I had the MOST disappointing experience with Twin Forks. I had them receive a very expensive table for my client which was delivered and video taped by the fabricator at their shop showing that it was perfect. It was delivered to my clients' with a big gash in the leaf of the table. My client pointed it out to the driver but was nice enough not to accuse him personally of doing it but knew it arrived perfectly at their warehouse. Instead of the driver making a note the company said the client was at fault for signing it. I wrote a three page certified letter to the owner which was never even answered and they refused to pay for the repair which I had to pay out of my own pocket. $650 as the fabricator had to send someone out from their shop in Indiana to repair the damage. I still had a piece of furniture coming for them to receive which was too late to cancel so they "stuck it to me" with charges for services I'd never even heard of. It is ironic because they had already stuck me with the bill for the repair and ignored my letter of complaint and explanation about the damage. I have been an Interior Designer for 40 years using movers and receivers all over the country and I have never had an experience like this. I did see that the owner, Chris Denton, had another similar issue and the person on the review said he never answered or addressed his problem either. I have rerouted all of the furniture coming in to my clients in The Hamptons and have been sure to tell my many vendors in New York as well as the professional organizations of which I am a long time member so they know not to use them. Mistakes happen, things get damaged all the time but who wants to work with a mover or receiver who turns their head and treats a customer with such disrespect. My wife and I used the company for a move in early October. They offered by far the lowest estimate for the move--and ended by charging one-fourth LESS. They were prompt, courteous but all business, and clearly listened to everything we said or suggested. It just turned out to be so much easier than we feared. I must say that my wife and I prepared very well, so everything in this case was packed. But watching them wrap and move other things, I had no doubt that they would do excellent packing, too. We looked quite awhile for a low bid and good reviews and were getting pretty scared at some reviews of other companies and beginning to accept that we would have to pay more than we hoped. They called to give 30 minutes notice before both pick up and delivery, they arrived and put my item in place exercising great care. Had an estimate from them to move the contents of our home to a storage unit. They gave us the boxes and we were told any unused boxes we would be refunded for. The final bill was 3 times what the estimate was for and never refunded for the unused boxes. I understand that there will be a little adjustment to the original estimate but it was a little ridiculous. And 1 damaged piece of furniture. Not using them again. read more

The absolute worst. They damaged every single piece of furniture! All were antiques. So my repairs were extensive and expensive. Broken fine China that was my Grandmother's. Broken cane seating or a tiger wood chair that the owner took and went I went to the offices 3 weeks later, the Owner and his number one employee laughed at me. My intuition told me he threw it away. He lost beds! 3 Antique ones. He was supposed to give my Sister one storage unit and me another. Without telling us they took everything to WestHampton and both of our thins in one storage unit. Allowing her to go through every box of mine and the employee with a photogenic memory told me a piece of my furniture was missing. She was able to help herself. I am not interested in suing people. But don't use this company. Bad people. Their cruelty was so unnecessary. read more

