You know that feeling, if you've ever had it, the sense of welcome and conversation? That's what you get here. I guess you could compare this place to barbershop the movie... but I think this place has something that it doesn't and that's the diversity that rolls through here. It's experiencing Charlotte's diverse population right here in the barbershop. This is a place where you can unwind talk to your barber about the issues or catching up on life. I'm not saying it's a psychologist session, but rather talking to friends or family. I've been going to my barber Dru for years... and even moving to Tennessee I still come back once and a while to get a cut and to catch up on life. As a matter of fact I've seen him move several times around Charlotte and as long as he's there I'll be coming back time and time again. There's a level of trust that you have with your barber and if you're looking for a place to find that person then I would suggest you to check out this place.

Mainly because I waited almost an hour to get seen and another hour to get my haircut. However, I do like coming here and I did like the work they did. Last time I was here, the owner asked me to change the 3 star review. I considered it and I was going to since I had been enjoying the work so far. Well unfortunately, the owner blocked me from booking with them through Booksy So I can't even update the review anymore. I've always paid them, I've always showed up on time, and I've always been patient and kind. If the owner thinks he can sweep tardiness under the rug and treat his customers like this over a review then fine, I can take my business other places. I suggest anybody else do the same. He insulted me as I sat down Looked at me and my hair and said "oof" like my hair was really messed up (I got it cut the week prior) Didn't give me the cut I asked for (temp fade) Fade is way too high I have stubble on my face I wanted him to cut off and I wasn't aware that counted as "beard" He said that's a "full cut" but before I could say no thanks to the "full cut" he already started cutting. He used "the shavers" and afterwards I had visible irritation on my face. (I have had those type of clippers used on my face before btw) He made more comments like "It's been a minute since your last cut huh? Don't worry we'll get you right." He told me that they don't use a sponge brush bc it can't be sanitized but grabbed an old worn down one off of another barbers station, used it on me, and put it back. He also said "We came a long way with this haircut" He cut my hairline and it left a scab He didn't line my mustache to a point initially. It was a rectangle so I asked him to touch it up some. I called the owner (Issac) and asked to get a refund for the terrible haircut and unprofessional service. Issac told me that he thinks it's a good haircut. Issac said he's sorry if I felt offended by the comments that were made Issac said I shouldn't have paid for it if I didn't like it, so it's too late. I said I didn't think not paying was an option, so can you rectify this by refunding me? He said no. Issac offered a discount on my next haircut. So what I got was: No money back and a terrible apology. Basically "Sorry you were upset".

Tried Sports Clips in Denver which was pretty good at first, but the reservations system went way downhill very quickly. Their reservations system does not compensate for walk in or if the patron brings a guest which throws everything off. Tried Great Clips and their computer system was not even working. Moved on to Roosters in Cornelius in their new location next to Publix until the stylist I requested overbooked and I ended up waiting over an hour beyond my scheduled time and still had not gotten my hair cut at which time I left. Tried The Kilted Buffalo in Birkdale and the young lady who cut my hair was the only person working so she ended up cutting, being the bartender and answering the phone. Not a smooth flow of getting one's hair cut. Back to Sports Clips in Denver and while it went pretty smooth at first, back to the same issues with reservations. My wife and I went to the Buffet at Butcher Boy's in Denver/Sherrills Ford this morning and she commented on the Perfect Gentleman and asked if I had ever tired it. Of course the answer was no. After sitting in Sports Clips well beyond my scheduled appointment, I told them to take my name off of the board. I had been listed as #1 for the entire time I was there. Went home and I started looking for alternative places for a haircut. That is when my wife suggested the Perfect Gentleman. Went on their website to check them out and they had everything I needed except "do they take credit cards" (They do). Called and found out the hours listed were incorrect but the owner said she would update. They are closed tomorrow which is Sunday but Tina Marie asked if I could come this afternoon. I've found a new home. They are fantastic. Walk in the door and there is a nice comfortable waiting area to the left. On the right is a line of barber chairs. Big difference from when this was an Ice Cream Shop. My hair was cut by Tina Marie who is also the Owner of Perfect. I have thin fine hair so hard to work with. It looks the best in has looked in years and with the layering, looks fuller and more robust. I was so impressed, I went ahead and booked my next appointment in 5 weeks. Highly recommend.

Also, if you're looking for a military/LEO style cut, consider them. I've been coming here for almost 8 years and never had a complaint. If you come on a Saturday, be prepared to wait.
