Sami is a nice man. Just make sure to ask pricing each time you go. I sent my son to pick up my 2 items and he just handed him the credit card to pay. I was very surprised to find out later how much I had been charged. $94. My fault because I usually ask everytime I go because Sami doesn't write pricing on his tickets. Usually a simple hem is $20-$25. I took a long dress in for a simple hem and linen pant for hem. I was told later that the dress material was very thin so it cost more and the pant had a small slit on side so I was charged extra for both items. I don't think it is good business to not inform a customer of approximate cost before doing work. Had I known this cost I would have taken elsewhere and/or not done the pant. This tailor is not close to my house but I enjoyed supporting this business. I feel like I was taken advantage of so I won't be going back. read more

I took in a brand new Columbia jacket to have the sleeves tightened. That's it. Nothing more. It was basically a straightforward job where the elastic needed to be shortened in order for the sleeves to be tightened. I went to pick it up and they weren't even close to being tight enough, so I left it for the tailor to do it again. Upon returning the next week I find that not only were the sleeves poorly done, but the tailor had CUT THEM SHORTER!!! He decided without EVER consulting me that because I wanted tighter sleeve openings that they should be shorter as well. The elastic he used was too "soft" and rolled inside the hem. The gathering isn't even and doesn't look the same on both sleeves. You can see the word "Omnitech" on one sleeve, and that was a good inch ABOVE the original hem on the sleeve. The jacket, which was brand new and a $100 purchase, is virtually worthless to me now. I have never, EVER experienced such poor workmanship from someone who calls himself a professional. read more

I stopped by last Thursday to see if I could get some help for a friend of my son. He had not had his pants hemmed yet for a wedding they were in on Friday. He lives out of town and waited too long. Charlene was working that day and she said to have him come in and she could do it. He was already at the rehearsal dinner. That was SO nice of her to offer. I asked her if I could purchase some hem tape as I was going to do it myself. She was SO nice and even showed me how to do it. The jeans we're brought in to be patched where there were rips.. I brought in the bandanas myself for them to use. I ask that they put a reinforcement patch behind the bandanas but they did not... Three rips using my bandanas... They did not even cover all the rips that I asked... The brown pants had one single tear in the rump to be sewed... Probably took them about 20 minutes to do the job and they charged me $85.!!! Ridiculous for a 1/2 a** job. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I dropped off a romper to get tailored and was quoted $25. When I arrived to pick up the girl said I owed her $45. I told her Sami told me $25 and I could clearly see that price written on the ticket. She proceeds to say "ok I can do $25 then." I gave her a $100 bill and she gave me $55 in return. When I counted and told her she still owed me $20 more she said oh I was thinking the total of $45. She never apologized. There are plenty of other tailors around that won't try to take advantage of you. Go elsewhere, this was absolutely not right and extremely shady. read more

Stay away! If there is even the slightest question about his outrageous prices Sami goes from sweet to nasty pretty quickly. Then to punish you he will no longer accept a credit card from you to pay. Horrible customer service and high prices for so so work. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Used Sami's tailoring for ( 2 ) 25$ uniform shirts and 1 dress of my wives to be hemmed. He wouldn't give us an estimate, my wife mentioned he might be expensive, and he only takes cash. 3 red flags that I should have seen!! The day I picked up he wanted to charge me $225.00! I was shocked to say the least. I told him I had a 20% off card after he gave me the price and he said, "ok, give me 200 then". Hmmm, that didn't quite add up. I kindly laid out why I was not satisfied and he finally said , "ok, give me 180 then. By now I saw what a scam this guy was. I dug deeper and asked him to break the price down per piece. Turns out he wanted 50 for each shirt and 120 for the dress. Wow!! He finally asked me what I wanted to pay. I said 120 would be ok even though that was still expensive. I then realized I only had 100 in cash so I told him I would take the shirts only. He became irate and literally threw the dress at me and said don't ever return. This story is to warn others before you fall into his trap. He has your clothes and knows you need them. This is probably why he feels comfortable overcharging. And, what legitimate business takes "cash only"?? I'll let you connect those dots. Bottom line...There are a ton of businesses doing the same thing near by that do simple alterations. Total rip of for just couple inches that was taken on the sides , he didn't even use the same color thread . I asked for original sewing and he said he would do that but it wasn't . Charged me 45$ for taking 2 inches in and not original way just a overlock . I Tailor my clothes all the time and this is a 5 bucks job . And didn't tell me how much it would be from beginning . Also pressed the suit when it's not supposed be pressed and I couldn't get the creases out . I went there coz of some nice reviews but would never go back . DONT GO HERE. I brought a pant to be hemmed because it was too long. When they gave it back to me, they had cut the pant (not hemmed it) uneven and it was still so long it didn't look like he did anything to it, even though he measured my desired length of the pant. He was honest in saying which items were worth the expense to alter vs which ones he would recommend buying new. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! READ....I came to Sami's, because I didn't have time to go to my regular tailoring place. When arriving I was told that the 6 pairs of men's shorts would cost $15.00 each, and the graduation gown would cost $20-$25.00 to hem. Upon picking them up, I was told that my total was 145.00 Hmm! I explained what he had quoted me prior, and that I made sure to tell him that I had a 20% coupon. He said that he will reduce my total to $110.00. The 6 pairs of shorts totaled $90.00, the graduation gown, let's just say $25.00. The total should be $115.00, then take the 20% off of that which gives you a grand total that should have paid of $92.00. I had to pay $110.00 NOT RIGHT AT ALL! People, either get a written estimate, or DO NOT GO HERE! He is a rip off! If you want your clothes back, you're going to have to pay up. I can give him credit for how nice, sweet and sincere he comes across. It's worth driving the distance for an honest tailor. read more

I brought a bridesmaid dress in to be hemmed and have the straps shortened. The alterations were done well, so if that is all you care about stop here. The dress would be ready 3 weeks later (a week before the wedding). I didn't ask the price but did not have the energy to shop around so let it go. When I went to pick up the dress I was surprised to find out it was $125 for what I thought was a simple alteration and a steam. I did not fuss as it was my fault for not asking. I gave the woman my credit card to pay and I find out their credit card machine has been having issues. She tries a couple times and it does not work, she then looks at me and says "there is a Bank of America ATM around the corner". Shocked I told her I don't carry an atm card so that was not an option. She continues to try and I'm starting to get worried, the shop closes at 5pm and it's 4:50pm and I have no other time to pick up the dress before the wedding. At this point, she offers me no other alternative(like taking down my card number and running it later) and I start digging in my purse for cash. I luckily have enough cash to cover the bill, and take my dress and leave. Even though they did a good job, I can not recommend this place. Considering the expensive prices and negative customer service I will find another alteration place! read more
