Went there for first time. It was a Sunday, celebrating Father's day with my family. I don't think…read morethey take reservations so we just went at 11:30. It's located in a plaza with a lot of other businesses. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is small, less than 10 tables. Most of the tables fit 4, and as a party of 8, we had to wait around 45 minutes. The waitresses were all nice and attentive. The menu is extensive with an extra specials menu. A lot of mix of cultures, including Cape Verdean dish and Dominican dish. I ordered steak and eggs. My family had; kids plate, chicken & waffles, chicken siracha sandwich, chicken blt, Oreo waffle, another steak and eggs; and veggie omelette . Everything was delicious and well made. Will def go back to try other items. I only wish the place was bigger so the wait wouldn't be as long

This place is fantastic! While it's on the smaller side we had no problem getting a table. The menu…read moreis also pretty expansive due to their impressive amount of daily specials. I had the strawberry limeade (which was delicious) and the crab cake Benedict which was to die for! The crab cake was nice and crispy, egg perfectly cooked, and the chipotle hollandaise had a nice kick to it. My significant other had the passion fruit juice and breakfast burrito- both excellent. This was combined with some excellent service! I highly recommend this little cafe!

Had a few Bloody Mary's also a hard choice this time I tried the garden vodka infused bloody-it was bloody good!! Looking forward to my next work night and my next meal at the Rhody Hen!

So vacationing in Providence, Rhode Island, looking for breakfast before heading into Newport,…read moreright next to my hotel, The Rhody Hen Café, located in a strip mall this cute little establishment came highly recommended from the Yelp community here in Rhode Island, me the wife, daughter and granddaughter stepped on in only to be told 25 minute wait no problems took our name and phone number and the wait started, five minutes later we had a table! Walked into a cozy cute very busy restaurant, greeted within two minutes, took our Beverage order and was off, They specialize in bloody Mary's mimosas as well as special coffees very nice, back in three minutes with the drinks, taking the order and she was off I must say the waitress is very nice very polite and very efficient! that being said within 10 minutes. The main courses arrived looking fantastic. I didn't post any pictures this time cause looking at the plates from the reviews on Yelp it's basic eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes on a plate no special garnishes so I apologize in advance for that however, the food was fantastic. Everything was hot. My only gripe was being from Rhode Island and the Portuguese community being very relevant here they serve Portuguese chorizo and my wife ordered this and it was quite dry not juicy at all. That was a bummer coming from Florida, You can't get it! everything else was phenomenal I must say this was a great experience and if you're ever in the area for a great breakfast and you want to stay away from the chain restaurants that serve breakfast check out The Rhody you won't be disappointed I have spoken...

3.5 stars but not at all because of the quality of food. We waited over 45 minutes for our food…read morewhile watching others who sat down AGES after us and therefore ordered AGES after us get their food. They ended up giving us free brownies and free orange juice to make up for their mistake (maybe forgot to put our order in?), but still maybe could've gotten a comp for one of our dishes that we had already ordered instead of new dishes we didn't need. I'm grateful don't get me wrong just.... The food was delicious though. I'm not a huge biscuit person but the biscuit was yummy and flaky which I feel like is different from normal ones? Idk regardless was good and it came with grapefruit jam and butter yum. The hash browns were hands down my fav dish. So oily and crispy and everything a hash brown should be MMMM plus the aioli and cubed presentation. The pancakes were so good and fluffy and GIANT and the whipped butter was yummy on top. The maitake madame was something different but nonetheless good. It was very mustardy but also not too overwhelmingly mustardy and the cheese on top the crispy bread was perfect. All in all the food was superb but the long wait time is what ultimately brought this rating down. The place was also very crowded and lively up until closing, no doubt due to the delicious food
