We recently called Scott when our garage door began to malfunction. After a week without a return phone call, my husband called him again. They set up an appointment window for Saturday between 9am and 11am. He never showed up and did not call. He also did not answer my husband's subsequent phone calls. Disappointing (not to mention a big inconvenience). We wanted to give him our business after we were pleased with his friendly and prompt installation of the keyless entry system that we purchased through Conejo deals a few months ago. Called on a recent Saturday morning to get garage door springs replaced, as they had snapped in the middle of the night and our cars were trapped inside. Scheduled a service window of 1-3 PM. Nobody showed up. Several calls and texts later (into the evening), the manager admits that his technician is not showing up that day, and he would reschedule me with a new technician for Sunday morning. On Sunday, the new technician showed up and did a great job (hence the 3 stars), but the extended process of getting them there left a sour taste in my mouth. "Same Day" it was not. read more

This company is great. I needed someone knowledgable, honest, and the same day! Scotty was able to diagnose and fix my issue within 45 minutes. He laid out all the options of what he might need to do to fix my problem without having to replace the entire motor, chain, springs, etc. He was able to complete the project with the least cost impact. We initially used them from a 'Conejo Deals' keyless entry pad. Everything went great on this install. So when I had a 'spun' cable come off my garage door and the door uneven, I called Scott again. He gave me a 9-11am arrival window, arrived at 9am sharp, did the cable repair, checked the main spring, explained this cable issue is common, why the door becomes uneven, etc. The fix was quick and he didn't even charge for the repair work!! Second time I have used Same Day Garage Doors. The first time was general maintenance. Second time was to replace a broken spring and all new rollers. It is an old door and I knew the spring had issues. Greatest service ever! It runs like a new door. On time, professional, and at a very competitive price. We know Scott for over a year now. When we moved into a newly purchased home , the garage door had no openers attached and many failed projects were attempted by the previous owner. So overall it was a big mess. After searching on yelp , we came across Scott from Same day garage door. Since for us the automated opener was a priority , in-spite of short notice he arrived within an hour and quickly installed the opener. He also made sure he came the next day to provide us the 2nd alternative remote as he wanted to make sure we have 2 for each car. Since its an old door we have used his services couple of times now and there are certain key elements which makes us provide this business a rating of 5 : 1. Extremely punctual, quick SLA and professional. Never had to call more than once, always get timely response within 1st call. 2. Awesome knowledge and expertise. Scott can pin point exactly what is wrong and what is needed and fixes the problem quickly. 3. They never try to sell or impose anything. If Scott would have told us that 3-4 parts were broken in the garage door system, we would not have been surprised at all however he told us exactly what was wrong and replaced only the stuff which was immediately required. Ironic business name for a company that hasn't returned my call after I left a message one week ago.

Our Springs had broken a few weeks ago and we got an estimate from another company that I won't mention. I wasn't too sure about that company because the technician had come out and he just rubbed me the wrong way complaining about the tight access to our garage door. I knew ours was a bit of a challenging job compared to most garage door service needs. So after that initial estimate I had been procrastinating dealing with it. While driving through the neighborhood my wife spotted Same Day Garage Door's company truck installing a door not too far from our house. She flags down this guy Mike from Same Day Garage Doors and asked if he could come fix our springs. 20 minutes later he was at our house giving an estimate to replace our broken springs. I also inquired about how I can update the door itself. He happened to have on hand all the bearings, hinges, guide wheels, wire all to rebuild my garage door. 4 hours later I had a rebuilt garage door, new springs, and a new opener. I felt like he gave me a great bundle deal. How rare is it, you call for a service call estimate and the contractor comes with all the parts he needs to do the job right then and there. This guy was just down the street and he squeezed us into his day. I thought Mike was just an employee of the company. When he was finished with the job, I realized he was the owner of the company. I had scheduled an appointment for Saturday, and Mike called 20 minutes prior to showing up, which was great. He went through the inspection and showed us several things and told us what our options would be. Due to the age of our equipment we ended up replacing the spring and rollers. I dropped my garage door