I have been in business for 45 years as a professional designer and I was a customer of this company for ten years. Never owed them a penny. Generally pretty good, although expensive. That said, about a year ago I noticed they were not doing their job - they did not inspect items upon delivery or even let me know when something was received. As a designer, that information is critical in case there is a claim that has to be filed for damage. When I asked why they were not telling me when deliveries arrived or why they were not being inspected, I was told by Cate, the office manager, that they were "too busy." Last month a very expensive custom cabinet that was made in Europe was received by them and subsequently scheduled for delivery to my client. When it arrived at my client's house, the delivery men showed me that there was a huge chunk of wood taken out of the edge on the top of one of the cabinets and the box was a mess - torn, broken, dented. It was clear that nobody had bothered to inspect the piece for damage when it arrived although it is SOP when a carton is received by a receiving warehouse that is damaged the first thing that is done, and done immediately before accepting it, is open the box, look for damage, document it on the Bill of Lading, and advise the customer. I told them to put it in the house, went directly to my office and called a furniture repair company. About an hour later I got a crazy voice message from the owner, Chris, stating repeatedly that he had "made an executive decision" to go back into my client's house without my permission or knowledge and take the item back to their warehouse. I was flabbergasted. They then took it upon themselves to try to fix it, also without my permission, all the while insisting that they had not damaged the cabinet. I asked them why, if they did not damage the piece, did they take it back in order to repair it? No response. I called two weeks later, and they said it was done. I asked for a photo of the repair. It was clearly unacceptable - so bad that they didn't even argue but said they would try to fix it again. I told them to just return it but they refused and insisted they get paid for the delivery. The charge was an inflated bill for $600 and when I questioned how a 20 minute delivery could cost that much, they said they were billing me a "three hour minimum" (for a delivery service?) which I had never heard of. IMO they were trying to cover their cost for the failed repair. When I asked the if that meant for every 8 hours of work they were actually billing for 24 hours, they hung up on me. In an effort to get my merchandise, I agreed to sign their ACH withdrawal authorization form. They had refused a business debit card, asked for CASH, and, when I said I would not drive an hour to deliver cash, which is totally unbusinesslike to begin with, they insisted that I sign the form for an unspecified amount before releasing the furniture to another trucking company. Every time I called they hung up or did not pick up the phone. The only way I finally reached them was to hide my number (*67) when I called. THEN they picked up and were shocked to hear me on the phone. I asked for the owner, who took the call and without a word hung up the phone again. FOLLOWUP: I ultimately received the cabinet by sending the ACH form and hired another company to pick up the cabinet. which cost me additional monies. The moving company found - and documented - additional damage on the cabinet when they went to pick it up, damage that could only have been done in the Twin Forks warehouse. Now this will cost me even more in order to have the cabinet fixed. They lied, they were rude, they were totally unprofessional, took the merchandise from my client's house without authorization, refused to take responsibility for their damage, refused to return my cabinet, did not do the job they were supposed to do, and held me hostage for money in the face of damaging a $5000 cabinet before agreeing to release the cabinet to another delivery service. Needless to say, I will be suing them for diminished value and out of pocket expenses. The worst. read more

I was committed to writing a review for Twin Forks after we used them for our recent move. We have used them in the past for other members of our family. This time it was for us. As most people know, moving is up there as one of the most stressful events in a persons life. From the time I called Twin Forks, until the day they packed us and moved us, our experience has been totally amazing. From my point of view, they have nailed how to make the entire process stress free. We moved from a house, to an apartment. Needless to say, this was not an easy task. The team that moved us, were extremely neat, accommodating, and very professional. I want to give them a shout out as well....it was a crew headed up by George. They were GREAT GREAT GREAT. Nothing was too much for them and they handled tough situations with ease. Also ALL the people at Twin Forks were nice, customer friendly, and willing to please. Gabe, who was our point person, made this move really easy for us. From the beginning he supplied us with a good faith estimate, a list of places to donate merchandise, and crew to handle discarding heavy things, as well as ordering, delivering and taking care of the dumpster that we needed. Twin Forks will do the final stage of the move this week. We put my son's furniture into storage which will be moved out this week. Gabe was patient and dealt with all of my concerns. I never had to wait for return calls....and I made a lot of them. There was not any pressure put on us and he was very respectful of our concerns and budget. Upon delivery of my things, not one item was broken. Hope we have the same results when they move my son's belongings out from storage. I strongly believe that good customer service and a professional organization should be recognized. In reading some of the reviews where the company got a "1" it is hard to believe we are talking about the same company. The people at Twin Forks were accommodating, professional, and available. I can not express enough how amazing this company is! I have used them for multiple moves and have always been 100% satisfied. My foreman for my move, John, along with the three men who work with him, were polite and professional. They took care of all of my belongings, including several large metal sculptures, custom pieces of art, a baby grand piano and a 60+ year old organ. good service before my move and nice and helpful crew. move complicated bc during covid. however movers took along time to arrive at my new house and were unable to unpack and assemble all furniture/boxes. some furniture was damaged and they brought back with them to repair- these items were never returned despite repeated requests. a vintage sign was missing and I could not claim in insurance bc I was told it could be in an unpacked box that was beneath furnishings in my storage area- when box was later unpacked, sign was still missing. took almost 6 months to sort out insurance claim. read more

