have any questions, and truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. Before leaving, they removed all of the packing materials they had used and left both my old and new homes clean and tidy. The entire move stayed on schedule and was remarkably efficient. I called the day before we needed to move it, and got lucky that they had a cancelation and could squeeze us in with 1 days notice. The unit was heavy and awkward and had to go down some steep stairs into a basement. The movers handled the job professionally and got the machine into the basement with no damage to the machine, the house, or themselves. That was quite an accomplishment!!! If I had one concern about All My Sons it's their failure to clearly communicate pricing and liability limitations. I was told that their minimum charge is 2 hours. It's actually 2 hours plus travel time. And, I wasn't told that their liability limitation is 60 cents per pound. That would have come out to $240 for a $1500 appliance -- definitely not enough to replace the appliance if something had happened. I might not have hired All My Sons if I'd seen this. We got lucky.