remote and I thought it was broken, I always like to have a spare anyway in case there is a problem with only one remote so I called a few garage door companies that were reviewed on Yelp and they either didn't service my area or were not interested in a small job so I trusted the reviews and called Scott at Same Day Garage Doors. I thought the $30 service call was very reasonable and maybe Scott could look at the actual garage door and tell me why it was so noisy. Scott arrived on time and gave me a courtesy call 20 minutes before arriving so I know I could definitely expect him. So many repair companies come late or just don't bother showing up. Being curious I had checked UTube to see if I could fix the remote myself but it looked too complicated and that's when I decided to call a pro. While I was on UTube I viewed a video of how to maintain your garage door system. I thought that was really helpful in explaining how the whole system worked. I never knew I had to do anything TO the garage door after it was installed. After Scott arrived he examined my whole garage door system and explained how badly flawed it was. The springs were wearing out and when lifting the door they were putting extra wear on the motor..several rollers were cracked and chain needed lubrication. The cost to repair the door was expensive but I had been unable to get the garage door to open several years earlier and the springs had to be replaced at that time.. I told Scott to go ahead and do all the repairs. He showed me the worn out parts and explained everything he was doing while he was fixing the door and I told him I had watched the UTube video so I had some understanding of why the parts needed to be replaced. The whole process, including fixing my damaged remote and pairing the two remotes and the remote on my Nissan, which has the remote on the visor, took Scott about an hour and a half. Scott was very nice and professional on the phone and in person and I am also glad that he lives in my area so could make a quick service call if I had an emergency. I had visited the Same Day website and was surprised that it did not display the Contractors License number and the company did not take credit cards. I pointed this out to Scott and told him that I just trusted the Yelp reviews and that's why I called his company. Scott was also surprised and told me that they do take credit cards and are licensed with the state. Scott left me with an extremely detailed bill with a checklist of everything that was broken and what was repaired along with warranty information.. I know this is a very long review but I hope it will be helpful to somebody who is considering one or two other companies and can't decide which one to call. Absolutely horrible experience, would never recommend!!!! We purchased a tune-up and keyless entry system through Conejo Deals. We were able to set up an appointment for the next day, Scott showed up on time, and that's where the good stuff ends. He showed up without a keyless entry system that would work for our garage door saying he ran out of the right part (our motor is Gemini brand so it's not like it's uncommon), but fine these things happen, not a huge deal. While he was here he inspected the door, recommended some repairs, told us to think about it, and we rescheduled for 2 days later. My husband and I agreed we'd go with the repairs to prevent any further problems. When Scott showed up for our next appointment, he arrived 15 minutes before the end of his 2 hour window (again on time so that's good) and I told him we'd agreed to go with the repairs. He claimed he did not have his invoice book (right away I was thrown off, you'd come do a job where repairs are needed without an invoice pad??) and would need to come back later to collect the money. I said fine to that request. He then went on to request that he complete all the repairs later in the afternoon after he completed some other service calls when he returned with his invoice pad. I'd already given up 2 mornings thinking he would be coming to do the work. I have young children and trying to juggle their demands while trying to stay available for when he showed is challenging enough, so I admit I was frustrated with having to reschedule AGAIN, so I explained I did not like the idea of having to give up the entire afternoon as well. From that point, Scott became visibly upset, it was tense and honestly very uncomfortable for me considering I was home alone with my infant and toddler. I was not comfortable with the whole situation by that point and when I told him to just finish the keyless system and we'd figure out the repairs later he got angry and flat out refused to service us at all, even for the work we'd already paid for through Conejo Deals! I asked him to please at least do the work we'd paid for, but again he refused. He even was rude enough to say he owned his own business so he didn't have to deal with "people like me" and made some other personal attacks too like saying I had an inflated ego, overall he was just being extremely rude instead of handling it professionally. And all this because HE was unprepared, TWICE!!! What a waste of my time, my kids time, and what a headache. read more