I stored my belongings with Twin Forks when I moved from the Hamptons . When I found a house I had my storage shipped and received only half my belongings . I was told it was two trucks . It came in one small truck. Every box was retapped . repacked. I trusted Chris with a lot of art and some was stolen, a lot was broken and repacked . Furniture vanished , my clothing and shoes are all gone ! Personal effects , important financial papers. They even repacked my china with sissors . They are denying all of it . We used Twin Forks to receive, inspect and install all the furniture for a 5 bedroom house in Bridgehampton. They made everything very easy for us to monitor the project from Los Angeles. Very professional in all aspects. Even when we had several items get damaged in transit, they were helpful in getting things settled with third parties. They were also great with our client. I used this company last week, based on a friend's recommendation and not based on some of the older negative reviews. I was very happy I did! (which is why I'm taking the time to write this.)The whole office staff was courteous and answered every question truthfully. Ricardo keep me continually updated on the time of pickup, due to a shortage of staff for that day. The 3 man crew that showed up, Roy, Terry and Danny were polite and very efficient and even apologized for running late, which was thru no fault of their own. They dismantled, wrapped and delivered the furniture and reassembled it in the new location without damage. They were SUPER patient when I asked them to rearrange it's placement NUMEROUS times until I was satisfied. They couldn't have been nicer to work with and I would definitely use them again. The worst moving experience I have ever had. Rude, entitled, unprofessional, they are the Optimum Commerical with the guys in the pool - on steroids. Boxes were mislabeled, wardrobe boxes were filled with crushed clothes, and stuffed with pillows, shoes, bags anything they could lay their hands on. Clothes were stored, and now everything can be thrown out. 18th Century desk gouged, piano almost dropped on the front stairs, valuable paintings arrived with broken glass in frames. Horrendous experience with this company. They could not figure out how to move a sofa out of my apartment (I had to tell them to take the legs off). They damaged the walls and mouldings and did not offer to compensate for the damage! Then upon arrival at the new location they refused to move the sofa to the second floor as discussed. Said it was not possible which of course it is. Just had a great experience with B&N movers who were kind professional and moved the sofa upstairs without an issue. Hire B&N. Stay away from Twin Fork. They're unprofessional, obnoxious and incapable of moving a simple sofa. Horrible! read more

Also, they outsourced the job to another company and didn't supervise the job. They asked that I pay in cash .. I guess Chris doesn't use the same teachers, fire dept, military, roads, etc. that I use and wanted to avoid taxes?? I eventually wrote him a check that he insisted be made to him personally and not the business.. Also, all of my tools and emergency equipment was stolen. Despicable! read more

I have used them on 2 big moves - the last was from Long Island to North Carolina with a lengthy stop over in their storage facility. . The packing crew is professional, caring and kind. The crew that brought the contents of our very large house down south then were careful to place everything exactly where we wanted and even offered extra help. Great crew. Truly an efficient, organized, and courteous team that went out of the way to make this complicated move as quick and painless as possible. Over two days, Twin Forks deftly handled packing the contents of a four story home in East Hampton (which included four bedrooms, two libraries, a full basement, and a pool house) and then relocated the items to multiple addresses in the tri-state area. This was one of those jobs that had everything -- pianos, art that needed crating, chandeliers, furniture to donate, a storage unit in New Jersey, an apartment in Manhattan. Final price was very near the original estimate, which was incredible considering I decided to use their packing blankets and also had a few last minute add-ons. These guys moved my mother out of her home of 40 years last week. We could not have been happier. Things went to basically three places -- her apartment, to storage and to be donated. They also packed -- which included the entire kitchen, a lot of art, and furniture and clothing. The packers were terrific -- extremely helpful, flexible and nice to have around -- and the movers were the same. There were steep stairs involved, and many heavy and fragile items. Everything was treated carefully and we were consulted at every opportunity, if there was even the smallest question. It required patience and organization and everyone of them demonstrated both. The owner stopped by twice to see how it was going. This is the second house they've done for our family -- and btw, we are in no way related to the company -- so I've experienced the other end of their business too -- items got to me safely and securely across the country.
